Moveable rail out 11 metres from the 850 to the 400 then 8 metres for the remainder.

RACE 1
THE INK SPOT PRINTERS HANDICAP 1200 metres
HE’S ALL OURS was slow to begin.
After jumping away awkwardly DASH O’LUCK shifted out taking DELELISE out on to BANNING’S PAGE.
Near the 700 metres DELELISE was tightened for room between RIVOJEWEL which shifted in slightly and BANNING’S PAGE which shifted out.
PATRICK’S BID which was following shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of DELELISE.
Approaching the 300 metres DELELISE shifted out to improve and made contact with RIVOJEWEL.
J. Walk rider of RIVOJEWEL accidentally dropped his whip near the 200 metres.
DASH O’LUCK was inclined to lay out during the event.
RACE 2
GRAND PACIFIC RESORT HANDICAP 1200 metres
TEMPLE DANCE was slow to begin.
GHOSTLY TALE was slow to begin and shortly after the start had to be steadied off the heels of EMILY LOUISE which shifted out.
For some distance approaching the first turn TEMPLE DANCE was inclined to over race.
Making the 800 metres turn TRANQUIL LAD shifted out causing COOLABAH to be steadied. A short distance later TRANQUIL LAD shifted out and made contact with COLD START.
Passing the 600 metres TRANQUIL LAD again shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of COLD START.
Making the home turn TRANQUIL LAD shifted out taking FASHION RULER out inconveniencing EMILY LOUISE and MARENA LAD.
ABUKUDA was forced to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 3
CHEF’S HAT (KITCHENWARE) KAWANA HANDICAP 1600 metres
Trainer D. Bougoure was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for STRIKE by the required time.
SWAGMAN SAM and STRIKE were both slow to begin.
Shortly after the start BOLD AND BRASH shifted out and brushed STRIKE.

Approaching the 300 metres JETWIN was held up for clear running and had to shift to the outside to improve.
When placed under pressure after passing the 200 metres BOLD AND BRASH was inclined to hang in and continued to do so over the concluding stages.
A post race Veterinary examination of JETWIN which raced disappointingly failed to reveal any abnormality.
D. Tanti rider of PANORAMIC STAR was reprimanded for making contact with another rider after passing the winning post.
RACE 4
NEIL MANSELL LANDSCAPE SUPPLIES HANDICAP 1600 metres
PLANET KING was slow to begin.
SHOWZON and HAGAR THE HORRIBLE made heavy contact on jumping away.
AFLAC pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.
RACE 5
NORTHERN CITY FINANCE PTY LTD HANDICAP 1300 metres
SUNSET CROWN jumped away awkwardly.
ROADINSKY was slow to begin.
After passing the 1200 metres SUNSET CROWN had to be steadied off the heels of BALAKA which shifted in.
M. Tarrant rider of ROADINSKY was fined the sum of $50 for excessive use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
RACE 6
THE DAILY JUICE COMPANY HANDICAP 1400 metres
FEE FI PO and WEALTH AND POWER were both slow to begin.
After passing the 1000 metres NED’S DEVINE was inclined to pull hard and had to be steadied off the heels of GEORGE THE RED.
Near the 900 metres MARX had to be steadied off the heels of WOODSAW which was taken in by THESPIAN PRINCE.
RACE 7
IDEAL ELECTRICAL HANDICAP 1000 metres
DAIL A STAR, CENTONA and RELEVANCE were all slow to begin.
On jumping away BANDIERA was hampered between HARD TO PLEASE and FLAMING PRINCE both of which shifted ground.
A short distance later HARD TO PLEASE shifted in and made heavy contact with STORMY BLUE which shifted in and made contact with STAR COSSER.
Over the concluding stages CENTONA improved up on to the heels of STAR COSSER and had to be checked.
When questioned trainer Trevor Whittington stated he could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of CENTONA which finished well back in the field. Apprentice Paul Hammersley stated he also could offer no excuse for the poor performance of CENTONA other than he believed the colt needed further distance.

RACE 8
CALOUNDRA LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT HANDICAP 1400 metres
The start was delayed when EYES WIDE OPEN struck the side of the barrier prior to the event. The filly was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
LEE SHORE and ELDORADA were both slow to begin.
At the start EYES WIDE OPEN was tightened for room between ELOVENA and SWEET CHERI PIE both of which shifted ground.
A short distance later EYES WIDE OPEN had to be steadied off the heels of ELOVENA which shifted out.
From the 100 metres until approaching the winning post ELDORADA was disappointed for a run between PARIS SILK and the tiring MISS JAKEO which shifted in.
All winners were swabbed.
