TRACK RATING: Slow
Moveable rail out 12 metres from the 850 to the 400 then 10 metres for the remainder.

RACE 1
EMPLOYMENT NATIONAL HANDICAP 1200 metres
As A Cowie was indisposed he was replaced on OMNITRADER by M. Bennett.
On return to scale a protest was lodged by K. Pope rider of 4th placed SINSIN against ABSAROKA ridden by N. Jolly being declared 3rd alleging interference at the 800 metres and again at the 600 metres.
At a protest inquiry it was found that near the 800 metres ABSAROKA commenced to race fiercely and had to be checked off the heels of OMNITRADER. ABSAROKA then shifted in and made contact with SINSIN causing that horse to become unbalanced. ABSAROKA continued to race ungenerously taking YOU SEE A STAR and CERTAIN BLITZ wider on the track. Stewards found that the interference suffered to ABSAROKA did not justify upholding the protest and placings stood at 7 : 2 : 10 : 6.
Trainer M. Mair was advised that TRANQUIL LAD which ran wide making the 800 metres turn must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to its next race start.
Approaching the 600 metres SINSIN was tightened for room by ABSAROKA which was taken in by CERTAIN BLITZ. Jockey M. Pagett rider of CERTAIN BLITZ was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
RACE 2
SUNSHINE COAST PARTY HIRE HANDICAP 1300 metres
As M. Gray was indisposed he was replaced on HEY HAROLD by M. Smith-Lester.
After making heavy contact with the side of the barrier A LOT OF CLASS jumped away awkwardly.
In this incident jockey N. Jolly hurt his right knee however the Club Doctor passed him fit to fulfil his further engagements.
Near the 1200 metres IL PADRINO was tightened for room between BRABINGER and HE’S ALL OURS both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 1200 metres HE’S ALL OURS had to be steadied off the heels of HEY HAROLD which was taken out by CRAZY FELLA.
After passing the 1000 metres GO NORTH TO ALASKA was inclined to over race for some distance.
A post race Veterinary examination of IL PADRINO revealed the colt sustained a minor laceration to the off side hind.
RACE 3
CREDIT MANAGEMENT GROUP HANDICAP 1300 metres
GET MOBILE jumped away awkwardly hampering ORMOLU and POSH KELLI.
Making the 800 metres turn DO IT ALL shifted out taking JOYFUL DAY and ORMOLU wider on the track.
Approaching the 700 metres ORMULO shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of NATIVE FLOWERS.
Near the 500 metres GREAT SMILE was momentarily tightened for room by JOYFUL DAY which was taken in by DEMI ARMORE..
Approaching the 400 metres GET MOBILE had to be steadied off the tiring DEMI ARMORE.
After passing the 400 metres SUNNY RAY shifted in and brushed SUPERINA.

RACE 4
NASKAM SECURITY HANDICAP 1600 metres
BROWN DIRT COWBOY was slow to begin.
After passing the 1200 metres ROYAL SEA had to be steadied off the heels of MIGHT BE.
Following this incident ROYAL SEA then commenced to over race obliging apprentice M. McDonald to race in a three wide position for the remainder of the event.
RACE 5
BARTERCARD REAL ESTATE HANDICAP 1000 metres
WINNING BLIND was slow to begin.
On jumping away STAR MASTER shifted out and made contact with MILL PRINCE.
In the early stages of the event STAR MASTER was inclined to over race.
After passing the 600 metres WINNING BLIND shifted out and made contact with PRINCE JACOB.
After entering the straight STAR MASTER shifted out to improve and made heavy contact with MILL PRINCE. Apprentice R. Pittman rider of STAR MASTER was advised to exercise more care when shifting out to improve in future.
RACE 6
CALOUNDRA POWER BOAT CLUB HANDICAP 1000 metres
SPORADIC and CAPANNELLE were both slow to begin.
On jumping away MARCASITE had to be checked when tightened between CRAZY JOE and RETSIL both of which shifted ground.
When questioned regarding the performance of CAPANNELLE jockey K. Pope stated that he elected to ride the gelding forward and was obliged to place CAPANNELLE under pressure for the majority of the event. K. Pope also stated that in his opinion the gelding was not suited by today’s distance or track conditions. K. Pope’s comments were noted.
RACE 7
QUEENSLAND WINNERS CLUB HANDICAP 1400 metres
Acting on Veterinary advice BOLD PROSPECT was declared a late scratching at 9.55am and ADAMMUP at 9.05am.
An inquiry will be held into the reason for the late scratching of MAC’S SEATTLE.
RACE 8
KAWANA WATERS BOWLS CLUB INC HANDICAP 1200 metres
An inquiry was adjourned into the reason CENTRAL WEST was presented to the enclosure without blinkers.
SENSATIONAL GIRL jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the side partition of the barrier.
Approaching the 600 metres BELL ROAD had to be steadied off the heels of ZEDALITY which shifted in.
Rounding the home turn ZEDALITY and BELL ROAD blundered.
Near the 300 metres BANDAGES was tightened for room between ZEDALITY and CENTRAL WEST which shifted out.
Approaching the 200 metres BANDAGES improved up on to the heels of SENSATIONAL GIRL and had to be steadied.
Near the 200 metres ZEDALITY shifted in under pressure and brushed SENSATIONAL GIRL.
All winners were swabbed.
