Acting on a Veterinary certificate produced by trainer D. Crumpton the bar on ELY’S LEGACY has now been lifted.
RACE 1
THE RACEBOOK COMPANY HANDICAP 1200 metres
GRAND ESTIME was slow to begin.
LUCKY ACE jumped away awkwardly.
When the pace slowed near the 800 metres GRAND ESTIME had to be steadied off the heels of FONTINA.
SAHARA AMBER was inclined to hang out from approaching the 800 metres until entering the straight.
RACE 2
AUSSIE WORLD HANDICAP 1400 metres
No racing incidents.
RACE 3
HAIR TESTING LABORATORY HANDICAP 1600 metres
Acting on Veterinary advice BROWN DIRT COWBOY was declared a late scratching at 1.53pm after the gelding dislodged its rider Matthew Bennett and galloped for some distance then crashed through a gate.
On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on BROWN DIRT COWBOY were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 17c in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 19c in the dollar on the face value of place bets being applicable.
ASSERTER was slow to begin.
Approaching the 150 metres THE MOSSY BANK KID had to be checked and LOGIES was hampered when tightened between ASSERTER and DREAMS ARE US both of which shifted ground. Stewards however issued a reprimand against G. Duffy rider of DREAMS ARE US for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount.
After passing the 50 metres LOGIES shifted out under pressure and brushed DREAMS ARE US. In this incident LOGIES became unbalanced and shifted in making contact with ASSERTER.
RACE 4
PUB MOOLOOLABA HANDICAP 1000 metres
After jumping away awkwardly RON’S XENA shifted out and made heave contact with SEARICH.
After being a little slow to begin NYLA MOA had to be checked shortly after the start when tightened for room between CALL ME SPLINTER and MALDREAM both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 700 metres and again approaching the 600 metres SEARICH improved up on to the heels of FLYING ICE and had to be checked on both occasions.

Approaching the 200 metres when being ridden with the whip MANOR’S DAUGHTER shifted out abruptly and approaching the 50 metres MANOR’S DAUGHTER again shifted out and brushed CALL ME SPLINTER.
A post race Veterinary examination of NYLA MOA failed to reveal any abnormality..
RACE 5
PACIFIC FORD PTY LTD HANDICAP 1400 metres
Due to transport difficulties LORETTA’S JOY was late arriving on course and following an examination by the Club Veterinary Surgeon the filly was passed fit to start.
.REGAL GLARE, TERCEL and LORETTA’S JOY were all slow to begin.
After passing the 1100 metres RESOLVING POWER shifted in and brushed DO IT ALL.
Over the concluding stages jockey S. Shield rider of TERCEL accidentally dropped his whip.
RACE 6
K. SMIH & SON JEWELLERS HANDICAP 1600 metres
CLASSIC VERDICT was declared a late scratching at 1.32pm when the gelding was found to be lame after shifting the off fore plate.
MOET MISS and ERNEST HOPE were both slow to begin.
In the early and middle stages of the event SPLENDIDO over raced.
RACE 7
GARRY CRICK VW HANDICAP 1400 metres
SADDLE BOY shifted out on jumping away inconveniencing FRAMEWORTHY and HAVE A SAY.
Rounding the home turn DRAGONVILLE shifted out to improve taking ANOTHER ROAD out on to KINGDOR.
RACE 8
NEUENDORF INTERIORS HANDICAP 1200 metres
SPLIT THE WIND was declared a late scratching at 4.52pm when the saddle broke on the way to the barriers.
On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SPLIT THE WIND were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 12c in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 11c in the dollar on the face value of place bets were applicable.
MORINGA’S MONARCH was slow to begin.
Near the 200 metres STORMY BLUE shifted out and brushed DAZZER BOY.
All winners were swabbed.
