RACE 1
MAROOCHY SHIRE HANDICAP 850 metres
Jockey C. Kearney was notified as the rider of BLAZABELLE shortly after the deadline. Following an explanation no action was taken.
Trainer Ray McCall was fined the sum of $50 for failing to register the transfer of ownership for CRAIGLEA EGO.
The start was delayed due to KOBI COVE having to be resaddled.
DARBONNAIRE was slow to begin.
KOBI COVE which bucked shortly after the start losing valuable ground was declared ineligible to race until such time as the colt trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.
RACE 2
OMEGA SMEG 1600 metres
SHEAR PIN was a little slow to begin.
TEMPE TIP which refused to jump with the field losing considerable ground will be required to pass a further barrier test before being permitted to race.
Approaching the 1400 metres REDWAY had to be steadied off the heels of CARN VILLA when the pace eased. SHEAR PIN which was trailing was momentarily hampered.
After shifting out three wide REDWAY over raced for some distance until assuming the lead after leaving the 800 metres.
When questioned concerning the seemingly disappointing performance of AQUA LEONE jockey S. Galloway explained that the colt travelled well until he attempted to improve his position at the 700 metres however AQUA LEONE did not respond as anticipated and ran home only fairly.
A Veterinary examination of AQUA LEON subsequent to the race revealed the colt had struck itself on several occasions on the off hind pastern and lacerated its coronet band and above the coronet and it was the opinion of the Veterinary Surgeon that the nature of the injuries sustained may have affected the performance today.
RACE 3
NAMBOUR BLUE LIGHT HANDICAP 1400 metres
Due to a misunderstanding jockey K. Mahoney was notified as the late rider for SHALARKO.
SUPERSTEAM and ARC BURN were both slow to begin.
On two occasions near the 1000 metres ARC BURN and SUPERSTEAM made contact.
Jockey K. Mahoney rider of SHALARKO was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when not clear of SO EXCITED approaching the 1200 metres.
K. Mahoney reported that after assuming the lead SHALARKO was inclined to over race.

RACE 4
CITY OF CALOUNDRA HANDICAP 1300 metres
MON MEKKI which was fractious in the barriers jumped away awkwardly.
OLD FRIENDS was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start MONDAY SILENCE and VIRGO’S MADHATTA bumped.
When being steadied off the heels of NORSE RAIDER near the 800 metres THE OUTBACK RAT hung out and had to be checked away from the heels of FACE PAINT.
VIRGO’S MADHATTA had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
THIEF OF TIME had a tendency to lay in over the concluding stages.
RACE 5
MOOLOOLABA SURF CLUB HANDICAP 1000 metres
M. Rice was declared as the rider for SO VITAL and not M. Rodd as printed in the racebook.
M. Carson was declared as the rider for LEE CHEREE and not M. Cahill as printed in the racebook.
LEE CHEREE was slow to begin.
MYSTIC ACE jumped out at the start and made contact with AGREEABILITY.
After jumping away awkwardly SO VITAL was severely checked between SMART FIND and CIARA when both horses shifted ground.
Approaching the 600 metres LEE CHEREE had to be eased away from the heels of AGREEABILITY.
A post race Veterinary examination of AGREEABILITY revealed the mare had sustained a laceration to the near side hind.
RACE 6
KAWANA WATERS HOTEL HANDICAP 1200 metres
IMPORTED PRINCE and CAPTAIN MALLORY were buffeted shortly after the start between JOHNNY TRISTRAM and SURF JESTER which shifted out.
Near the 300 metres JOHN SYN shifted in momentarily to take a run inside SURF JESTER and made slight contact with IMPORTED PRINCE.
SURF JESTER shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
RACE 7
CRIME STOPPERS CUP 1400 metres
CAPANNELLE was slow to begin.
After leaving the 1100 metres TRIP TO THE MOON had to be steadied off the heels of MASTER OF SPEED.
RACE 8
FRIDAY’S HANDICAP 1000 metres
Trainer L. Ross was fined the sum of $50 for failing to notify he had removed the tongue tie from GOLD BULLET by the prescribed time.
DANEHILL STAR stumbled as the gates opened and lost ground.
When racing inside COMET DANCER inside the 600 metres DANEHILL STAR had to be checked when COMET DANCER commenced to hang in.
ACE CLUB had to be eased when it improved up on to the heels of GOLD BULLET after passing the 600 metres.
DANEHILL STAR was held up rounding the home turn and could not obtain clear running until near the 200 metres.
After leaving the 300 metres BURAN BREEZE was hampered and raced in restricted room inside GOLD BULLET until the 200 metres.

All winners plus SUPERSTEAM (Race 3), IMPORTED PRINCE (Race 6) and TRIP TO THE MOON (Race 7) were swabbed.
Pre race blood samples were taken from SHEAR PIN and MIGHTY KNIGHT (Race 2) and ILLUMINANT and MASTER OF SPEED (Race 7)..
