Apprentice D. Gay was reprimanded for failing to produce a letter of authority.

RACE 1
NICOLE IRVING HANDICAP 1000 metres

VITAL ISSUE jumped away awkwardly.

Rounding the 800 metres turn GANGREL shifted out and brushed ELI’S LEGACY.

Trainer Andrew Williamson pleaded guilty to charges under AR 21 and AR 60 in that he failed to submit the previous name of SHADOWFOX when nominating LUMBA LUMBA and also for failing to notify that the gelding had had three starts in Hong Kong prior to coming to Australia. Trainer A. Williamson was fined the sum of $100 on each charge.

Following Race 1 jockey S. Katsidis was stood down by the Club Doctor and replaced as follows:
Race 2 PEDRO’S AMAIZING A. Erhart.
Race 7 JACK’S DREAM K. Pope

RACE 2
CHRIS McCABE HANDICAP 1000 metres

Acting on Veterinary advice POTENTIATE was declared a late scratching 9.20am.

As A. Morrison was indisposed he was replaced on CROWN WARRIOR by A. Kennedy.

After becoming fractious BRONZE ICON was released from the barriers, inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.

BRONZE ICON shifted out on jumping away and made contact with HENRY THE OCTOPUS.

After jumping away awkwardly DREAM ROSE shifted in abruptly taking SHOT OF PASSION in on to UMBERTO which shifted in and made heavy contact with GORDIAN KNOT which became unbalanced.

PEDRO’S AMAIZING was inclined to lay out making the first turn.

Approaching the 200 metres GORDIAN KNOT was disappointed for a run between CROWN WARRIOR and PEDRO’S AMAIZING and obliged to shift out to improve.

RACE 3
STEVEN BOWDITCH HANDICAP 1400 metres

Trainer K. Carroll was fined the sum of $50 for failing to notify a rider for HONKY TONK WOMAN by the required time.

FREE RADICAL which was kicked in the off hind prior to the event was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and pass fit to start.

GO NORTH TO ALASKA became fractious when entering the barriers and reared over dislodging jockey K. Mahoney. After being examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon GO NORTH TO ALASKA was passed fit to start.
Trainer T. Miller was advised a warning has been placed on GO NORTH TO ALASKA regarding its barrier manners.
Following the event jockey K. Mahoney was stood down by the Club Doctor and was subsequently replaced on SHARMEEN STAR (Race 7) by J. Taylor.

HONKY TONK WOMAN was slow to begin.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of FREE RADICAL apprentice M. Rodd stated that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle today’s heavy track conditions.

RACE 4
SIMON MARTIN HANDICAP 1200 metres

Trainer Bill Chard was fined the sum of $50 for failing to notify a rider for NAKED SPUR by the required time.

OUR RIFFNEE jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering MURKY and EIMEO BAY.

A short distance after the start THE TANK shifted out and brushed NAKED SPUR




RACE 5
BRADLEY HORE HANDICAP 1300 metres

On jumping away RENFREW and COEUR DEHERE made heavy contact.

SHAMIANA jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start PASSION POWER shifted in and away from SHAMIANA causing COEUR DEHERE to be steadied.

After leaving the 600 metres COEUR DEHERE had to be steadied when tightened for room between PASSION POWER and LUCKY LAURIE which shifted out to improve.

RACE 6
XXXX RISING STARS HANDICAP 1000 metres

POETIC EARL reared as the gates were released and lost considerable ground.

BUCK WHAN slipped on jumping away.

BREEZE PAST jumped away awkwardly.

After passing the 300 metres AYNSLEY GOLD shifted out to improve taking BURAN BREEZE out on to the heels of PRIDE OF PYRMONT which had to be steadied. Apprentice R. Hurley rider of AYNSLEY GOLD was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.

Over the concluding states PRIDE OF PYRMONT was inclined to shift in under pressure inconveniencing AYNSLEY GOLD and POETIC GOLD.

When questioned over the seemingly disappointing performance of JEEPERS apprentice P. Hammersley stated that the gelding had never felt comfortable in the going and failed to respond to his riding in the straight.
A post race Veterinary examination of JEEPERS failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 7
NATHAN CLARKE HANDICAP 1400 metres

JUST CASSIDY and KWILA STAR were both slow to begin.

Rounding the 800 metres turn SHARMEEN STAR improved up on to the heels of JUST CASSIDY and had to be steadied.

RACE 8
ROBERT THOMPSON HANDICAP 1600 metres

THOMSON was slow to begin.


Approaching the 1500 metres BOLD CENTAUR and BILLY CART HILL were tightened for room between CENTRAL BANKER and CRIME BOSS both of which shifted ground.

MANALOA and CENTRAL BANKER both pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.

At the entrance to the straight LITHE had to be steadied off the heels of GLENTARKIE which shifted out slightly when tiring.

When attempting a run between FEE FI PO and THOMSON approaching the 200 metres CRIME BOSS shifted out to improve hampering LITHE. Jockey A. Kennedy rider of CRIME BOSS was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

Near the 200 metres CRIME BOSS had to be steadied to avoid the heels FEE FI PO which shifted out.






All winners were swabbed.
