Race 1
COSMETICS PLUS PLATE 1800 metres

Acting on Veterinary advice ZEPHAUTHOR was declared a late scratching at 12.42pm when the horse became fractious in the barriers and bruised the near fore tendon area.
On the announcement of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on ZEPHAUTHOR be refunded with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar for all win and 4 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of win and place tickets applicable.
Trainer L. Richardson was advised that both a Veterinary Certificate and a barrier certificate must be obtained for ZEPHAUTHOR prior to its next race start.

EL EARL and WAITAWHERO GOLD were both slow to begin.

CLOLEFIN shifted out on jumping away and made contact with ISERE.

For some distance approaching the 1500 metres EL EARL was inclined to over race and had to be steadied off the heels of BUZZ ON BY.

RACE 2
IN CURTAINS HANDICAP 1200 metres

Trainer S. Kendrick was fined the sum of $25 for failing to notify a gear change for LUNAR LANDING by the required time.

Trainer J. Wade was fined the sum of $25 for failing to notify a gear change for EXTREME AGIN by the required time.

NATURAL MOMENT jumped away awkwardly.

TELEGRAND shifted in at the start and made heavy contact with HARRY’S HAT.

Shortly after the start SHEZANNIE had to be checked and UNBRIDLED’S BRONZE and TRISTRAM GREY were tightened for room between EXTREME AGIN and HARRY’S HAT both of which shifted ground.

After leaving the 1100 metres EXTREME AGIN and UNBRIDLED’S BRONZE were tightened for room between MEGARA MOA and TELEGRAND both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the 300 metres ATEOKTAS had to be steadied off the heels of EXTREME AGIN which was inclined to lay in.

SANDTILLEY and UNBRIDLED’S BRONZE were both forced to race wide throughout the event.

RACE 3
MARY HENZELL REAL ESTATE HANDICAP 1300 metres

BRITANNICUS was hampered on jumping away between HAGAR THE HORRIBLE and MAY ROYAL which shifted out abruptly.

SHAMIANA was forced to race in a three wide position for the entire event.

RACE 4
HATS BY TRACY MAC HANDICAP 1300 metres

TELDAWN was tightened for room at the start between BELLE PAREZ and ZEDALITY both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the 700 metres TELDAWN was forced to race in a three wide position when the filly commenced to over race.




RACE 5
THE SHOE RACK HANDICAP 1300 metres

HUGGER MUGGER was tightened for room at the start between CALEDONIAN LAD and NO MAN’S LAND which shifted out.

A post race Veterinary examination of NO MAN’S LAND revealed no significant abnormality however the gelding had lost the near side front shoe.

RACE 6
CHAIRMEN’S TRIBUTE SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP 1200 metres

Acting on Veterinary advice RULANCER was declared a late scratching at 1.10pm when the filly received lacerations to the near hind and off hip en route to the course. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised a Veterinary Certificate must be obtained for RULANCER prior to its next race start.

JESTER FLIGHT was slow to begin.

On jumping away SANDY SLIDE shifted out and brushed DANCING LOU which shifted out tightening FLASH VALENTINE and KIMBARETTE on to the hind quarters of MILLIBACI.

Shortly after the start EWANJO and WINDSCREAMER had to be checked when tightened for room between CRAIGLEA WAY and VALADON which shifted out and away from TYCOON ROSE.

Making the 800 metres turn TYCOON ROSE had to be steadied when tightened for room by WINDSCREAMER which was inclined to lay in.

A short distance later TYCOON ROSE again had to be steadied off the heels of WINDSCREAMER which shifted in.

After passing the 600 metres EWANJO shifted out to improve taking CAWDOR SUNSET wider on the track.

Over the concluding stages SANDY SLIDE shifted out under pressure causing STAGE REVUE and MILLIBACI to alter course.

.RACE 7
VAL SPARKS FLORIST HANDICAP 1600 metres

Acting on Veterinary advice STAR OF SNIPPETS was declared a late scratching at 8.15am.

For a short distance after entering the straight WINNING FRIENDS was held up for a clear run.

After passing the 100 metres CENTRAL BANKER had to be steadied off the heels of JUST CASSIDY which shifted out under pressure.

MOLLY SINGER and MAXIMUS EQUUS were both forced to race wide throughout the event.

RACE 8
AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY LIVING HANDICAP 1000 metres

COSSEGO and BELLATRIX came together on jumping away.

After passing the 50 metres WHISKEY BOY had to be steadied off the heels of KRABLOONIK which shifted in under pressure.




GENERAL: Apprentice M. McDonald rider of MORINGA’S MONARCH (Race 7) was found guilty under AR 137( c ) in that prior to the winning post he waved his whip in a celebratory manner. M. McDonald was subsequently fined the sum of $300.



ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
