STEWARDS REPORT Sunday 26th May 2002

WEATHER: Fine
TRACK RATING: Good
Moveable rail out 6.5 metres from the 800 to the 400 metres then 5 metres for the remainder.

RACE 1
NATIONAL STORAGE HANDICAP 1400 metres

BAY OF PLENTY and PRINCE OF CENTRES were both slow to begin.

Approaching the 700 metres PRINCE OF CENTRES improved up on to the heels of BAY OF PLENTY and had to be steadied. PRINCE OF CENTRES then commenced to pull hard and again near the 600 metres had to be steadied off the heels of BAY OF PLENTY.

Rounding the home turn and for some distance in the straight PRINCE OF CENTRES and DARBONNAIRE were held up for clear running.

Near the 300 metres LE COQ was inconvenienced between BAY OF PLENTY and THEATREGOER which shifted in under pressure.

THEATREGOER was forced to race wide throughout the event.

RACE 2
TEWANTIN-NOOSA RSL HANDICAP 1400 metres

KING RUBITON was slow to begin.

MAY THUNDER and SEAANA made contact on jumping away.

KING’S BISHOP and HATS brushed on jumping away.

When the pace slackened passing the 1000 metres HATS had to be steadied off the heels of MALUMBA.

J. Taylor rider of MALUMBA was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 800 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of PENEELE causing PENEELE to be checked. As a result of this incident PENEELE shifted out abruptly and made contact with KACHINGO.
J. Taylor was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence midnight Wednesday 29th May 2002 and to expire at midnight on Sunday 9th June 2002.

A post race Veterinary examination of EXPERIENCE failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 3
DENMAC PLUMBING HANDICAP 1000 metres

HULIOUS was slow to begin.

BROWN CHARIOT shifted out at the start hampering RECORD BREAKER.

Approaching the 900 metres RECORD BREAKER had to be steadied when tightened for room between BROWN CHARIOT and ACOSS which was inclined to lay in and away from WICKED INSTINCT.

A post race Veterinary examination of RECORD BREAKER failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4
TENSENS CLEANING SUPPLIES HANDICAP 1800 metres

TRILOBITE and QUEUE TO FLY came together on jumping away.

Rounding the home turn LITHE shifted out abruptly to improve taking TRILOBITE wider on the track.

Near the 200 metres ARDOSH had to be steadied when tightened for room between TAMARENA and ALL MANJACK which was inclined to lay in.

RACE 5
WORK DIRECTIONS AUSTRALIA HANDICAP 1200 Metres

Acting on Veterinary advice GUNGADIN was declared a late scratching at 9.15am.

Passing the 700 metres LEAD THE ACE had to be steadied when tightened for room by LEE SHORE which was inclined to lay in.

LEAD THE ACE was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.

A post race Veterinary examination of QUEENSBURY ROAD revealed the gelding had sustained a cut to the mouth.

RACE 6
NUMBER ONE BAR & RESTAURANT HANDICAP 1000 metres

FIRES OF IRELAND and JILLINA BLUE were both slow to begin.

Trainer B. McLachlan was advised a warning has been placed on EMINENT CHEVAL which failed to jump with the field.

Over the concluding stages STAR MASTER had to be steadied when tightened for room between JILLINA BLUE and SUMMERSET COUNTY both of which shifted ground.

RACE 7
AMBASSADOR TRAVEL SERVICES HANDICAP 1300 metres

Acting on Veterinary advice DANEGOLD was declared a late scratching at 9.15am.

REGAL GARTER jumped away awkwardly.

CLASSIC KIWI LIP was slow to begin.

CHILLA NOVA jumped away awkwardly hampering JENIBRIA and ST. MALO.

Approaching the 800 metres ST. MALO shifted out and made contact with ALL THINGS.

REGAL GARTER was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

Near the 300 metres CLASSIC KIWI LIP improved up on to the heels of TURF ACE and had to be checked.

Near the 200 metres CLASSIC KIWI LIP had to be steadied off the heels of CAPANNELLE which was taken out by REGAL GARTER which shifted out abruptly.

A.. Parramore rider of CHILLA NOVA was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the finish of the event.

RACE 8
CALOUNDRA LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT HANDICAP 1400 metres

Following the running of Race 5 jockey G. Baker was stood down by the Club Doctor and was replaced on A LOT OF CLASS by J. Taylor.

CITY RHYTHM was slow to begin.

CITY RHYTHM made the 800 metres turn awkwardly.

Near the 100 metres AYNSLEY GOLD had to be steadied when tightened for room between BELL ROAD and MAGGIE’S LOVE both of which shifted ground.

A post race Veterinary examination of CITY RHYTHM failed to reveal any abnormality.
