S.C.T.C. STEWARDS REPORT SUN.16.06.02

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr G Ireland (Chairman), Mr W. Geggie, Mr. W

WEATHER –OVERCAST TRACK- GOOD

GENERAL: As K Bell was indisposed the following riding replacement was approved. Race 8 – NOBLE MOSES by M. Williamson.

RACE 1: PINE RIVERS MEMORIAL BOWLS CLUB HANDICAP – 1000M.

TOUCH PRINCE was slow to begin.

When racing greenly shortly after the start STAYS ON TOUR shifted out and made heavy contact with SAHARA NOBLE which became unbalanced. As a result SAHARA NOBLE then shifted out and made contact with KING WARRIOR.

Near the 500 metres TOUCH PRINCE had to be steadied off the heels of MY ANNUITY.

TOUCH PRINCE shifted out abruptly making the home turn taking KING WARRIOR wider on the track.

Approaching the 100 metres TOUCH PRINCE which raced greenly throughout the event, shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of KING WARRIOR.

A post race Veterinary inspection of TOUCH PRINCE revealed the gelding to be suffering from respiratory distress.

RACE 2: FLEXICLEAN HANDICAP – 1000M.

BRACKEN GOLD was slow to begin.

MEGARA MOA and BODGIE’S REGRET had to be checked on jumping away when tightened for room between YOUTHFUL LODGER which shifted out and MISS SMUGG which was taken in by BOLD MOLLY.

For some distance rounding the home turn MISS SMUGG was held up for clear running.

At the entrance to the straight MISS SMUGG shifted out to improve and made contact with DORIN DONNA. Apprentice M. Rodd rider of MISS SMUGG was reprimanded and advised he must use more caution when shifting ground in future.

RACE 3: KEYSTAR MOTORS HANDICAP – 1200 M.

.TOP HAT CHARLIE and STAR OF ECHO both jumped away awkwardly.

After passing the 900 metres GABIETTE improved up on to the heels of WEAPON and had to be steadied.

Near the 800 metres STAR OF ECHO had to be checked when tightened for room by BELLEN GIRL which had to be steadied and shifted in after improving up and to the inside of the heels of YODELLER. TOP HAT CHARLIE which was following shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of STAR OF ECHO and made heavy contact with STRONG ROSE forcing STRONG ROSE wider on the track.

A short distance later ROSE OF CONISTON shifted in and made contact with GABIETTE. As a result of this incident ROSE OF CONISTON became unbalanced and shifted out taking STAR OF ECHO out on to the heels of BELLEN GIRL and had to be checked.

Approaching the 600 metres TOP HAT CHARLIE shifted out and bumped STRONG ROSE on two occasions.

A post race Veterinary examination of BRANDY DREAMER revealed the filly to be showing signs of distress.

RACE 4: TERRY ORREAL’S MEATS HANDICAP – 1300M.

CHIEFODEON was slow to begin.

After jumping away awkwardly GORDIAN KNOT shifted out and made heavy contact with CIVICS which shifted out and brushed GAMMONUM.

Shortly after the start PRINCE OF CENTRES commenced to race greenly and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

On two occasions approaching the 800 metres CIVICS improved up on to the heels of ATEOKTAS and had to be steadied.

RACE 5: AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY HANDICAP – 1400M

No racing incidents.

RACE 6: PINE RIVERS MEMORIAL BOWLS CLUB HANDICAP – 1400M.

BOSKY was slow to begin.

After leaving the 900 metres MALUMBA shifted to the outside of RUBINESQUE forcing TELEGRAND and MIDNIGHT FALCON both wider on the track.
From that point MIDNIGHT FALCON was forced to race wide until after entering the straight.

Over the concluding stages TELEGRAND had to be steadied when tightened for room between MALUMBA and BUSH TRIUMPH.

RACE 7: PINE RIVERS MEMORIAL BOWLS CLUB HANDICAP – 1200M.

Shortly after the start KILBRANNAN shifted in and made heavy contact with PRIME INVESTMENT which had to be steadied off the heels of SYDANEE.

Making the 800 metres turn KILBRANNAN shifted out taking DANE WITCH out on to the hind quarters of BREEZE PAST. For some distance following this incident KILBRANNAN continued to race ungenerously.

Making the home turn DANE WITCH was inclined to lay out and had to be steadied off the heels of BREEZE PAST.

A post race Veterinary examination of SYDANEE which performed disappointingly revealed the filly had sustained lacerations to the near hind.

RACE 8: PINE RIVERS MEMORIAL BOWLS CLUB HANDICAP – 1800M.

FLYING ICE was slow to begin.

On jumping away SAGIT HERO, NOBLE MOSES and DRY RED were tightened for room and CITY RHYTHM had to be checked between MR CONNOLLY and LITHE both of which shifted ground.

Making the first turn BILLY CART HILL shifted in and had to be checked off the heels of MR. CONNOLLY. As a result of this incident SAGIT HERO which was following was hampered.

Near the 500 metres CITY RHYTHM improved up on to the heels of LITHE and had to be steadied.

Near the 350 metres LITHE improved up on to the heels of NOBLE MOSES and had to be checked and alter course then shifted in and again had to be steadied off the heels of MR. CONNOLLY.

Near the 200 metres CITY RHYTHM had to shift out when disappointed for a run between BILLY CART HILL and LEGEND MATERIAL.


ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
