GENERAL: As G Colless was indisposed he was replaced as follows:
Race 4: BOASTING J Powell
Race 6 REPRENDRE D Griffin
Race 8 AQUATIC DRIVE K Pope

RACE 1: SIGNWARE HANDICAP - 1600M.

KWILA KNIGHT jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

After leaving the 600 metres SISTER SALVO was tightened for room between BEST APPEAL and TAG AND RELEASE which shifted out slightly.

Close to the finishing line KWILA KNIGHT had to be steadied to avoid the heels of NO STOP LOSS which shifted out.

CROWN WARRIOR was obliged to race wide throughout.

RACE 2: CRAIG MARKER ACCOUNTING PTY LTD HANDICAP - 1600M.

GLAMAINE was slow to begin.

CLOLEFIN blundered on jumping away.

GEORGIA'S HOPE lost the near hind plate during the event.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of BUCK'S CHARM compared to 6 of 10 at Toowoomba on the 9th March 2003 trainer Ross King advised that on that occasion the gelding was forced to race wide and came from a rearward position to finish mid field and at its previous start on the 1st March 2003 BUCK'S CHARM was unable to handle the heavy conditions. He further added that BUCK'S CHARM was looking for further distance and felt that the 1600 metres today was more to the gelding's liking.

RACE 3: YALUMBA PLATE - 1000M.

SHYON and KALINGA JESTER were both slow to begin.

Near the 900 metres PALE FACE EXPRESS had to be steadied when tightened for room between HABITUE and OUTBACK OPUS which shifted in.

Rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight PALE FACE EXPRESS was held up for clear running.

HIACLA was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

BUREAU DE CHARGE bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer Trevor Miller was advised as this was the second time which BUREAU DE CHARGE had bled it will now incur a lifetime ban from racing. BUREAU DE CHARGE was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 4: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE HANDICAP - 1000M.

As apprentice M Rice was stood down by the Club Doctor he was replaced on HEAD AWAY (race 4) by apprentice D Ballard and on FREEWILL (race 5) by apprentice M McDonald.

HEAD AWAY was slow to begin.

MISS LEHAAR shifted in on jumping away and made contact with GEE GEE MACGREGOR.

RACE 5: SLADE BLOODSTOCK HANDICAP - 1300M.

ALL HANDS ON DECK was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start BUZZ ON BY shifted out and made contact with the hind quarters of GENERAL EAGLE then shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of FREEWILL.

Approaching the 1200 metre ALL HANDS ON DECK shifted in and made contact with CARRIBEAN BENNY.

In the middle stages MAXIMIZE had to be restrained off the heels of BAZ ATTACK.

FALCON KNIGHT was inclined to hang out in the middle stages of the event.

Approaching the home turn MAXIMIZE shifted out to improve taking GENERAL EAGLE out on to GO TEMPO which resulted in GENERAL EAGLE being buffeted for room.

When tiring ALL HANDS ON DECK shifted out near the 300 metres inconveniencing QUITE SPECIAL then near the 250 metres ALL HANDS ON DECK shifted in taking MAXIMIZE in on to CARRIBEAN BENNY.

RACE 6: FILLIES, FOOTBALL & FORTY HANDICAP - 1600M.

HULAKAI jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Passing the 1200 metres HULAKAI had to be steadied when tightened by REPRENDRE which was taken in by MAIZCAY MAGIC.

RACE 7: NORTHERN CITY FINANCE PTY LTD HANDICAP - 1200M.

TIMELY WATERS, SAMMY and STRIKE FORCE were all slow to begin.

EMINENT CHEVAL was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

When being eased to obtain a position closer to the rails after leaving the 1000 metres LUCKY LAURIE had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of CLANGER.

RACE 8: MANSELL BULK HAULAGE / NEIL MANSELL LANDSCAP SUPPLIES HANDICAP - 1300M.

LITTLE PIG was slow to begin.

RAW FACTOR was forced to race wide throughout the event.




All winners plus BUREAU DE CHARGE (race 3) and MAIZCAY MAGIC (race 6) were sent to be swabbed.
