RACE 1: KEVIN MCSWEENEY SOLICITORS H'CAP - 1600M

As M. Gray was to be overweight, A. Kennedy was substituted as the rider of TANNER. M. Gray was fined $100.

MELLOSSO was slow to begin.

Leaving the 800m MELLOSSO was obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the event.

RACE 2: LANDSBOROUGH HOTEL H'CAP - 1200M

As H. Watanabe was indisposed through injury, B. Blacker was substituted as the rider of DREWLICIOUS.

KALINGA DAMO jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with OUR MARINA.

DREWLICIOUS jumped away awkwardly.

A short distance after the start RESOUNDING VICTORY shifted in and away from SWEEP CLEAR and crowded KALINGA DAMO on to OUR MARINA.

Leaving the 600m KALINGA DAMO had to be steadied off the heels of SWEEP CLEAR which in turn was eased off the heels of OUR MARINA which shifted out.

DREWLICIOUS was obliged to race wide throughout.

P. Hammersley, the rider of LADY TIME, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 200m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of KALINGA EMMA, resulting in KALINGA EMMA being tightened on to TOOLEBUC and having to be checked. P. Hammersely was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, to commence at midnight on Wednesday, 2 June, and expire at midnight on Sunday, 13 June.

RACE 3: RACING AHEAD WITH TERRY LUCAS H'CAP - 1200M

FROTTAGE was slow to begin.

Approaching the 800m FROTTAGE, which was racing greenly, had to be checked off the heels of SERENE SEA which was taken in slightly by LOVE AND HONOUR which in turn shifted in when being steadied to take a position behind the heels of RECKON I'M READY.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of SERENE SEA, G. Baker advised that the filly was, in his opinion, in a sour mood prior to the start and in the barriers. He further explained that SERENE SEA was reluctant to stretch out throughout the race and was under pressure inside the 800m and did not respond to his riding after being placed under full pressure leaving the 600m. A veterinary examination of SERENE SEA failed to reveal any abnormalities.

For some distance leaving the 600m RECKON I'M READY raced in restricted room to the inside of DUMP 'N' BURN.

A veterinary examination of LOVE AND HONOUR failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 4: ROTARY CLUBS OF ASPLEY, BRIBIE ISLAND & CABOOLTURE PLATE - 1200M

BABY JEDDA, which was unable to be loaded, was declared a late scratching at 1.47 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on BABY JEDDA be refunded, with deductions of 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 6 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets applicable. Trainer D. Heinemann was advised that he must obtain a barrier certificate for BABY JEDDA before its next race start.

A short distance after the start DEPUTY DEAL shifted out and made contact witht the hind quarters of ROYAL PASH.

Leaving the 700m EROICA SINGER had to be steadied to avoid the heels of NORTHICK which shifted in.

RAYMONDS REWARD raced wide throughout.

RACE 5: KMPG H'CAP - 1200M

MISS SEQUALO, REGAL ZANE, PROPHET JEWEL, MAIN DRIVE and FAIRBIT were all tightened for room between TAIPAN RULER and OUTBOARD, both of which jumped awkwardly.

RACE 6: QRSE BRIBIE ISLAND RSL CLUB - BRIBIE'S NO. 1 CLUB H'CAP - 1400M

KOBI COVE reared as the gates opened.

TIMESTO overraced in the early and middle stages.

DECKED IN DIAMONDS was obliged to race wide throughout.


RACE 7: TINTEX H'CAP - 1800M

FIL THE BILL was declared a late scratching at 8 a.m., Trainer T. Hamade was fined the sum of $100 for failing to scrach the gelding by the prescribed time.

P. Hammersley, the rider of 2nd placegetter CALAIS BOUND, was fined $100 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram over his allotted weight.

SOME RED was slow to begin.

N. Day, the rider of KERRI ANNE'S GIRL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 1600m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of DAWSON ROAD, resulting in DAWSON ROAD having to be checked. CALAIS BOUND, which was racing to the inside of DAWSON ROAD, was also hampered and lost its position as a consequence. N. Day was suspended for a period of 8 meetings, to commence immediately, and expire at midnight on Friday, 11 June.

Passing the 1200m CALAIS BOUND had to shift in to avoid DAWSON ROAD which in turn shifted in abruptly.

KOUNTHEKASH raced wide throughout.

RACE 8: CORNETT'S IGA SUPERMARKET H'CAP - 1400M

GOLDEN FAWN jumped in at the start and bumped MIDNIGHT WARRIOR.

For some distance after the start MAKES ME DIZZY raced in restricted room between MCLAREN VALE and TEKWILA which shifted in.

Approaching the 150m MCLAREN VALE had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of I'M FIGHTIN which shifted in. Apprentice R. Mason, the rider of I'M FIGHTIN, was cautioned and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

RACE 9: MARTIN JONKERS MOTORS H'CAP - 1000M

As K. Pope was engaged to ride TEEN A TE and ROADIE RAN, he was subsequently replaced on ROADIE RAN by D. Ballard. Stewards accepted the explanation given for this dual engagement.

TEEN A TE and EBO both jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

NO MORE DREAMS also jumped away awkwardly.

Leaving the 800m TEEN A TE had to be steadied off the heels of COMEBACK SISTER which shifted in.

ROADIE RAN was obliged to race wide throughout.

Approaching the 600m EBO commenced to overrace and had to be restrained off the heels of ESEMES.

After entering the straight TEEN A TE was obliged to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.

Inside the 200m MAXY LEGS had to be steadied off the heels of HEAVENLY DANE which shifted out under pressure.

A post-race veterinary examination of TEEN A TE revealed the filly to be suffering mild respiratory distress.

All winners were sent to be swabbed.
