Race 1: JAMES SQUIRE QTIS TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP ? 1000M 1st ? Dulacca Diva 2nd ? Streets of Fire 3rd ? Bloomin Lovely 4th ? Azzason

STAR VALOUR and RETAINER were both slow to begin.

ALWAYS WAITING jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start DULACCA DIVA which was racing greenly, moved in and made contact with AZZASON.

At the 600 metres AZZASON, which was racing greenly, shifted in abruptly causing BLOOMIN LOVELY to be steadied and as a result D Brown (STREETS OF FIRE) had to take action to avoid heels.

Passing the 600 metres STAR VALOUR struck the running rail.

Approaching the 450 metres GRAND THEFT shifted out making contact with ALWAYS WAITING.

STREETS OF FIRE was held up for clear running on the home turn.

Approaching the 250 metre CLAREBELLA raced in restricted room between IRISH SPRINTER which shifted in and RETAINER.

At the 250 metres STREETS OF FIRE had to alter course when BLOOMIN LOVELY which was racing greenly, shifted out abruptly.


Race 2: XXXX BITTER PLATE THREE YEAR OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP ? 1000M. 1st ? Liteasair 2nd ? Good Association 3rd ? Rock the Clock4th ?Kostalu

I'M A NUISANCE and JANLARI were both slow to begin.

On jumping DYNASTY ROYAL shifted out and made contact with ROCK THE CLOCK.

BATANGAS which was slow to begin had to be steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of KAITEKI DANCING which jumped away awkwardly and shifted out.

A short distance after the start ROCK THE CLOCK and BLACK MALOO were tightened for room between DYNASTY ROYAL and FLINDERS both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the 600 metres DYNASTY ROYAL had to be eased from the heels of FLINDERS.

Approaching the home turn BLACK MALOO shifted out and made contact with BATANGAS resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

At the 300 metres LITEASAIR was held up for a run between GOOD ASSOCIATION which shifted out and ALL HANDS ON DECK whiln shifted in. Shortly after LITEASAIR obtained a run to the inside of GOOD ASSOCIATION and ALL HANDS ON DECK both of which shifted in abruptly.

Apprentice B Hull rider of I'M A NUISANCE dropped his whip at the 150 metres.

FLINDERS shifted out in the straight.

A post race Veterinary examination of BATANGAS failed to reveal any abnormality. BATANGAS was sent to be swabbed.

Race 3: TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY THREE YEAR OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP ?1200M. 1st ? Gallant Gayle 2nd ? MARY'S ME MUM 3rd ? SAILOR GAL 4th ? SEQUALO BUCK

Jockey M Wood rider of SWEET SACHET was fined the sum of $200 in that he was found guilty of changing gear after weighing out. (AR 188A)

MARY'S ME MUM and CHECKED both dwelt at the start.

Approaching the 800 metres MARY'S ME MUM had to be eased off the heels of SWEET SACHET which had to be checked as a result of GALLANT GAYLE easing when TREMORS rolled in.

Approaching the 200 metres SAILOR GAL moved out and made contact with GUILDERS.


Near the 200 metres CELESTIAL ROAD moved out taking GREY SANTA wider on the track.

At the 200 metres when attempting a run to the inside of TREMORS where there was insufficient room SWEET SACHET had to be checked.

Jockey M Crawford was fined the sum of $200 for using what Stewards deemed to be an excessive amount of the whip on CELESTIAL ROAD. (AR 137A).

GALLANT GAYLE lost the near side hind plate in running.

A post race Veterinary examination of GILDERS which was galloped on near the 200 metres revealed a laceration to the near hindleg which required treatment.

Race 4: HAHN PREMIUM MAIDEN HANDICAP ? 1400M.

SECRET PASSER was declared a late scratching at 8.20am by order of the Stewards. Trainer D Newham will be interviewed by Stewards regarding the scratching at a time to be advised.

As jockey C Small failed to arrive on course due to traffic he was replaced on FIRST KISS by jockey M Wood.

Trainer P Bell was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for MISS CICERAO by the prescribed time.

Shortly after the start HATTIE and FIRBIDDEN PLACES made contact.

Approaching the 1000 metres ZAFFERANO became awkward on the heels of HATTIE.

Approaching the 800 metres ZAFFERANO was inclined to over race.

Rounding the 800 metres turn FIRST KISS had to be steadied off the heels of DISCO KEN. Jockey S Shield rider of DISCO KEN was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

At the top of the straight ARAGOG was tightened for room between FORBIDDEN PLACES and KALINGA DAMO.

At the 250 metres and again at the 150 metres FORBIDDEN PLACES moved out and made contact with KALINGA DAMO on several occasions.

Jockey M Wood rider of FIRST KISS was reprimanded under AR 137a for trying to force a run to the inside of MISS MICERO approaching the 150 metres where there was insufficient room.

Approaching the 100 metres and again at the winning post FORBIDDEN PLACES andKALINGA DAMO brushed.




Race 5: XXXX CLASS 2 HANDICAP ? 1800M.

1st?PHOENWRULE 2nd?WILLOWVIEW 3rd ?HIDDEN JEWELS 4th ? OCTONE

Betting was delayed when it was reported that OCTONE and TOO MUCH TROUBLE were late on course due to traffic. After arriving both horses were inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.

WILLOWVIEW which reared in the barriers threw its head in the air and lost ground at the start. WILLOWVIEW then commenced to over race in the early stages of the event.

At the start PHOENIX RULE made heavy contact with OCTONE forcing that horse in onto HIDDEN JEWELS.

UELEVE was forced to race four wide from the 800 metres to the 600 metres.

PHOENIX RULE shifted ground over the final 100 metres.

Race 6: TOOHEYS NEW OPEN HANDICAP 1800M.

l st ? MAIZCAY MAGIC 2nd ? FINNIGAN 3rd ? GLADMAC 4th ? COLD START

FINNIGAN was slow to begin.

COLD START jumped away awkwardly making with GREY HOMBRE.

FINAL DEMAND began to over race and pull hard in the early and middle stages of the event.

At the 1200 metres STEAL A MARCH moved in causing COLD START to ease on to MAIZCAY MAGIC. Jockey D Gay rider of STEAL A MARCH was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

MAIZCAY MAGIC was held up from the home turn until the 300 metres.

Race 7: HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT CLASS 2 HANDICAP ? 1200M.

1st ? THUNDERCLOUDS 2nd ? FAIRHILL 3rd ? STOOD UP 4th ? ARMIDALE HEIGHTS.

Prior to the start SECRET RAIN sprung the off hind plate and when being re?shod became agitated and excited. As a consequence Stewards gave permission for both hind plates to be removed and starting time was delayed by one minute.

COOPER KING and STOOD UP made contact on jumping.

Apprentice A Russo had to take hold of SECRET RAIN after travelling 50 metres due to the fact that RADOMA was laying in.

VASSPOUR had to be checked shortly after the start between SUMMER OF LOVE and SHOW POKER which was taken out by WITLACE.

Approaching the 850 metres PETER JAMES rolled in resulting in




THUNDERCLOUDS having to be eased and VASSPOUR which was following to be restrained.

Approaching the 700 metres ARMIDALE HEIGHTS began to pull extremely hard.

At the 500 metres ARMIDALE HEIGHTS laid out and had to be eased off the heels of RUGGER.

Approaching the 100 metres THUNDERCLOUDS rolled out under pressure.

Race 8: XXXX GOLD CLASS 1 HANDICAP ? 1600M.

1st ? SCHNEIDEN 2nd ? MR KISEKI 3rd ? MISS LEHAAR 4th ?ZOOLANDER

At the start MR KISEKI became awkward and lost ground when tightened for room between ZOOLANDER which jumped out and REGAL SECRET which jumped in.

RAYMONDS REWARD was forced to race wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

ZOOLANDER over raced and pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

After passing the 200 metres SHE'S BEAUTIFUL became unbalanced between MISS LEHAAR and SCHNEIDEN which shifted in slightly.

ALL WINNERS PLUS BATANGAS (Race 2) WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
