Race 1: K. Smith & Son Jewellers Class 3 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Buck's Secret 2nd - Volcanic Angel 3rd - Good Planning 4th - Afleet Zephyr

GOOD PLANNING jumped away awkwardly.

GOOD PLANNING, which bled from both nostrils during the event, will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.


Race 2: Seaside Villas Pty Ltd QTIS 2-YO Maiden H'cap - 1000.
1st - Fear Of Flying 2nd - Admiralty's Girl 3rd - Top Gun Lane 4th - Prince Of Yodells

As P. Hammersley was injured, D. Griffin was substituted as the rider of MATARANKA, J. Byrne as the rider of INTERMAGIC (Race 3) and M. Carson as the rider of SUMMER OF LOVE (Race 7).

BOLD RED and DESERT MONARCH, which were fractious in the barriers, were examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

PRINCE OF YODELLS jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.

DESERT MONARCH was slow to begin.

COAT TAILS and FLINDERS MAGIC came together on jumping away.

BOLD RED was crowded for room on jumping away between KALINGA HEAVEN and SWEET IRISH, both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the 600m., GOLDEN POINT had to be steadied off the heels of FLINDERS MAGIC.

After passing the 300m., SWEET IRISH had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BOLD RED, which shifted out abruptly


Race 3: The Magazine Publishing Co. Open H'cap - 1600m.
1st - Intermagic 2nd - Finnigan 3rd - Sagit Hero 4th - Awesome Warrior

Due to a racebook error, B. Hull was shown as the rider of AWESOME WARRIOR when in fact D. Griffin was to be the rider of that gelding.

HEART OF LIGHT was slow to begin.

Following this event, the track rating was upgraded to good.


Race 4: Crushers Leagues Club Maiden 3YO Maiden Plate - 1200m.
1st - Mister Raw 2nd - Celestial Road 3rd - Down To Earth 4th - Damah Gem

ALOE BOY was severely crowded for room at the start between CELESTIAL ROAD and SAILOR GAL, which shifted out. In this incident, CELESTIAL ROAD became unbalanced.

DAMAH GEM jumped outwards at the start, hampering VETTORI'S IMAGE.

DOWN TO EARTH was slow to begin.

BLACK RAVEN jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 800m., DYNASTY ROYAL commenced to hang out and shifted out, making heavy contact with the hind quarters of FEAR THE COUNT. DYNASTY ROYAL then had to be checked and shifted out abruptly across the heels of FEAR THE COUNT, making heavy contact with PRICELESS TIMES. BLACK RAVEN and SAILOR GAL were forced wider as a result of this incident.

A post-race veterinary examination of ALOE'S BOY revealed a laceration to the inside of the off fore leg.

The club's veterinary surgeon also reported that FEAR THE COUNT had sustained a a laceration to the off hock.

Race 5: Trexcard Australia Class 2 H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Naval Seal 2nd - Cha Cha D'Amour 3rd - Waikato 4th - Mr Fahrenheit

As D. Browne was to be overweight, K. Pope was substituted as the rider of WAIKATO. D. Browne was fined the sum of $100.

No incidents.


Race 6: Caloundra Blocks Investments Class 1 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Carina Donna 2nd - Kalinga Teagan 3rd - Shovoluck 4th - Zippy Eyed

Trainer N. Petersen was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for PARKES by the prescribed time.

REGAL DRAW jumped away awkwardly.

BLU SPY was slow to begin.

SHOVOLUCK jumped outwards and made contact with ZIPPY EYED at the start.

KALINGA TEAGAN was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight.

REGAL DRAW was forced to raced wide throughout.


Race 7: Golden Beach Newsagency Class H'cap - 1400m.
1st - Taisho 2nd - Stood Up 3rd - Secret Rain 4th - Miracle Sound

STOOD UP knuckled on jumping away.

Near the 250m., SECRET RAIN was impeded for a run between DIAMOND TIME and MIRACLE SOUND, which shifted in slightly.

DIAMOND TIME was forced to race 3 wide throughout.


Race 8: Maleny Hotel Maiden H'cap - 1600m.
1st - Tennessee John 2nd - Overtothree 3rd - French Chef 4th - Little Legend

Trainer G. Alati was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for OVERTOTHREE by the prescribed time.

Trainer D. Sutton was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for THUNDERESS by the prescribed time.

Due to transport difficulties, Y. Yamazaki was unable to fulfil his engagment on FRENCH CHEF and G. McKeon was substituted as the rider of that gelding.

FAIR EGO jumped away awkwardly.

OVERTOTHREE jumped outwards at the start and made contact with LONELY SKY

STAR FERRY, GEM OF THE WOODS and TENNESSEE JOHN raced wide in the early and middle stages.




Approaching the 600m., ALCIPPE shifted out to improve around the heels of GEM OF THE WOODS, taking OVERTOTHREE out on to ANNIVERSARY LOT, which had to be steadied to avoid that horse's heels.

A. Russo, rider of BURNHAM WOOD accidentally dropped his whip shortly after passing the 400m..
