WEATHER - Fine TRACK RATING - Slow RAIL - Out 6 metres for the entire circuit.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
As apprentice B Hull was indisposed riding replacements were made as per the Stewards' summary sheet.

As S Katsidis failed to arrive on course replacements were made as per the Stewards' summary sheet.

Race 1: GOLDEN BEACH NEWSAGENCY MAIDEN PLATE (1) - 1000M
1st - RISING STORM 2nd - YOUNG LION 3rd - KALINGA BLAZE 4th - GENERAL GEN

The start of Race 1 was delayed as a result of the moveable rail having to be repaired due to heavy winds.

ARCHJITE (R Hancock) and KING OF SPURS (D Griffin) jumped away awkwardly.

DECADEL (M Rice) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start PICADUKE (B Pengelly) shifted in and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of YOUNG LION (A Merritt).

A short distance later PICADUKE (B Pengelly) was inclined to hang in and approaching the 700 metres shifted in resulting in KALINGA BLAZE (B Thomson) having to be steadied. KALINGA BLAZE then began to race ungenerously and shifted out slightly hampering GENERAL GEN (L Deguara) which was following.

Rider R Hancock reported something may have been amiss with ARCHJITE. A post race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

As Anthony Merritt was stood down by the Club Doctor following the running of race 1 he was replaced on PRINCESS ARI (Race 2) by R Hancock and on BEEMER BLONDE (Race 9) by L Deguara.

Race 2: GOLDEN BEACH NEWSAGENCY MAIDEN PLATE (2) - 1000M .
1st - ENVELOPE 2nd - PEDRO'S SPECTRUM 3rd - NEARCTIC FLIGHT 4th - PARDY JESTER

On return to scale a protest was lodged by M Usher rider of 2nd placed PEDRO'S SPECTRUM against ENVELOPE ridden by K Pope being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 150 metres.
After hearing all the evidence and viewing the film Stewards were of the opinion that ENVELOPE shifted in near the 150 metres however there was no contact made and PEDRO'S SPECTRUM, when racing greenly, had over reacted and shifted out.
Stewards therefore dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared.

KOKODA TRACK (A Best) and HURRICANE HANNAH (L Fyfe) were both slow to begin.

KALINGA REGAL (M Rice) jumped away awkardly.

Approaching the 600 metres KALINGA REGAL had to be steadied off the heels of KICK (B Pengelly) which shifted in slightly.

Near the 300 metres ENVELOPE (K Pope) shifted out hampering PRINCESS ARI (R Hancock).

Race 3: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1600M.
1st - GO GAZZA 2nd - SPECIAL LANGFUHR 3rd - THAT'S MY MUM 4th - MUKQUIN

Following the running of Race 2 jockey K Pope was stood down for race 3 by the Club Doctor and replaced on MUKQUIN by D Griffin.

ADDICTED LADY (R Plumb) was obliged to race three wide throughout the event.

Race 4: ARCHERS BODY CORPORATE MANAGEMENT P/L MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1400M .
1st - BALM 2nd - ANNIES ATTITUDE 3rd - IN THE RING 4th - LUNACAMPO

AIRANBURN (C Kearney) blundered on jumping and shifted in brushing RAW ABILITY ( J Byrne).

JOIE DE VICTOIRE (M Palmer) was slow to begin.

On return to scale IN THE RING was found to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer M Mair was advised the gelding will now incur the mandatory three month ban from racing. IN THE RING was sent to be swabbed.


Following the running of Race 4 jockey K Pope was stood down by the Club Doctor for the remainder of the meeting and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards' summary sheet.


Race 5: MIX FM CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 2200M.
1st - LOPPER 2nd - FULL RETAIL 3rd - WILLIEMAKEIT 4th - NAYIZNA

LOPPER (C Pay), FREEWILL (D Griffin) and MIGHTY NATURAL (C Eaton) all began awkwardly.

STRICTLY DRY (N Evans) was slow to begin.

Near the 450 metres LOPPER (C Pay) had to be steadied off the heels of EXTINGUISHER (R Pittman) which was inclined to hang in and near the 350 metres EXTINGUISHER shifted in hampering ANCIENT FAEROE (M Palmer) and ROYALTY MISS (Le Deguara).

Race 6: SPC CLEANING CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1300M.
1st - STOOD UP 2nd - ESEMES 3rd -REGAL SECRET 4th - AMAN'S GOTTA DO

REGAL CORINTO (N Evans) was tightened at the start between STIGMA (R Plumb) and PICCOLO DANCER (M Palmer) both of which shifted ground.

ESEMES (B Pengelly) began awkwardly and lost ground.

STOOD UP (E Dredge) and REGAL SECRET (J Byrne) made contact on jumping away.

AMAN'S GOTTA DO (M Morris) commenced awkwardly.

ABLE KING (C Kearney) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 200 metres REGAL SECRET (J Byrne) became unbalanced and shifted out abruptly. ESEMES (B Pengelly) which was following shifted out and away to avoid the heels of REGAL SECRET.

Race 7: TRANQUIL PARK RESORT MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M.
1st - DAREHTY 2nd - CREMARIE 3rd - POWDERWING 4th - SIGRUN

SIGRUN (B Pengelly) and OVERTOTHREE (C Eaton) were both slow to begin.

LIFE WITH DEXTER (M Usher) jumped in at the start making contact with ABSOLUTE PARADISE (C Schumacher).

POWDERWING (H Hamada) jumped away awkwardly.

When attempting a narrow run between TOOLEBUC (L Deguara) and OVERTOTHREE (C Eaton) near the 550 metres ABSOLUTE PARADISE (C Schumacher) had to be steadied.

Approaching the 200 metres CREMARIE (B Thomson) shifted out under pressure hampering OVERTOTHREE (C Eaton).

CREMARIE (B Thomson) and TOOLEBUC (L Deguara) were obliged to race three wide throughout the event.

Race 8: ALLROAD SURFACES COUNTRY CUP SERIES HANDICAP - 1200M.
1st - ZOOBINI 2nd - PROMISING JOY 3rd - OMNITRADER 4th - JUST AWE

PRINCE OF ASHES (M Gray), AMAIZCAY (M Palmer) and ROW BOAT (R Pittman) were slow to begin.

ACTIVE COMBAT (G Palmer) jumped away awkwardly.

ARCHER'S PRIDE (M Morris) and CARLINO (R McMahon) brushed on jumping.

OMNITRADER (D Green) had a tendency to lay in during the early and middle stages of the event.

Race 9: SLADE BLOODSTOCK CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000M.
1st -STALWART QUEEN 2nd WILL IT REIGN 3rd-FEAR OF FLYING 4th- AIR SPECIFIC

Due to a printing error the starting time for Race 9 was stated in the race book as 4.43pm whereas it should have been 4.35pm.

Following the running of Race 7 Clayton Schumacher was stood down by the Club Doctor and replaced on STALWART QUEEN by C Kearney.

After being a little slow to begin WILL IT REIGN (N Thomas) was hampered by FOR CERTAIN (B Thomson) which shifted out at the start.

BEEMER BLONDE (L Deguara) jumped in the air at the start and shifted out brushing ZEANG (R Mason).

At the start DOWN THE LINE (H Hamada), BREAKFAST TALK (R Plumb) and CIRCLE THE WAGONS (M Morris) were all tightened between WANT A BUCK (C Eaton) and STALWART QUEEN (C Kearney) both of which shifted ground.
As a result of this, DOWN THE LINE shifted out a short distance later and made heavy contact with BREAKFAST TALK which became inconvenienced and then raced in restricted room for some distance.

Leaving the 400 metres BREAKFAST TALK (R Plumb) and DROP OF HENNESSY (M Gray) made contact on a number of occasions when both runners were inclined to shift ground. As a result BREAKFAST TALK became unbalanced and blundered near the 200 metres.
