SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
As M. Gray was unable to fulfil his ride on ALCIPPE in Race 6 at the Esk meeting on 16 July, he was fined $100 under AR. 85B.
Race 1: CENTURY 21 PRESTIGE PROPERTIES BUDERIM & TWIN
WATERS H’CAP - 1400M
1st - Shower Of Champers 2nd - Vettori’s Image 3rd - Wallan Road 4th - Heureux
As M. Gray was to be overweight, K. Pope was subsituted as the rider of CAXTON STREET. M. Gray was fined $300 under AR. 120(b).
CAXTON STREET (K. Pope) was slow to begin.
LION’S REIGN (A. Pattillo) jumped with its head in the air and lost ground.
WALLAN ROAD (C. Schumacher) commenced to over race and raced very awkwardly approaching the 800m and rolled in and hit the fence, and again hit the fence at the 600m.
ROYAL SEQUENCE (D. Hawkes) raced three wide and tailed off at the top of the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities for the horse’s poor performance.
Race 2: LINDMARK CONSTRUCTION SERVICES 3YO & UP MAIDEN PLATE -100DM
1st Pass The Stone 2nd - Alvarado 3rd - Jack Fell Down 4th - Noosa Blue
Trainer M. Thexton was fined $100 under LR. 70 for failing to declare T. Treichel as the rider of GIVITANAME by the prescribed time.
IRGUN EXPRESS (K. Pope) jumped out at the start, making contact with GIVITANAME (T. Treichel), taking that horse out on to MISS DAKOTA (R. Hancock), which made heavy contact with PASS THE STONE (J. Byrne), resulting in PASS THE STONE becoming unbalanced and racing awkwardly for a few strides.
MINLANI (C. Eaton) jumped in the air and lost ground at the start.
NOOSA BLUE (M. Rice) was also slow to begin.
EXPRESSFUL (P. Lindeberg) hung out throughout.
Approaching the 500m MINLANI began to overrace and shifted in brushing MISS DAKOTA, then shifted out taking NOOSA BLUE wider on the track.
Approaching the 300m PASS THE STONE was held up for clear running by JACK FELL DOWN (M. Morris) which rolled in slightly.
Race 3: AUSCARE PHARMACY GROUP QTIS 2Y0 H’CAP - 1300M
1st - Make A Buck 2nd - Kiseki Striker 3rd - La Belle Vitesse 4th - Hurricane Hannah
As the start was effected SILVER LION, which had been fractions in the barriers, reared in the air, striking the front gate and dislodging J. Byrne. Prior to correct weight being declared, stewards viewed the official race video and interviewed jockey J. Byrne, trainer B. McLachlan and starter R. Huxham and declared the horse a definite runner. SILVER LION must perform in a trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before starting again. On returning to the enclosure, J. Byrne was examined by the Club’s medical officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
Approaching the 800m RISING STORM (M. Morris) commenced to over race when being steadied and shifted in, making contact with the running rail, and then shifted out abruptly, making contact with WHYDINYA (A. Merritt) and forcing DRAGUNOV (T. Treichel) wider on the track.
FEAR OF FLYING (K. Pope) hung out on the 800m turn.
Race 4: CABOOLTURE SPORTS CLUB CLASS I H’CAP - 1200M
1st - Brosero 2nd - Spirit Of Thong 3rd - Drop Of Hennessy 4th - Sheza Planet
Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 under LR. 70 for failing to declare A. Merritt as the rider of CLEEV by the prescribed time.
CLEEV (A. Merritt) and SHEZA PLANET (K. Pope) made contact at the start.
SILVER CENTUZA (M. Smith-Lester) jumped awkwardly.
Shortly after the start CLEEV became awkward when tightened for room to the inside
of SILVER CENTUZA, and then rolled out, losing ground.
THREE COINS (R. McMahon) and DIAMOND LAD (M. Palmer) were obliged to race wide in the middle stages.
Approaching the 800m COOL FUR (K. Wharton) became awkward and raced ungenerously, striking the running rail on two occasions between the 800m and the 600m.
Approaching the 800m SILVER CENTUZA hung out.
Approaching the winning post DROP OF HENNESSY (A. Pattillo) rolled out, brushing
ALSSANCE (C. Kearney).
Race 5: THE ORGANIC CAFE OPEN H’CAP - 1600M
1st - Cut A Caper 2nd - Danefull 3rd - Clanger 4th - Cold Start
Trainer G. Cornish was fined $100 under LR. 70 for failing to declare C. Eaton as the rider of SHOW MARTIAL by the prescibed time.
SON OF ROSSI (C. Kearney) was slow to jump.
Approaching the 1200m CUTA CAPER (A. Pattillo) rolled in on to SHOW MARTIAL (C. Eaton), resulting in CRAIGLEA LITE (B. Thomson) racing in restricted room on the fence.
At the 100am SON OF ROSSI became awkward on the heels of CRAIGLEA LITE. Approaching the 800m SHOW MARTIAL commenced to over race and then raced wide in the middle stages of the event.
Near the 800m CRAIGLEA LITE rolled in and struck the running rail on two occasions.
Race 6: GARRY CRICK MERCEDES-BENZ CLASS 4 H’CAP - 1200M
1st - Thebarefootbushman 2nd – Rautai’s Warrior 3rd - Jade City 4th - Discord
On return to scale, R. McMahon, the rider of 2nd placegetter RAUTAI’S WARRIOR, lodged a protest against THEBAREFOOTBUSHMAN (J. Byrne) being declared the winner, alleging interference from the 300m to the winning post. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the official race video, stewards found that the amount of interference suffered did not warrant a reversal of the Judge’s placings due to the fact that RAUTAI’S WARRIOR had moved out making contact with THEBAREFOOTBUSHMAN on both occasions and therefore dismissed the objection.
JADE CITY (A. Pattillo) began awkwardly and jumped out at the start, taking INTER THE FRAY (B. Thomson) out on to OUT THERE (C. Schumacher).
At the 800m POWER EXPRESS (A. Russo) rolled out and both POWER EXPRESS and ESEMES (L. Fyfe) were obliged to race wide in the middle and latter stages of the event.
At the 800m INTER THE FRAY commenced to overrace and had to be eased off the heels of runners in front.
Rounding the home turn RAUTA WARRIOR (R. McMahon) rolled out, taking THEBAREFOOTBUSHMAN (J. Byrne) wider on the track.
Approaching the 300m RAUTAI’S WARRIOR shifted out, making contact with THEBAREFOOTBUSHMAN.
Approaching the 150m RAUTAI’S WARRIOR rolled out making contact with THEBAREFOOTBUSHMAN which became unbalanced for a few strides.
Race 7: CLUBB COOLUM BEACH RESORT CLASS 2 H’CAP - 1000M
1st - Dawn’s Miss 2nd - In Order 3rd - Taabinga Lass 4th - Kalinga Teagan
Approaching the 150m RAYMONDS REWARD (R. Hancock), SAPPHIRE PEAK (C. Spry) and MIRACLE SOUND (M. Morris) were all tightened for room between SOCIETY JOE (A. Russo) and FLAMENCO QUEEN (M. Palmer), both of which shifted ground. In this incident COOPER KING (M. Gray) had to be eased off the heels of SOCIETY JOE, and MISS DA NANG (R. Mason), which was following, had to be eased from the heels of MIRACLE SOUND.
COOPER KING lost its offside hind plate in running.
Race 8: ENSTIL FINANCIAL STRATEGIES CLASS I H’CAP - 1600M
1st - Now You See It 2nd - The Postmaster 3rd - Greenlaw 4th - Major Star
Trainer G. Ryan was fined $100 under LR. 70 for failing to declare D. Griffin as the rider of NOW YOU SEE IT by the prescribed time.
SPARK OF ETERNITY (N. Thomas) was slow to begin.
LION LADY (A. Pattillo) jumped in the air and began awkwardly.
MAJOR STAR (C. Spry) and SIRRIO (A. Merritt) brushed on jumping away.
SPARK OF ETERNITY and SANDWALKER (K. Pope) were caught wide in the middle stages.
At the 350m HIP HOP ANONYMOUS (R. McMahon) and LION LADY came together and brushed.
