SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Trainer G. Alati was fined $100 for failing to scratch TAKING IT EASY by the prescribed time. AR114.
Race 1: Breast Cancer Network of Australia 3yo & Up Maiden Plate – 1000m
1st – Proud Hunter 2nd – Lunacampo 3rd – Miss Sancerre 4th – Chardonair
MISS SANCERRE (R. Mason) and LAKOTA BELLE (T. Muto) were tightened for room at the start between IRISH DIAMOND (K. Pope) and BOLD ACT (B. Johnson), which jumped away awkwardly.
LADY AURA (N. Summers) shifted in and made contact with the running rail on more than one occasion in the vicinity of the 600m.
MISS SANCERRE (R. Mason) an LUNACAMPO (T. Huxham) brushed at the 200m.
Race 2: Yalumba Wines Maiden 3yo & Up Plate – 1000m
1st – Comme Ci Comme Ca 2nd – Rose Of Danrok 3rd – Condamine Beauty 4th – Noble Quest
Stewards approved a late gear change of removal of blinkers for ROSE OF DANROK.
COMME CI COMME CA (K. Wharton) was inclined to hang out at the 600m.
NOBLE QUEST (K. Pope) had to be steadied after improving up on to the heels of JANES VICTORY (B. Agland) at the 300m.
MAJESTIC DANCER (G. Farrer) was caught wide throughout the race.
Race 3: Mary Henzell Real Estate Maiden H’cap – 1400m
1st – Mr Bubble 2nd – My Lion Angel 3rd – Airline Express 4th –Royal Fox
Stewards approved a late gear change of blinkers and tongue-tie on for ZACHELLE.
FRISCO DARLING (M. Morris) and HOPPO (M. Cahill) were slow to begin.
FOREST CHIEF (B. Pengelly), LIQUID LUCK (T. Huxham) and ZACHELLE (A. Erhart) all began awkwardly.
HOPPO improved up on to the heels of TO THE INNES (K. Pope) at the 800m and had to be steadied.
ZACHELLE was momentarily tightened for room near the 800m when DANGEROUS PLEASURE (M. Palmer) shifted in.
Over the concluding stages, HOPPO had to be steadied off the heels of FRISCO DARLING (M. Morris), which shifted in.
M. Rice, rider of MY LION ANGEL, accidentally dropped his whip at the 200m.
AUDWIN (J. Bowditch), LIQUID LUCK and AIRLINE EXPRESS (C. Eaton) were forced to race 3 wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4: Hats By Tracy Mac Class 1 H’cap – 1600m
1st – My First Fifteen 2nd – Aquareine 3rd – Justdane 4th – El Abanico
EL ABANICO (K. Pope) and OUR REFLECTION (J. Taylor) were tightened for room at the start when MEADOW WHISPER (J. Bowditch) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.
Near the 1200m, COLEYVILLE ROAD (A. Erhart) was momentarily tightened for room when racing to the inside of MEADOW WHISPER (J. Bowditch), which steadied from the heels of MY FIRST FIFTEEN (M. Cahill), which shifted in.
At the 400m, THE COUTES WAY (L. Morrison) had to be steadied across the heels of AQUAREINE (K. Wharton), which shifted in momentarily.
APPEASE (M. Palmer) was caught 3 wide for the majority of the race.
Stewards question J. Hoopert (PALMWOODS) and R. Mason (LINKSFIELD) regarding the riding tactics adopted after both horses led the field by a considerable distance before weakening in the straight. J. Hoopert and R. Mason stated that their instructions were to lead, however when it became obvious that the pace was excessive, both endeavoured to settle their mounts but were unable to do so due to both horses racing fiercely. R. Mason added that LINKSFIELD raced in blinkers today after a considerable time and this may have had a bearing on the performance. Stewards noted both explanations.
Race 5: Zonta Caloundra City Class 1 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Migaloo 2nd – Leelinchin 3rd – Mr Rumpole 4th – Boxing Day
COTOPAXI was declared a late scratching at 1.55 p.m. on veterinary advice after the gelding reared up in the barriers, sustaining a laceration to the off fore leg. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on COTOPAXI were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of successful win and place bets. Trainer J. Wright was advised that she would be required to produce a barrier certificate and veterinary clearance for COTOPAXI prior to racing again.
Trainer L. Gough’s representative was cautioned for incorrectly presenting DABBLIN LANE with blinkers.
BENDIS (T. Huxham) began awkwardly.
SUBTLE GLANCE (K. Wharton) shifted out at the start, making contact with MR RUMPOLE (K. Pope).
SLUGGER (P. Edwards) was inclined to hang out shortly after the start, inconveniencing DABBLIN LANE (T. Muto) and BOLD ARROW (M. Cahill).
BENDIS improved up on to the heels of SANDY’S REWARD (O. Turpin) at the 450m and shifted out, making contact with STROLL BY.
DABBLIN LANE shifted in and brushed the rail at the 800m.
PRINCESS ALINA (B. Pengelly), SANDY’S REWARD and STROLL BY (I. French) were all caught wide for the majority of the race.
SLUGGER again hung out at the 800m, inconveniencing MIGALOO (M. Palmer) and BOLD ARROW. The horse further shifted out on entering the straight. A post race veterinary examination of SLUGGER failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 6: Opals Down Under QTIS 3yo Class 6 H’cap – 1800m
1st – Scattergun 2nd – Hardrock Diamond 3rd – Time And Dandy 4th – Innocent By Birth
Stewards questioned trainer K. Smith regarding the late notification of rider for RANGEFIRE. After considering the matter, stewards were of the opinion there may have been extenuating circumstances and therefore took no further action.
SUPREME COCKTAIL (A. Erhart) overraced in the early stages.
CALL GIRL (J. Bowditch) and SUPREME COCKTAIL (A. Erhart) were caught wide for the majority of the race.
HARDROCK DIAMOND (B. Pengelly) shifted ground in the run to the finish.
Race 7: Breast Cancer Research Class 4 H’cap – 1000m
1st – Lasting Luck 2nd – Red Hot Pistol 3rd – Les Jeux D’Esprit 4th – Power Express
RED HOT PISTOL (K. Pope) and KALINGA COUNTY (M. Rice) brushed on jumping away.
ARMIDALE HEIGHTS (O. Turpin) became awkward on the heels of LES JEUX D’ESPRIT shortly after the start when that horse eased shortly after the start, resulting in ARMIDALE HEIGHTS shifting out, tightening BE MAGIC (J. Bowditch) out on to RED HOT PISTOL.
RED HOT PISTOL overraced and pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.
ARMIDALE HEIGHTS became awkward on the heels of KALINGA COUNTY at the 600m.
POWER EXPRESS (M. Morris) raced 3 wide for the majority of the event.
Race 8: QRSE Crushers Leagues Club Open H’cap – 1300m
1st – Triple Pe 2nd – Active Combat 3rd – Allegro Spiritoso 4th – Forever Bill
UMAPRINCE (S. Apthorpe) was slow to begin.
At the start, GENERALISSIMO (G. Farrer) made contact with ALLEGRO SPIRITOSO (R. McMahon), which began awkwardly and shifted out.
UMAPRINCE (S. Apthorpe) shifted in and made contact with the running rail at the 900m.
UNITE AND PROSPER (K. Wharton) was held up for clear running at a vital stage at the 450m.
IN EXTREMIS (T. Huxham) was caught 3 wide for the majority of the event.
Race 9: Vida Health & Spa Class 3 H’cap - 1400m
1st – Mr Beanwater 2nd – Carry On Ace 3rd – Media Fund 4th – Poppy Power
TAKING IT EASY (A. Erhart) was slow to begin.
A YEN TO WIN (P. Edwards) shifted in at the start, making contact with CARRY ON ACE (O. Turpin).
BURGUNDY PRINCE (M. Cahill) had to be eased off the heels of POPPY POWER (B. Pengelly) at the 1100m when the pace steadied. In this incident, CROWN PRINCE (G. Farrer) had to be steadied off the heels of BURGUNDY PRINCE.
Near the 1000m, TAKING IT EASY had to be steadied off the heels of MISS EVITA (T. Huxham), which was taken in slightly by BETTER LIGHT (J. Bowditch).
