Race 1: REED CONSTRUCTION QUEENSLAND MAIDEN PLATE - 1600m
1st – Zabinski 2nd – Erinese 3rd – Semine 4th – Velozscay
The start was delayed when SWEET REPRISE dislodged apprentice S. Holcombe en route to the barriers. SWEET REPRISE was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12:28 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on SWEET REPRISE be refunded, with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets to apply. Trainer T. Thomas was advised that SWEET REPRISE must officially barrier trial prior to its next start. Apprentice S. Holcombe was subsequently examined by the Club’s medical officer and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
NO FREE LUNCH (A. Merritt) was slow to begin.
VELOZSCAY (I. Coombes) was tightened at the start between CLASS RULER (J. Kropp) and SOUL KING (A. Taylor), both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 800m MINI STORM (C. Kearney) shifted in, making contact with the running rail.
Race 2: CRUSHERS SUPPORT MEN OF LEAGUE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1400m
1st – Equable 2nd – Beau Dazzler 3rd – Showciti 4th – Stitch It
EQUABLE (J. Holder) was slow to begin.
SHOWCITI (D. Barron) jumped away awkwardly.
DIAMOND SAPPHIRE (M. Morris), which commenced to hang out from the 1100m, shifted out further approaching the 650m, taking LOADED TYCOON (D. Pires) wider on the track, and approaching the 600m continued to shift out and had to be checked off the heels of LOADED TYCOON. Trainer A. Jones was advised that he must officially barrier trial DIAMOND SAPPHIRE prior to its next start.
LOADED TYCOON, SKALATO’S RHYTHM (C. Small) and STAR SUPREME (A. Pattillo) raced wide for the majority of the event.
LOADED TYCOON shifted out under pressure from the 300m until the winning post. Trainer S. Jones was advised that a warning was being placed on the gelding for its racing manners.
Race 3: BLUESCOPE LYSAGHT MAIDEN H’CAP - 1200m
1st – Kids Show 2nd – Cropover Time 3rd – Rock My Roof 4th – Boss Cocky
HOWDY CHELLE (K. Pope) and MENOTTI (A. Pattillo) were tightened for room on jumping away between GENERAL MANOR (D. Griffin) and FROZEN TIME (B. El-Issa) which shifted out.
HOWDY CHELLE (K. Pope) raced wide throughout.
Approaching the 800m WE’VE AN ANGEL (W. Pearson) bumped the running rail and shifted out. KIDS SHOW (J. Holder), which was following, had to be steadied.
Approaching the 600m WE’VE AN ANGEL, which shifted out whilst racing greenly, had to be steadied off the heels of BOSS COCKY (M. Radecker) which shifted in slightly.
Nearing the 400m KING SHACCA (R. Hall) had to be steadied off the heels of RAINING KINGS (O. Turpin) which shifted out.
Approaching the 300m PHANTOM COUNTESS (R. McMahon) shifted in, making contact with the running rail.
Race 4: STODDART GROUP CLASS 2 H’CAP - 2200m
1st – Tariki 2nd – Thunder Beach 3rd – King’s Crusade 4th – King Fling
BERNIE’S STAR (C. Kearney) jumped away awkwardly.
BERNIE’S STAR overraced in the early stages and approaching the 1700m had to be steadied off the heels of DENIM AND DIAMONDS (K. Pope).
Approaching the 200m THUNDER BEACH (M. Heagney) shifted in off the heels of REFINED DESERT (D. Griffin), making contact with KING’S CRUSADE (O. Turpin), which shifted out slightly.
Race 5: REED PROPERTY GROUP CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1000m
1st – Beach Cookie 2nd – Star Of Minto 3rd – Mulga Bob 4th – Visitation
CRAIGLEA SYMPHONY (C. Isdale) and SIERRA VISTA (N. Thomas) jumped away awkwardly.
STAR OF MINTO (J. Cook) was slow to begin.
MULGA BOB (R. Hall) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in making contact with NO TIME TO SPARE (M. Radecker).
Shortly after the start EXPLOSIVE FORME (W. Pearson) shifted in making contact with CHANGEIT (O. Turpin).
Approaching the 700m STAR OF MINTO commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off the heels of TRUCE TIME (J. Holder) and shifted out forcing NO TIME TO SPARE wider.
Approaching the 600m EXPLOSIVE FORME laid in across the heels of CHANGEIT and had to be steadied.
Leaving the 200m BEACH COOKIE (A. Pattillo) shifted out abruptly after being struck with the whip.
A post-race veterinary examination of TRUCE TIME revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer G. Hay was advised that he must obtain a veterinary clearance for TRUCE TIME before it resumes racing.
Race 6: REDCLIFFE RUGBY LEAGUE CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200m
1st – Holy Lover 2nd – Echo Gun 3rd – Zabullion 4th – Little Legend
KALINGA MATT (C. Kearney) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in making contact with ZABULLION (K. Pope).
Approaching the 800m LITTLE LEGEND (B. El-Issa) shifted in making contact with the running rail.
HOLY LOVER (A. Pattillo) and ANCIENT TITLES (J. Taylor) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 7: MEN OF LEAGUE FOUNDATION H’CAP - 1400m
1st – Tropical Express 2nd – Mikan 3rd – Very Canny 4th – Ally Bee
ACTIVE COMBAT (M. Traecey) was slow to begin.
CRAIGLEA BOB (C. Kearney) jumped away awkwardly.
LEEDS UNITED (J. Holder) was tightened for room on jumping away between PEEL (J. Byrne) and ALLY BEE (M. Morris), both of which shifted ground.
LEEDS UNITED raced wide for the majority of the event.
A post-race veterinary examination of STARS O’ GOLD (M. Heagney) revealed the gelding to be suffering slight lameness in the near foreleg.
Race 8: REED FUNDS MANAGEMENT CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1400m
1st – Shesheda/ Frisco’s In Charge 3rd – Danger Lane 4th – Star Tassles
As D. Griffin had been stood down by the Club’s medical officer, M. Heagney was substituted as the rider of BENJI’S BABE. D. Griffin must produce a medical clearance before resuming race riding.

SPANISH TYCOON (J. Taylor) jumped away awkwardly.
On jumping away STAR TASSLES (M. Kai) shifted out, making contact with DANGER LANE (J. Byrne).
Leaving the 1000m DETERMINATION (M. Hackett) had to be steadied off the heels of POWERFUL ELEMENTS (K. Pope).
BENJI’S BABE and FRISCO’S IN CHARGE (O. Turpin) raced wide throughout.
