Supplementary Report

As G. Schofield and C. Eaton were ill, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Joyce Mayne CG&E Maiden Plate - 1300m
1st – Roamin’ Off 2nd – Je Suis Rockstar 3rd – Dane Ripper 4th - Pretkin

On return to scale a protest was lodged by P. Hammersley, rider of the 2nd placegetter, JE SUIS ROCKSTAR, against ROAMIN’ OFF (L. Morrison) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200m. After taking evidence from the riders concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards found that whilst ROAMIN’ OFF shifted out gradually over the final 150m when racing to the inside of JE SUIS ROCKSTAR, they were not satisfied to the required standard that such action was detrimental to ROAMIN’ OFF that it warranted a reversal of placings, and therefore the protest was dismissed and the Judge’s placings confirmed.

TONIGHT’S THE GO (S. Holcombe) began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with SCULL.

ROAMIN’ OFF had a tendency to overrace in the early stages of the event.

B. El-Issa, rider of SCULL, dropped his whip near the 400m.

DANE RAIDER (C. Spry) hung in badly over the final 300m.

Race 2: Telstra Shop Kawana Maiden F&M Plate - 1300m
1st – Mille Miglia 2nd – Hayil’s Love 3rd – Sweet Addiction 4th –Lindy’s Opinion

SANTA TERESA (L. Cheshire) was slow to begin.

WISHENDA (K. Wharton) began awkwardly.

HAYIL’S LOVE (L. Morrison) and MILLE MIGLIA (M. Cahill) came together and bumped on jumping away.

HAYIL’S LOVE overraced in the early stages.

Near the 1200m, MILLE MIGLIA had to be steadied off the heels of LICENTIOUS GIRL and as a consequence shifted out, resulting in SWEET ADDICTION being inconvenienced.

Leaving the 100m, CHASING DREAMS (M. Heagney) had to be steadied off the heels of LICENTIUS GIRL (B. Pengelly), which shifted out.

PRIOR TO RACE 3, STEWARDS CARRIED OUT A FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE TRACK AND WERE OF THE OPINION THE SURFACE HAD DETERIORATED TO A CONDITION THAT MADE IT UNSAFE TO CONTINUE ANY FURTHER RACING. THE REMAINDER OF THE MEETING WAS THEREFORE ABANDONED.
