Race 1: Caloundra RSL Handicap 1600m
1st – Mickydoo 2nd – Fort Carre 3rd – Granite King 4th – Vettori’s Image

PROSPER (App. O. Turpin) which was slow to begin, shifted in and had to be steadied from the heels of GRANITE KING (M. Hughes).

VETTORI’S IMAGE (L. Degaura) was disappointed for a run near the 400m when attempting to improve to inside of FORT CARRE (N. Thomas) and had to be steadied.

FORT CARRE laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 2: XXXX Gold Handicap 1300m
1st – Zymurgy 2nd – Clear Drop 3rd – Danzaction 4th – Gold Down Under

CLEAR DROP (O. Turpin) was slow to begin.

ZYMURGY (App. A. Kitson) which jumped away awkwardly, raced wide throughout.

GOLD DOWN UNDER (K. Wharton) overraced in the early and middle stages.

Race 3: Hahn Super Dry Handicap 1300m
1st – Lady of Spain 2nd – Freyadane 3rd – Damalo 4th – Rainbow Garnet

LADY OF SPAIN (M. Hughes) jumped away awkwardly losing considerable ground.

GOODBYETOALLTHAT (K. Sawyers) which was slow to begin, raced wide throughout.

LADY OF SPAIN raced wide from the 800m and was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.

FREYADANE (App. C. Priest) was held up rounding the home turn, and continued to be held up until a point approaching the 200m when forced to steady from the heels of RAINBOW GARNET (N. Thomas). As a result FREYADANE shifted out forcing LIGHT IN THE FIELD (K. Pope) out, which in turn caused DELLASERA (A. Erhart) to be restrained from that horses heels. App. C. Priest was reprimanded for this incident.

Race 4: Gold Property Group Woodford Handicap 1400m
1st – Rovert 2nd – Two And a Kick 3rd – Real World 4th – Moringa’s McCoy

ROVERT (O. Turpin) and REAL WORLD (K. Wharton) were both slow to begin.

NINTH DUKE (App. J. Kropp) raced 3 wide the majority of the event.

A post race veterinary examination of ROVERT revealed the gelding to be suffering from a mild case of the thumps.

Race 5: XXXX Summer Bright Handicap 1300m
1st – Astounding 2nd – Ice Apple 3rd – Gunship 4th – Konstantin

KONSTANTIN (App. J. Kropp) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

VICTORY JACK (B. Abbey) overraced and commenced to hang out leaving the 1000m, and had the steadied off the heels of ICE APPLE (N. Thomas) near the 800m.

TOPSYND (App. O. Turpin) raced wide the majority of the event.

ASTOUNDING (K. Pope) and NORTHERN TRAVELLER (M. Hughes) raced wide from the 600m.

KONSTANTIN was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

The rider of ABSOLOUIE, Jockey M. Crawford, was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip in a backhand manner.
