As L. Rolls was dually engaged, C. Whitley was substituted as the rider of BOOM BOX. L. Rolls was fined $200.

RAPID QUALO (D. Missen) jumped in at the start, making contact with GHERARDINI (J. Morris).

FRIARS FOLLY (M. Vance) jumped in at the start and made contact with BOOM BOX (C. Whiteley). A short distance later, FRIARS FOLLY shifted out, making heavy contact with MEGA D’ORO, causing that runner to become unbalanced and to bump the hindquarters of CANNIZZARO (C. Schmidt).

ALL THE ANGELS (A. Hearn) jumped in at the start, making contact with WAFFLE (M. Hellyer).

DREAMWARD BOUND (S. Galloway) and KELVIN THE KRUEL (R. Vigar) raced wide throughout.

Apprentice A. Allen reported that MEGA D’ORO raced greenly throughout.

CANNIZZARO lost its near fore plate in running.

The veterinary surgeon reported that FRIARS FOLLY sustained a laceration to the off hind fetlock during the event.

Stewards questioned apprentice T. Brooker, in the presence of Jockeys Advocate Mr D. Tanti, regarding her riding of ON THE DECK, particularly in the middle stages. Ms Brooker stated that her instructions were to allow ON THE DECK to have ample racing room and as such she elected to shift wider on the track leaving the 700m in order to follow these instructions. Whilst stewards noted the instructions given, they advised Ms Brooker that in their opinion, although she may have erred in shifting the horse wider on the track as early as she did and not track SUGAR DADDY into the race, in the circumstances her riding was not culpable under the rules, however reminded her of her obligation to ride the race as it presents itself.

Race 6: BOSS AUSTRALIA MAINTENANCE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

SHELBY was a late scratching at 8.30 am for veterinary reasons. Trainer T. Thomas was advised that SHELBY will require a veterinary clearance before its next start.

In this incident ASSERTIVE LOVE shifted out, inconveniencing CANNY EXCEL (D. Missen). As a result GONE HA HA was positioned further back in the field than intended.

A short distance after the start ZEEVA (L. Cheshire) shifted in, making contact with NAHARIYA (C. Schmidt), and when being corrected shifted out, forcing GOOD TWO DREAM (J. Morris) out on to CRIMSON FORCE (A. Merritt).

Shortly after the start HUGHES ON FIRST (M. Hellyer) was tightened for room between TIREE TIMES A LADY (R. Vigar) and OVERRULE (T. Brooker) which shifted in.

Stewards questioned apprentice B. Derbyshire regarding the early tactics adopted on LEMAITRE. Apprentice Derbyshire stated that after beginning well, the gelding commenced to overrace, resulting in the saddle shifting forward, after which she had difficulty in controlling the horse. Trainer M. Bailey advised stewards that it was not the intention for LEMAITRE to lead, however accepted that apprentice Derbyshire was placed at a disadvantage when the saddle shifted forward. Stewards noted the explanations.

OVERRULE raced wide for the majority of the event.

Approaching the 300m MISS EXPRESS (G. Cooksley) improved on to the heels of SOLE ILLUSION (M. Vance), which shifted out to avoid the heels of the tiring LEMAITRE.
