OFFICIALS

Chairman of Stewards – Mr. L Collins
Stewards – Mr. G. Meek
Clerk of Scales- Stewards
Judge – J. Noffke (Assisted by Stewards)
Veterinarian – L Forster
Starter- M. Donohoe

Race 1: XXXX Gold/Noffke’s Rural Real Estate & Livestock Class B Handicap - 900 metres
1st –BEEBEE’S LAST 2nd – FRAHA 3rd – MINTO’S DREAM 4th – STARS ARE BORN

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer A Stephens with regard to the late declaration of rider of IMMA BE.

Trainer G Taylor reported that STAGECOACH had got its front legs over the float partition while being transported to the course. A pre-race veterinary inspection cleared the mare to start.

When the start was effected, BAGABOB (App C Pye) refused to jump with the field and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K Mylne was advised that the gelding would be required to pass two barrier tests, one of which must be in an official barrier trial. Stewards were mindful this was the gelding’s first start from a previous embargo.

Race 2: Rolleston Coal QTIS Maiden Plate- 900 metres
1st – ALMOST DIAMONDS 2nd – NAVAJOS 3rd – BARCOLLA MAGIC 4th – JUST READY

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer J. Poots with regard to the late rider declaration for ZANDER.

Trainer J Pointon was fined $50 for the late declaration of riders for JUNGLE WOMAN & CHATEAU’S BLOOMER.

At the start, CHATEAU’S BLOOMER (App N Ogura) began awkwardly, threw its head in the air and shifted in and hampered JUST READY (App S Egan) which lost ground.

Near the 700m, NAVAJOS (N. Patchett) hung in and placed BARCOLLA MAGIC (App C Pye) in restricted room, to be checked and lost ground. Jockey Patchett was advised to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts shifting ground. Trainer H Forster was advised a warning would be placed on NAVAJOS. Mr Forster advised he may add blinkers for the gelding’s next start.

Apprentice Pye stated that the breast plate broke in this incident and the saddle shifted back and she was unable to ride the filly out in her usual manner.

Race 3: Triple H Partners Bracelet Class 3 Plate- 1100
1st – SAVAGE HEMLINE 2nd – BAYBY GIRL 3rd – GIVE IM ZA 4th – SYLVAN SAFARI

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer W Irwin with regard to the late declaration of rider of CRAIGLEA RAWIE.

CRAIGLEA RAWIE (App N Ogura) began awkwardly, jumped inwards and hampered FLYING TEQUILA (S. Sheargold) which was taken into NERANGATANG (B. Bell).

Near the 800 metres and also near the 600 metres, FLYING TEQUILA, which had improved to the inside of NERANGATANG, was steadied when NERANGATANG shifted ground.

Near the 400 metres, Apprentice S. Egan (SYLVAN SAFARI) dropped his whip.

When questioned about the performance of FLYING TEQUILA, Jockey S. Sheargold stated that after interference was suffered at the start and on occasion throughout the race this was detrimental to its performance, however, in his opinion, the mare had not responded when placed under pressure from the 700 metres and proved disappointing.

Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey S. McGovern to view the photo finish image. After doing so, Jockey McGovern was satisfied as to the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.

Race 4: Minerva Mine Class B Handicap- 1400 metres
1st – FEROCITY BLUE 2nd – MY OLDE GOLD 3rd – WILLSEEYOU 4th – ISTANATI

MY OLDE GOLD (S. Sheargold) began awkwardly.

Near the 400 metres, ISTANATI (T. Bannon) hung out and took TYPHOON BLUE (App S Egan) wider on the track. TYPHOON BLUE raced ungenerously for a short distance afterwards.

Jockey T. Bannon reported the saddle had slipped on ISTANATI near the 200 metres and she had been unable to ride the gelding out. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the gelding may have pulled a chest muscle on the near side. Trainer B. Trimble was advised that a warning would be placed against ISTANATI.

A post-race veterinary inspection of PALLADIUM SILVER did not reveal any abnormalities.
Jockey N Patchett reported that WILLSEEYOU had jarred up on the track surface.

1st – DOWN ANOTHER TRACK 2nd – RATTLE ‘N’ RUN 3rd – JOE KWILA 4th – POWER TO EXCEED

REIGNING TO WIN (App C Pye) was slow to begin.
