Also at the start Aqua Diana (D.OWENS) moved inwards as the start was effected taking the running of Bolshevik (G.ROBINSON). Jockey OWENS made every effort to straighten his mount at this time. At the 1200 metre turn Stomp (J.HANCOCK) made the turn wide and in doing so forced Earthquake to travel wider on this turn.

At about the 180 metres Creolaska (B.BROWNING) was travelling near the lead and being ridden out when the mare suddenly shifted in across the rill (there being no running rail), dislodging the rider who was examined by the Q.A.S. and suffered no injuries. Jockey BROWNING advised that as the race was reaching the concluding stages he was riding the mare out and then struck her once with the whip in his left hand. He then commenced waving the whip at her and she suddenly shifted in, dislodging him. BROWNING advised the mare has been sour over the last couple of days. It was clearly established that no other horse or rider had contributed to the incident. Trainer Ms P.KENDALL supported Jockey BROWNING’S statements . The trainer has been advised to ensure the mare performs satisfactorily before racing again.

NO SWABS WERE TAKEN AT THIS MEETING. ALL PRIZES WERE IN THE FORM OF TROPHIES ONLY.
