Race 1: Bill Kehl Memorial QTIS Maiden Plate - 1000m.
1st – Mighty Classy 2nd – Nicolosi 3rd – Can Be Rowdy 4th – Neet Answer
NEET ANSWER was slow to commence.
Jockey W. J. Cook was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ARR.137(a) when he permitted his mount MIGHTY CLASSY to shift in near the 900m and tighten TROOPER DANE resulting in that horse being checked. Subsequently W. J. Cook was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 meetings commencing midnight 01/01/2005 up to and including 12/01/2005.
Jockey W. J. Cook was further found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ARR.137(a) when he permitted his mount MIGHTY CLASSY to shift in near the 850m and hamper CAN BE ROWDY resulting in that horse easing and shifting in near the 800m resulting in CAN BE ROWDY checking and loosing considerable ground. Subsequently W. J. Cook was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 meetings to be served concurrently with the initial infringement to commence at midnight 01/01/2005 up to and including 14/01/2005.
Jockey W. J. Cook the rider of MIGHTY CLASSY lost possession of his whip leaving the 100m.
Race 2: Bill Joynson Memorial Class 5 Handicap - 1000m.
1st – Check That Out 2nd – Retsil 3rd – Rory’s Roc 4th – Regal Downs
Upon rounding the home turn REGAL DOWNS, which was inclined to hang out was forced to ease when RORY’S ROCK shifted in.
REGAL DOWNS was held up for sufficient racing room upon entry into the straight and at approximately the 100m.
Race 3: Bob Scott Memorial Open Cup - 1200m.
1st – Semagic 2nd – Flying Feathers 3rd – He’s A Kwila 4th – Reason To Hail
REASON TO HAIL was slow to begin.
Race 4: Owen Brodie Memorial Class B Handicap - 1200m.
1st – Giligulgul 2nd – Detonates 3rd – Garni 4th – From The Mist
FROM THE MIST commenced to tire and loose its position through the field hampering OPPOSING VIEW leaving the 400m.
FLYING SECRET was held up for clear room approaching the 300m.
Race 5: QRSE Des Johnson Memorial Class 3 Handicap - 1400m.
1st – Secret Knowledge 2nd – Seahawk Dancer 3rd – Helen’s Brother 4th – Hiawaters
Shortly after the start HIAWATERS was obliged to check when HELEN’S BROTHER commenced to race extremely erratically and shift in. Jockey W J Cook the rider of HELEN’S BROTHER was reprimanded for this incident.
Approaching the 1200m SECRET KNOWLEDGE was forced to ease when tightened for room between HELEN’S BROTHER and HIAWATERS.
Leaving the 1200m EMPEROR’S HOPE was forced to ease when HELEN’S BROTHER, which was still racing erratically commenced to shift about. EMPEROR’S HOPE was obliged to be eased off the heels of HELEN’S BROTHER when that horse was restrained.
HELEN’S BROTHER was inclined to over race from the start to the 600m.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
