RACE 1: JACK SCHWENKE MEMORIAL/SUTTON FAMILYREUNION/TEXAS BOWLS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m

Following an incident in the barriers rider L McCoy was declared unfit to ride, subsequently her mount JARAIL CREEK was declared a late scratching at 1:20pm.

IDEAL APALACHEE, which refused to load, was declared a late scratching at 1:23pm. Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.

Following the withdrawals deductions of 18c win and 19c place were ordered above the line and 10c win and 10c place below the line.

Approaching the 600m, STORMY VISION hung out after being eased from heels.

RACE 2:PAULS MILK/HANNAFORD ACCOUNTANT/ CLASS OF 68MAIDEN PLATE– 1000m

IL MONDO was slow to begin.

A warning was placed on SPARKLING VOGUE, which hung out through out the event.

Prior the correct weight being given a protest was lodged by the rider of the third place getter MR RAFFIN, against the second place getter GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS for alleged interference leaving the 600m. After taking evidence from both riders and viewing of the patrol film the objection was dismissed on the grounds that the ground lost in the incident was not sufficient to overturn the Neck margin and correct weight given on the judges’ placings. Following a subsequent inquiry, D McMaster the rider of GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of MR RAFFIN causing the latter to be eased slightly.

RACE 3: TOOWOOMBA HOLDEN/RURAL/LILLYVALE WINES/BRISBANE HOSPITALITY LOGISTICS AND TRAINING CLASS 5 – 800m

Apprentice S Van Klaveren the rider of SEQUALO PRINCESS was reprimanded for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight.

LAUREL STREAK, which was difficult to load, will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next start.

LAUREL STREAK, jumped out at the start making heavy contact with GLIDING HOME, which was slow to begin.

Leaving the 700m, EARLY GENIUS was tightened for room and lost ground between ANOTHER JAZZY, which shifted in and LAUREL STREAK, which shifted out.
RACE 4: NEC/KERWICKS BETTA ELECTRICAL AND TENTERFIELD’S ACCOUNTS CLASS B H-CAP – 1200m

LUCKY CENTURY was declared a late scratching at 3:28pm after becoming very fractious in the barriers. LUCKY CENTURY broke through the front of the barriers and following a vet inspection was declared unfit to start. Deductions of 8c win and 9c place were ordered following the withdrawal. Connections were advised a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.

BELIEVE jumped out at the start making contact with PAULA LOU.

Jockey S Gaffaney was severely reprimanded regarding her tactics adopted on BUCK’S CHARM. Stewards advised jockey Gaffaney that they were concerned with her lack of vigor during the early stages of the event in that she did not take advantage of the inside barrier.

RACE 5: BIB STEIN ELDERS INSURANCE TEXAS CUP – 1200m

SPOILT ROTTEN was very slow to begin.

Both FIRES OF IRELAND and MARZEE STAR were slow to begin.

KANAWHA hung out making the home turn taking FIRES OF IRELAND out across the heels of MARZEE STAR. Apprentice A Gain the rider of KANAWHA was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

RACE 6: FOSTERS/GREG HILL EARTHMOVING/3WAY PHOTOS/CLASS 3 H-CAP – 1600m

APPEALING LADY was slow to begin.


ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
