THANGOOL RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT – SATURDAY 14/06/2003

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Good.

RACE 1: CLASS 2 H’CAP - 800 METRES (10 STARTERS)

Apprentice Adam Gain was fined $50.00 under the provisions of AR92 (12) in that he failed to claim his full allowance on PAPERBACK HERO.
MISTRESS DANE (App N Nelson) knuckled over at the jump resulting in App Nelson being dislodged. Approaching the 300 mtrs PAPERBACK HERO (App A Gain) raced greenly at the rear of the field.

RACE 2: QTIS MAIDEN H'CAP - 800 METRES (8 STARTERS)

MIKEY’S RUBY was examined by the veterinarian prior to the event and passed fit to start after suffering a laceration to above the N/Side eye in a floating mishap.
INTEGRITY ANGEL (M Barnham) jumped outwards at the start and made contact with BRIEF ENCOUNTER (W Schmidt) who was in turn was carried outwards onto MY RUMBA (S Quick). Approaching the 600 mtrs FIRECRACKER (D Rewald) raced ungenerously which resulted in jockey D Rewald having to take hold and restrain the gelding.
On entering the home straight ALL TORQUE (App N Nelson) laid inwards which resulted in App Nelson opting to take a run in restricted room between ESPIRE (App T Matheson) and
MOORABOOL FLYER (S Quick).

RACE 3: CLASS 5 H’CAP - 1075 METRES (9 STARTERS)

COOLANGATTA (M Barnham) was slow into stride.
No further racing incidents to report

RACE 4: OPEN H'CAP - 1300 METRES (10 STARTERS)
Stewards withdrew PARIS PEARL from the event at 2.35 pm when neither the mare nor trainer were present on course. An inquiry has been adjourned into the reason why PARIS PEARL was not presented to race.
ALLIE BOB (M Barnham) was slow into stride.
No further racing incidents to report.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)

Approaching the 500 mtrs Jockey M Lehmann was obliged to ease COMMANDANTE to avoid the heels of TRAVELLING DUCHESS (W Schmidt) who was racing greenly and shifting ground.

RACE 6: CLASS 3 H’CAP - 1400 METRES (10 STARTERS)

Mistress Dane was examined by the course veterinarian prior to event and passed fit to start.
No racing incidents to report

SWABBING
Routine samples were taken from all winners with the exception of Race Six and forwarded to the racing science centre for analysis.

BETTING

Two Bookmakers fielded at the meet with no disputes to report
