GENERAL:

When Jockey M. Barnham was to be overweight, Jockey C. McIver was substituted as the rider of MONASHEE EXPRESS in Race 1. Apprentice A. Taylor was substituted as the rider of SHOT BAR in Race 3. Jockey Barnham was fined $200 under A.R.120 (b).

When Jockey D. Whitmore was to be overweight, and when no senior rider were available Apprentice K Gates was substituted as the rider of RED SEA in Race 1, Jockey J Stephens was substituted as rider of GOLD WAR in Race 2. Jockey J Stephens was substituted as rider of MEAN MACHINE in Race 3. Jockey N Patchett was substituted as rider of QUIRT in Race 4. Jockey D. Whitmore was fined a total of $400 under A.R. 120(b). In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Whitmore's poor record under the relevant rule.

Race 1: Ray White Biloela QTIS Class 1 Handicap- 1075 metres
1st MORE THAN CURLY 2nd MONASHEE EXPRESS 3rd SELECT TRADE 4th- RANGER HILL

RED SEA (K Gates) was slow away.

Both TANIA’S REVENGE (A Taylor) and MONASHEE EXPRESS (C McIver) raced wide throughout.

When questioned as to the performance of MEDEYA Jockey N Patchett stated that he had been instructed to ride the filly on the pace and was able to lead. Jockey Patchett added that when MEDEYA was put under pressure at the 700metres it compounded in the straight and believes that the slow track may have been a contributing factor to the fillys dissapointing performance. A subsequent vet examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

TANIA’S REVENGE (A Taylor) was inspected by the vet post race which revealed no significant findings.

Race 2: Betta Electrical Biloela Open Handicap- 1200 metres
1st COLUMATE 2nd CRAIGLEA CONVICT 3rd GOLD WAR 4th- MISS CHANCESXAAR

The start was delayed when FALVELIZABETH dislodged the rider whilst being loaded. When FALVELIZABETH was captured, it was inspected by the vet and cleared to start. All horses were removed from the barriers whilst the riderless horse was caught and inspected.

MISS CHANCESXAAR (T Banks) stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground.


Race 3: Cavalier Homes Biloela Class 3 Handicap- 1300 metres
1st– KISS THE GROOM 2nd – RYTARGA 3rd CALLY GREENLAKE 4th- SHOT BAR

KISS THE GROOM (S McCullum) jumped awkwardly.

GENEVA GOLD (T Banks) raced wide throughout.

MEAN MACHINE (J Stephens) raced wide from the 900m.

Race 4: Barnes Landscaping & Plant Hire Class B Handicap - 1400 metres
1st GRAND TURK 2nd CYCLONE STEVE 3rd QUIRT 4th – THE WATER BOMBER

MALEATON was declared a late scratching at 11:45 due to illness. Trainer C Tasker was advised that she must provide a vet certificate prior to gelding’s next start.

QUIRT (N Patchett) was slow away.

THE WATER BOMBER (J Stephens) was slow away.

SOCCER MUM (K Gates) raced wide throughout.

At approximately the 200m THE WATER BOMBER was inclined to lay in and bumped BOTANICAL BELLE (A Taylor).

Race 5: Propest Maiden Plate - 800 metres
1st THE CONDUCTOR 2nd ROSE OF MAYHEM 3rd COTE DE RHONE 4th- MY FIRST ADVENTURE

The declaration of correct weight was delayed whilst stewards considered an application by Jockey D Whitmore to have SAUKENUK declarded a non-runner. After taking evidence from Jockey D Whitmore and the starter, stewards acceded to Jockey Whitmore’s application and declared SAUKENUK a non-runner. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on SAUKENUK be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

1st THE CONDUCTOR – 9cents for the win
11cents for the place
2nd ROSE OF MAYHEM – 13cents for the place
3rd COTE DE RHONE – 12cents for the place

PINSETTER (N Patchett) was slow away and raced wide throughout.

AMERICAN HONEY (D McWhinney) raced wide throughout.
