Race 1 Class 6 Handicap 7 Starters 1200 Metres
Jky P Cullen was required to stop riding and straighten his mount “Kenneth” who shifted in the final 50 metres.

Race 2 Maiden Handicap 12 Starters 1000 metres
R Ryan replaced S Hetherington who was unavailable to ride “Swift Salvation”. At the start Kapunda (M Campbell) and “Barson Al” (B Trinder) were slow away. Gibbo (F Edwards) was difficult to load and “Scoop” (C Whiteley) jumped out onto “Miss Earthworks”! “Hue and Cry” (G Cullen) checked off “Loaded Gun” (G Watson) at the 450. “Ring Shaun” (B Somerville) moved out under pressure inconveniencing “Positive Sign” (E Cullen).

Race 3 2 YO Maiden Handicap 16 Starters 1000 metres
At the start “Speed Creek” (R Lock) and “Who’s the Chief” (M. Deguara) were slow into stride.
“Bay Toff” (G Cullen) jumped out onto “Ready Red” (E Cullen) and “Grand Salieri” (C Whiteley); “Speed Creek” raced greenly and is to “Barrier Trial prior to starting again. Jky P Cullen advised Stewards that his mount “Flame ‘N’ Fortune” appeared to before on returning to scale. “Ready Red” (E Cullen) was inclined to over raceleaving to 800 and eased to avoid the heels of “Caitlyn’s Mate” (R Mules) resulting in several runners being inconvenienced including “Grand Salieri” (C Whiteley) “Curto Nero” (S Watkin) difficult to load.

Race 4 2 YO Maiden Handicap 16 Starters 1000 Metres
“Tinseltown” (J Felix) and “Velvet Shadow” (G Kliese) were slow away, as was “Vain Virginian” (P Cullen) who was inclined to hang out in running, Trainer J Sullivan to experiment with lugging bit on that horse prior to starting again.

Race 5 Class 4 Handicap 12 Starters 1000 Metres
The start was delayed when “Man of Jarrie” (G Watson) had its hind leg up on the divide rail of the stalls! “Jock’s Crew” (D Crossland) dwelt when the gates opened losing some ground and racing irratically. “Spray Deck” (G Kliese) left the stalls awkwardly losing some ground.

Race 6 Class 1 Handicap 11 Starters 1200 metres
“Wave Rip” (E Cullen) unable to obtain a clear run from the 400. When the gates opened “Halo Rose” (Ms S Wynne) jumped out onto “Mr Howard” (D Crossland).

Race 7 3 YO Class 6 (Fillies) 13 Starters 1200 metres
Jky S Watkin replaced Jky R Ryan who was fined $50 under arr 120(b) failing to make the required weight as the rider for “Jet Wave”. “Betcha” (G Watson) difficult to load. “Paris Pearl” (G Kliese) raced wide on the home turn resulting in “Sisyphean” (Ms S Wynne) to cover extra ground. An inquiry was held into interference to “Rundle River” ridden by Jky Frank Edwards, at about the 850 mark – after hearing the evidence and viewing the video film of the race, App D Crossland, the rider of “Dance Ocassion” was found guilty of a charge of careless riding and suspended from riding in races from midnight on Monday 5 April 1999 up to and including 10 April 1999.




Race 8 8 Open Handicap 8 Starters 1400 metres
While waiting for “Tallowood Park” (F Edwards) to be loaded, “Royal Advance” reared backwards dislodging the rider Chris Whiteley; When the gates opened “Look Out Below” (R Mules) and “Royal Advance” were slow into stride. “My Sequin” (D Crossland) was forced to ease near the 1200.

Race 9 Class 2 Handicap 11 Starters 1400 metres
“Battlers Scoop” (B Trinder) was fractious in the gates; “Kelhead” (Ms S Wynne) was slow into stride. “My Legend” (E Cullen) blundered out of the stalls ! “Mr Sinister” (G Kliese) eased near the 400 to avoid the heels of “Stratheden” (R Mules) who was endeavouring to obtain a clear run.

Race 10 3 YO Class 6 Handicap 14 Starters 1200 metres
At the start “Shawno” (G Cullen) became fractious when placed in stalls. Near the 700 “Whitsunday View” (D Crossland) got onto the heels of “County Bay” (F Edwards). Jky K Rockett was admonished for allowing his mount “Go Hop” to move out onto “Gem of a Dancer” (M Deguard) near the 100 mark.
