RACE 1 MAIDEN HANDICAP About 1200 METRES 7 STARTERS
Prior to the start OUR ZAC) was a late scratching as a result of the rider B Somerville being indisposed. An inspection by the Ambulance attendant revealed an injury to the Jockeys left leg, sustained prior to the days racing. Jockey B Somerville will be required to provide a Fitness Certificate before he can ride again.
At the start: ROYAL CAMEO (M Cullen) jumped in onto CAL’S SISTER (Ms C Murphy), PLACID WATERS (E Cullen) was fractious and inclined to rear and jumped out onto DANCING CZAR (G.D. Kliese)

RACE 2 SUPER QRIS 3YO MAIDEN HCP 1400 METRES 9 STARTERS
A Molino was the replacement rider for SOVERIGN JET when the declared rider GD Kliese was unable to make the weight.
At the start: SOVEREIGN JET (A Molino) jumped outwards forcing TRIPLE SISTER ACT (M Cullen) out onto NAVONOD (M Deguara), DR NEMESIS (S Hetherington) and HELEN’S PRIDE (C Whiteley). Near the 400 DR. NEMESES (S Hetherington) was eased to avoid the heels of ROSSINI STAR (F Edwards)

RACE 3 CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1650 METRES 9 STARTERS
FORGIVE (F Edwards) was accidentally struck by the whip of C Whiteley SADDLER’S SON

RACE 4 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1650 METRES 11 STARTERS
A veterinary inspection was carried out on ZULU BOY and passed fit to start.
M Deguara was the replacement rider for MR. PRETENDER.
At THE 950 MR PRETENDER (M Cullen) was eased to avoid the heels of FANKALA (M Cullen). At the 600 TOGNOTTI was eased off the heels MISTER MO (C Whiteley).

RACE 5 SUPER QRIS 2YO HANDICAP 1200 METRES 12 STARTERS
Approaching the 950 KAWONGA dipped and then commenced to over race and hang out. After jumping away, TITAN'’JOY (F Edwards) continued to shift out resulting in EASILY LED being inconvenienced. App C Murphy was reprimanded for filing to stop riding and straighten her mount SPECTACULAR SLOT sho shifted out over the concluding stages of the race and hamper ESPECIALE (App C Montague.

RACE 6 CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 11 STARTERS
Jockey S Hetherington advised Stewards that down the running SEA PRIDE was inclined to hang in, where he was unable to ride the horse out with the whip.

RACE 7 OPEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES 9 STARTERS
At the start: On jumping away BEYOND SPACE (M Deguara), shifted out onto BOLD PLAN (GD Kliese) and inconvenienced ROYAL ADVANCE (D Sewell) who was marginally slow away.

RACE 8 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 9 STARTERS
At the 700 GEM OF A DANCER (B Trinder) was inclined to over race and had to be eased to avoid the heels of SHIVA’S TRIDENT (GD Kliese) and at the 750 DON ZIP (G Watson) eased to avoid the heels of GEM OF A DANCER.

RACE 9 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 10 STARTERS
A Protest was lodged by C Whiteley the rider of the 2nd placed horse HEROIC PRINCE against the winner MY LEGEND (App Ms C Murphy) alleging interference at the 300 mark and 50 metre mark. After hearing evidence from the riders concerned and viewing the Video film the 1st Protest at the 300 was dismissed and the subsequent Protest at the 50 metre mark was upheld. The placings were amended to read 1st HEROIC PRINCE, 2nd MY LEGEND.
App C Montague was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount REGAL RACER to move out approaching the 850 mark resulting in RAINCOATS (M Cullen) being forced out onto AMILIYANA (E Cullen) who in turn hampered ROAD TO LAMOUR (G Watson).


All winners were sent to be swabbed.


General:
The Stewards resumed their Inquiry into the fall of BE MY LOVE (M Deguara) in Race 6, the 1200 metre Newmarket on 12th June 1999. After hearing the evidence of the riders concerned and viewing the Video Patrol film, Jockey G Watson the rider of LET’S CHEER was charged under the Terms of ARR 137 (a) with Careless Riding causing interference to AZOTURIA (A Molino) and a further charge under the rule 137 (a) causing interference to BE MY LOVE (M Deguara) just prior to the finish of the race. Jockey entered No Plea and was subsequently found Guilty of both charges. Jockey Watson was suspended from riding in races on each charge up and including 17th July 1999. Both suspensions to be served concurrently.
