RACE 1 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1630 METRES 5 STARTERS
Trainer M Baker fined $20 for failing to declare a Jockey for FREE THINKER by the prescribed time.
No incidents in running.

RACE 2 CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 8 STARTERS
At the start: BLINK ‘N’ WINK (C Whiteley) jumped out onto CHAMBIRA (M McDuff) who in turn came in contact with MCCAVITY (NZ) (App D Crossland). HIGHEST LORD (GD Kliese) and PLACID WATERS (R Mules) came together. At the 200 CHAMBIRA (M McDuff) while searching for a run, came into contact CITIZEN SYD (S Hetherington).

RACE 3 2YO HANDICAP 1400 METRES 5 STARTERS
At the start: BENTLEY GOLD (A Cowie) jumped out onto LOCAL HERO(C Whiteley) VAIN VIRGINIAN (P Cullen) hung out from the 800.

RACE 4 CLASS 6 PLATE 1400 METRES 10 STARTERS
Soon after the start, NEW LOVER (A Cowie) moved out and came into contact with ARGYLE REACH. (C Whiteley) Near the 750 PURE AMATEUR (M Deguara) eased to avoid the heels of SYBERITE (R Ryan). ARGYLE REACH (C Whitely) was held up momentarily for a clear run approaching the 200. On straightening up KENNETH (B Trinder) shifted out onto YOU CALL ME (S Watkin).

RACE 5 OPEN HANDICAP – LIGHTNING- 1000 METRES 9 STARTERS
At the start: DIAMOND DUKE (R Gallacher) was marginally slow to begin and ROAD TO CAIRO (GD Kliese) was reluctant to enter the Stalls.

RACE 6 WINTER CUP OPEN HANDICAP 2100 METRES 15 STARTERS
Trainer G O’Dea fined $20 for non declaration of rider for LOOSE TIGER.
At the start: GRAND ESCAPE (NZ) (R Ryan)jumped outwards onto JACK’S INNOCET (NZ) (P Cullen). REGAL NED (F Edwards) jumped inwards inconveniencing STAR HOME (M McDuff) In the straight VIDEOGRAPHY (R Gallacher) was denied a clear run.
An Inquiry was held into an incident involving HOOK SHOT (B Trinder.) and JACK’S INNOCENT (NZ) (P Cullen) at the 150 metre mark. After hearing evidence and viewing the Video Film Jockey P Cullen was charged under the Terms of AR 137 (a) with Careless Riding, and subsequently found guilty of the charge. Jockey P Cullen was suspended from riding in races up to and including the 25th July 1999.

RACE 7 SUPER QRIS 3YO HANDICAP 1400 METRES 16 STARTERS
At the start: PRINCE JACOB (D Crossland) jumped inwards onto REGAL BARD (T Duckett) who in turn came in contact with BLUE PHANESSA (C Whiteley) MAGGEE’S DANCER (A Molino) jumped outwards colliding with BE EARLY (D Dean). PAX DEI (R Mules) after over racing going to the 1000, was inclined to hang out. Over the concluding stages of the race PRINCE NEDIYM (G Evans) was disappointed for a clear run.

RACE 8 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 15 STARTERS
Trainer G O’Dea fined $20 for non declaration of rider for RAINCOATS.
An Inquiry wqs held into interference to SONG AND PRIDE (F Edwards) at about the 900 metres
HEROIC PRINCE (B Trinder) was unable to obtain a clear run in the straight.

RACE 9 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1630 METRES 16 STARTERS
P Cullen was the replacement rider for RECONCILE when the declared rider R Ryan became indisposed.
C Whiteley was reprimanded for allowing his mount WAVE RIP (NZ) to move out and interfere with TROPICAL MORN (C Clarke)
All Winners were sent to be swabbed



GENERAL:
Stewards concluded their Inquiry into an incident during the running of race 8 the Class 1 Handicap of 1400 metres run at Cluden Race Course on Friday 21st May 1999, which had been adjourned to allow for the calling of further witnessess.
Having regard to the evidence and viewing the Video Patrol Film, jockey Frank Edwards the rider of OUR LORD LEON was charged under the Terms of AR 137 (a) with Careless Riding, causing interference to TOGNOTTI ridden by E Cullen and subsequently HULA MISS ridden by J Ramsden. Jockey Edwards was found guilty of the charge and suspended from riding in races from midnight on Tuesday 20th July 1999, up to and including 25th July 1999.
