RACE 1 CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 7 STARTERS
At the 850 metres MAJESTIC COLOUR was steadied off the heels of CITIGUY. DODGEMS brushed the fence at the 800 metres.

RACE 2 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES 8 STARTERS
Trainer B Baker was reprimanded for failing to notify a rider for MR HOLLYFIELD by the prescribed time. LR 70. Making the home turn, MR. HOLLYFIELD shifted out under pressure.

RACE 3 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES 8 STARTERS
No racing incidents.

RACE 4 2YO HANDICAP 1400 METRES 12 STARTERS
After being marginally slow to begin, FLYING ASCOT was tightened for room at the start between IMPATIENCE and BRILLIANT CHARM which was taken out by FLYING GYPSY. A short distance after the start TIME AFFAIR was steadied away from the heels of BIG TIME DANCER which shifted out. At the 350 metres NOVACAN was steadied off the heels of BIG TIME DANCER, (R Moses) which shifted out when placed under pressure. Jockey R Moses was severely reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount. A Protest was lodged by Jockey G Watson (THE TABLELANDER) placed 3rd by the judge against BIG TIME DANCER being declared 2nd for alleged interference over the final 150 metres. After taking into account all the evidence, the protest was upheld and the judges placings amended to read 1st, TIME AFFAIR, 2nd THE TABLELANDER, 3RD BIG TIME DANCER. It was noted that over the final 150 metre BIG TIME DANCER shifted out and made heavy contact with THE TABLELANDER on 3 occasions which in turn was taken out into TIME AFFAIR. Subsequently, Jockey R Moses (BIG TIME DANCER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the terms of AR 137 (a) for riding in a careless manner by failing to stop riding and straighten BIG TIME DANCER. R Moses was suspended for a period of 3 meetings to commence midnight 6/6/00 up to and including 22/6/00. Trainer J Petersen reported that BISTRO had pulled up sore with possible torn muscles in the chest region

RACE 5 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 11 STARTERS
Jockey P Cullen was fined $100 for changing his riding boots after weighing out. (AR 118 A.) Trainer J Barr was advised that REBEL ROYAL which was very slow to begin would be required to pass a satisfactory barrier test before being permitted to race again. Passing the 250 metres REBEL ROYAL shifted out across the heels of VIDERON At the 150 metres SAHARA DIGGER which was under pressure shifted out and brushed OUR RAINMAKER. A short distance later, SAHARA DIGGER shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of READY RED and became very unbalanced.

RACE 6 OPEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES 11 STARTERS
GENTLE FLOW blundered shortly after the start. STAR HOME jumped awkwardly. Jockey M Gray (ROSENEATH JESTER) was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 600 metre mark which caused a tightening to BRONZE MINSTREL. AR 137 (a).) Jockey M Tolley reported that MR. BEST did not feel comfortable in its action throughout running. A Veterinary examination of MR. BEST revealed no abnormalities.

RACE 7 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 8 STARTERS
Jockey C Symons replaced D Sewell on KELLINA DRIVE when D Sewell could not make the weight. Taking into account Jockey Sewell's record in relation to this matter, Stewards issued a reprimand AR 120 (b). KELLINA DRIVE was slow to begin. MICK'S DREAMS jumped out and brushed PERSHING. On straightening PERSHING attempted a run to the inside of SUNSET HORIZON where insufficient room existed and had to be checked around the heels of that gelding to obtain clear running. MICK'S DREAMS was also held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

All winners were sent to be swabbed. All Jockeys passed a breath alcometer test before riding.
