Rail: Out 3 metres from the 1000 metres to the home turn.

RACE 1 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES 5 STARTERS
Approaching the finishing line EVENSONG shifted out abruptly. D Sewell (HORSE FEATHERS) was reprimanded for weighing in 0.5kg over his declared weight.(AR145).

RACE 2 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1640 METRES 7 STARTERS
MORONIE shifted in at the 900 metres momentarily tightening BIG GAME. At the 250 metres DAPPER JOEL was disappointed for a run between GRAND SALIERI and NAVONOD which shifted out. As a consequence DAPPER JOEL was eased across the heels of NAVONOD which resulted in BIG GAME having to be steadied. Jockey R Pujolas (DAPPER JOEL) was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear. (AR137(A)). Jockey W Binder (IN GOOD HEART) was questioned regarding the riding tactics he adopted on that mare in particular from the 700 metres to the 500 metres. Jockey Binder explained that IN GOOD HEART was ridden in its usual rearward position and that the mare only possesses a 400 metre sprint. He had endeavoured to ask IN GOOD HEART to go forward from the 700 metres due to the slow speed however the speed quickened from that point onwards and he was unable to maintain touch with the field. Jockey W Binder advised that IN GOOD HEART had ran home only fairly. The explanation of W Binder was noted.

RACE 3 CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1640 METRES 8 STARTERS
MISTER MO over raced in the early and middle stages of the event. PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE which was pulling hard had to be steadied of the heals of PRINCE BLAZE on a number of occasions between the 800 and 600 metre point. MISTER MO was inspected by the club veterinary surgeon after the event, who reported no abnormalities.

RACE 4 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 8 STARTERS
Trainer E Sewell advised stewards that he had instructed Jockey J Cairns to ride ABBOTT HOUSE in a more forward position in todays event. This information was broadcast over the public address system. FLYING GYPSY reared as the gates opened and lost ground. KEPPEL LAIR jumped awkwardly and made contact with the hindquarters of TOOK A WHILE. Passing the 600 metres MIGHTY WONG had to be steadied off the heels of ABBOTT HOUSE. At the 250 metres MIGHTY WONG had to be steadied off the heels of MONDRIAN which shifted out under riding. Jockey I Coombes (MONDRIAN) was severely reprimanded and advised to stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances. Following a report from Jockey J Cairns the veterinary surgeon inspected ABBOTT HOUSE and reported no abnormalities.

RACE 5 CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 9 STARTERS
FUTURE ROAD after jumping awkwardly shifted in shortly after the start resulting in DEVELOP being taken across the heels of CHOSEN CALIBRE. Jockey A Molino (FUTURE ROAD) was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear. Approaching the first turn DEVELOP got on the heels of WOULD BE FAMOUS and had to be eased. At the 800 metres CROSSEE was steadied off the heels of VELOCIDAD.

RACE 6 SPECIAL CONDITIONS HANDICAP 1200 METRES 8 STARTERS
INIGO STORM jumped awkwardly. Approaching the home turn CHANGING GEAR shifted out away from the heels of STAN and made contact with the shoulder of FOREIGN MONARCH. As a consequence FOREIGN MONARCH became unbalanced and hampered WARRIOR KHAN.
