Race 1: Troy Ilium QTIS 2-year-Old Handicap – 1000 m
1st – CHIEF RED REATHER 2nd – AMBER FUTUH 3rd – DODGY MISS 4th – MASTARA

SIMONE’S GOT CLASS (D. Green) and SWEET HONEYDEW (G. Kliese) were slow to get into stride.

At the start DODGY MISS (Apprentice R. Plumb) shifted in and bumped AMBER FUTUH (J. Stopps).

In the early stages SIMONE’S GOT CLASS (D. Green) raced ungenerously and at about the 300m shifted in abruptly.

DODGY MISS (Apprentice R. Plumb) raced greenly throughout.

Between the 900 metres and the 800 metres SWEET HONEYDEW (G. Kliese) over-raced and had to be eased away from the heels of MASTARA (P. Cullen).

At about the 550 metres MASTARA (P. Cullen) shifted out, taking DODGY MISS (Apprentice R. Plumb) wider.

Jockey J. Stopps, the rider of AMBER FUTUH, was reprimanded under A.R. 137A for excessive use of the whip.

Jockey P. Cullen, the rider of MASTARA, was advised that in future his use of the whip on 2-year-old horses will be monitored.

Race 2: Intervet Class 6 Handicap - 1000m
1st – FASLIYITSA 2nd – SEE YOU TWIST 3rd – FELLINO 4th – GOLDEN CARD

At the start FELLINO (P. Cullen) was crowded for room between GOLDEN CARD (S. Campton), which shifted out, and SEE YOU TWIST (Apprentice C. McCallum), which shifted in.

Shortly after the start GOLDEN CARD (S. Campton) was inconvenienced when crowded for room by FELLINO (P. Cullen), which shifted in slightly.

From the home turn until about the 250 metres REJECTED (Apprentice R. Plumb) was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

Race 3: Boehringer Ingelheim Maiden Handicap – 1000m
1st – WONKAVATOR 2nd – CONVULSION 3rd – STEEL QUEEN 4th – JULYENCLAIRI

Trainer Mr M. Reynolds was fined $100 under L. R. 70(1) for failing to declare M. Usher as the rider of MISTER MALCOLM by the prescribed time.

When the start was effected FAIR PHANESSA (L. Critoph) reared, shifted in and brushed THE BREWSTER (I. Toward).

On jumping RUSTY RAUTAI (F. Edwards) shifted in and bumped WONKAVATOR (N. Day).

MISTER MALCOLM (M. Usher) shifted out at the start and brushed CONVULSION (S. Campton).

Joining the course proper BEN’S HERITAGE (D. Green) shifted in and crowded BIALYSTOCK (G. Kliese), which was over-racing and had to be steadied. As a consequence BIALYSTOCK shifted in slightly and crowded RUSTY RAUTAI (F. Edwards).

Race 4: Norbrook Class 1 Handicap – 1000m
1st – FINAL SCORE 2nd – RIFLE 3rd – SIR TOFF 4th – VISCOUNT GRAND

On jumping OLD KILMORE (I. Toward) and MR PHOENIX (J. Felix) brushed.

At the start SO HIGHFALUTIN (G. Kliese) shifted in and brushed RIFLE (P. Cullen).

When questioned about his riding of VISCOUNT GRAND, Jockey W. Kenning said that he had been instructed to have the gelding on the pace in the early stages if possible. He explained that after beginning well from an outside barrier VISCOUNT GRAND was unable to clear runners to its inside and therefore he elected to ease back, but could not obtain a position close to the running rail and was obliged to race wide throughout event. Jockey Kenning added that the gelding failed to run on in the straight. Trainer Ms J. Bell confirmed that she had instructed Jockey W. Kenning to have the gelding race in a forward position if possible. She said that at its previous start, on 27 July 2006, the horse had over-raced and therefore she elected to remove the blinkers from its gear. The explanations tendered by Jockey Kenning and trainer Ms Bell were noted.

Race 5: Pfizer Class 1 Plate – 1630m
1st – I’M FABULOUS 2nd – MY AURA 3rd – BLACK WATTLE 4th – ORBITAL SANDER

In the early stages ORBITAL SANDER (J. Felix) over-raced.

At about the 200 metres DAD FORETELLS (A. Cox) stepped in momentarily and inconvenienced RISING INTEREST (N. Day).

Race 6: Fort Dodge Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
1st – DON’T COME LATE 2nd – DOMINATE KING 3rd – LIGHTED 4th – DEMOLITION

After being placed in the barriers MEDOWIE STORM (N. Day) broke through, was quickly restrained, returned to the barriers where it was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey P. Cullen, the rider of LIGHTED which finished third, to view the official video films with a view to lodging objections against DON’T COME LATE (D. Green) being declared first, and DOMINATE KING (G. Kliese) being declared second. After viewing the films Jockey P. Cullen elected not to lodge a protest against DON’T COME LATE being declared first, however he elected to lodge a protest against DOMINATE being declared second, alleging interference between the 400 metres and the 200 metres. Apprentice R. Plumb, the rider of VICTORY BEAU which finished 5th, also sought to view the official video films with a view to lodging an objection against LIGHTED being declared third. After viewing the films Apprentice Plumb elected not to lodge a protest. Prior to the commencement of the protest hearing Stewards acceded to a request by Jockey P. Cullen to withdraw the protest and correct weight was declared.

At the start MEDOWIE STORM (N. Day) shifted out and bumped DON’T COME LATE (D. Green).

On jumping UNPARTED (C. Whiteley) shifted in and cannoned into VICTORY BEAU (Apprentice R. Plumb), which was taken in onto HALO TO HEAVEN (S. Campton), which in turn was taken in and bumped DEMOLITION (F. Edwards).

Approaching the 850 metres UNPARTED (C. Whiteley), which was laying in, tightened DON’T COME LATE (D. Green) in onto LIGHTED (P. Cullen), which was momentarily hampered.

Near the 250 metres DOMINATE KING (G. Kliese) shifted in momentarily and inconvenienced LIGHTED (P. Cullen).

Jockey P. Cullen, the rider of LIGHTED, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that near the 150 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of VICTORY BEAU (Apprentice R. Plumb), resulting in that horse having to be restrained and losing its position and momentum. Jockey P. Cullen was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight 10th November 2006, up to and including 18th November 2006 (3NQ meetings).

Race 7: QRSE Bayer – Profender Handicap – 1400m
1st – SAM’S DREAM 2nd – SECRET RAIN 3rd – MEDOWIE EMPEROR 4th – RELOADED

The declaration of correct weight was delayed when stewards requested the judge to revisit the semaphored fifth placing. The judge then amended the fifth placing from SUPER BLITZ (G. Kliese) to AT THE SUMMIT (N. Day). Correct weight was then given.

At the start AT THE SUMMIT (N. Day) shifted out and bumped SAM’S DREAM (D. Evans).

KENWOOD ALLEGRO (F. Edwards) began awkwardly.

MEDOWIE EMPEROR (M. Usher) shifted out at the start and bumped SECRET RAIN (P. Cullen).

On jumping SPURIOUS (Apprentice R. Plumb) was tightened for room between SEGURA (G. Cullen), which shifted in, and ELMESSIAH (I. Toward), which shifted out.

In the early and middle stages GEOGRAPHICAL (J. Felix) and ELMESSIAH (I. Toward) raced wide.

Approaching the 1200 metres AT THE SUMMIT (N. Day) got its head up and refused to settle.

In the straight SEGURA (G. Cullen) was unable to obtain clear running.

Jockey P. Cullen, the rider of SECRET RAIN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that near the 50 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of AT THE SUMMIT (N. Day), which was dictated in and took the running of ELMESSIAH (I. Toward), causing that horse to be checked and lose its position. Jockey P. Cullen was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight 10/11/06 up to and including 21st November 2006 (4NQ meetings), to be served concurrently with the penalty imposed following Race 6 today.

Race 8: Jurox Class 3 Handicap – 1400m
1st – SHOVE OVER 2nd – WHAT A DUDE 3rd – HURRICANE VIC 4th – CHARLEE BUKIT

At the start STONESTEPPINGKEV (L. Critoph) shifted out onto CHARLEE BUKIT (P. Cullen), which was taken out onto NOAH’S REQUEST (I. Toward).

Near the 800 metres WOTZ FONG (C. Whiteley) commenced to over-race and had to be eased.

Approaching the 500 metres SHOVE OVER (M. Usher) and ARGYLE PINK (Apprentice R. Plumb) came together.

At about the 500 metres STONESTEPPINGKEV (L. Critoph) shifted out away from the running rail to improve and in doing so inconvenienced WOODIDIERE (A. Cox).

From the 450 metres SILVER TUSK (G. Kliese) was held up and unable to obtain clear running.
