GENERAL:

Stewards found an error in the allotted weight for SUPER LANGFUHR in Race 5. Acting under the provisions of A.R. 111A (4) stewards amended the allotted weight for the gelding from 57 kg to 55.5 kg. Numerous public announcements were made to inform the public accordingly.

1st – FIERY DIAMOND 2nd – EXPLODE 3rd – STEEL QUEEN 4th – GENEROUS GEM

At the start TAKARAZUKA (Apprentice S. Kaya) shifted out badly onto STEEL MERCHANT (J. Stopps), which was inconvenienced when crowded for room between TAKARAZUKA and STEEL QUEEN (I. Fry). TAKARAZUKA was then slow to get into stride.

Race 2: NQ Amateurs 24 & 25 August Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap – 1200 metres
1st - MONOS 2nd - KALAHARI PRINCE 3rd - BURMARRAD 4th - BETTAWATCHOUT

FLEET AFFAIR (Apprentice C. McCallum) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start CHARLWOOD (F. Edwards) was inconvenienced when crowded for room between MONOS (L. Morrison), which shifted out, and FAVORITE IDOL (C. Whiteley), which shifted in.

Apprentice S. Kaya, the rider of BURMARRAD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A. R. 137(a) in that near the final stages of the event he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting inwards when insufficiently clear of BETTAWATCHOUT (J. Felix), which was dictated inwards and took the running of JULYENCLAIRI (W. Kenning), which had to be checked severely and almost fell. Apprentice S. Kaya was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on 18th August 2007, up to and including 1st September 2007 (4 North Queensland meetings).
