RACE 1: Pop’s Luck (D Green) was reluctant to load, warning. Zen’s Pride (B Appo) was restless in the barrier. O’Hayley (A Parramore) jumped inward crowding Valerian Triomphe (G Geran). Jockey G Geran (Valerian Triomphe) was reprimanded when his mount went inward crowding O’Hayley, Stoddart (C Maund) and Pop’s Luck with the latter having to be eased at approx the 800m. Crazy Joe (R Goltz) raced wide throughout. Time off 4.15pm.

RACE 2: K Mahoney (Diet Daze) replaced App.N Tomizawa as he failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time due to road closures, (no other apprentice available). Complaint (T. Ikenushi) jumped in the air and was slow into stride. Wee Bonny Lass (B Compton) and Lungu (A Parramore) were both slow into stride. Flash Fred (J Walk) whilst racing fiercely rolled inward crowding Diet Daze at approx the 900m, then rolled inward crowding Winning Return (R Goltz) which got its head up in the air when being eased at approx the 800m. Approaching the 600m Lungu rolled outward hampering Zelda (G Geran) which made contact with Tango Music (J Baker). Rounding the home turn Dandy Boy (C Maund) rolled outward coming in contact with Complaint, which in turn made contact with Wee Bonny Lass. Rounding the home turn Diet Daze shifted outward hampering Zelda which in turn made contact with Tango Music. Stewards questioned Jockey J Walk concerning his mount’s disappointing performance he stated the colt jumped brilliantly to his surprise then raced extremely fiercely during the early stages of the race and would not settle at any stage when allowed to stride to the front, confirmed by stewards observations and film. On returning to scale Flash Fred underwent a Vet’s examination, which found no abnormalities and was sent to be swabbed. Time off 4.56pm.

RACE 3: B Compton replaced W Cook (Just A Cuddle) as he failed to arrive on course by the prescribed tome due to road closures. Aunty Marg (C Maund) jumped outward striking the outside upright. Bio Magic (J Walk) jumped inward hampering Bay Of Time (K Mahoney) which was slow into stride. Grand Chance (A Parramore) dipped at the start then raced ungenerously to approx the 900m. Tzarist (R Goltz) whilst going forward had to be eased off the heels of Grand Chance rounding the home turn. Power Seeker (N Tomizawa) raced fiercely during the early stages of the race, raced wide throughout hanging outward rounding the home turn. Time off 5.35pm.




RACE 4: Comic Capers (J Warrington ) was slow into stride. Moringa’s Mandrake (R Goltz) whilst being steadied at approx the 1100m put its head up in the air. Approaching the 1000m Sulimanalu (A Parramore) whilst racing keenly rolled inward hampering Light Fuse (W Cook) which shifted outwards buffeting Lerida Road (W Orbell) which had to be steadied. Light Fuse was held up rounding the home turn behind Police Truck (J Baker). Time off 6.15pm.

RACE 5: J Walk replaced R Goltz (Our Superboy) as he was indisposed for the remainder of the meeting. Naranghi Lass (K Mahoney) slipped behind at the jump. Snow Chariot (S Warren) jumped in the air when the gates opened. At approx the 1200m App.J Baker (Hail Rocket) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding when he permitted his mount to shift inward when insufficiently clear of Hot Chance (W Cook) which in turn went inward causing Naranghi Lass (K Mahoney) to be checked. App.J baker was suspended from riding in races from midnight the 12/6/00 up to and including 23/6/00 (7 meetings). At approx the 800m App.J Baker (Hail Rocket) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding when he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting inward which forced Hot Chance in onto Georgeous George (B Compton) resulting in the latter being checked. App.J Baker was suspended from riding in races from midnight the 12/6/00 up to and including the 24/6/00 (8 meetings) both penalties to be served concurrently. Stewards opened an inquiry into the handling of Snow Chariot in particular over the concluding stages of the race. It was found that App.S Warren had ridden to the instructions given by trainer and master R Maund who confirmed his instructions and applauded the efforts of his apprentice to get a non wet tracker to finish as close as it did in the conditions. App.S Warren felt she had done enough to hold on however the filly stopped noticeably over the final fifty meters. Stewards accepted the explanations of the apprentice however trainer R Maund was reprimanded for failing to notify the Stewards of the specific instructions that had wavered from the normal. A subsequent Vet’s examination found the filly to be sore in front and would undergo further examinations and x-rays. Time off 6.55pm.

RACE 6: W Orbell replaced R Goltz (Canny Design). Mr.Abot (J Baker) jumped outward coming in contact with Tempting Touch (W Cook). Dawn Breaker (C Maund) dipped crossing the 1500m crossing. Tempting Touch rolled inward hampering Notify Nick (G Geran) at approx the 800m. Time off 7.37pm.

RACE 7: B Compton replaced R Goltz (Deshane). Send A Storm (D Green) jumped on terms then slow into stride. Glint Of Morn (W Cook) jumped awkwardly. Paltrow (S Warren) shifted outward under pressure over the concluding stages of the race hampering Auld Hat (G Geran). Time off 8.07pm.

All winners were swabbed.
