Near the 850 meters Stegauruses, Beau Courage and Nor Nova were crowded for room by Ballroom Queen, which shifted in and away from Cawdor Crow. Near the 750 meters Beau Courage and Stegauruses, which were racing in restricted room to the inside of Nor Nova were both severely hampered when Nor Nova shifted in abruptly. Near the 150 meters Shedaddles was checked when tightened for room by Nor Nova, which shifted in and away from Cawdor Crow, which shifted in whilst hanging in. Stewards took no action against any rider due to the contributing factors. Time off 4.27 PM.

Indigo Grey jumped with its head in the air losing ground. Saw Mill Sally, which was racing ungenerously in the early stages, shifted in near the 850 meters momentarily crowding the running of Indigo Grey. Crazy Joe and Paris Triumph raced in restricted room to the inside of Nonediym Noodles for some distance leaving the 900 meters. Near the 750 meters Crazy Joe made contact with the hindquarters of Stoddart. Hellie Missed was forced to race wide throughout. Indigo Grey was held up for clear running from approaching the 400 meters until approaching the 100 meters. Approaching the 250 meters Crazy Joe, which was taken out by Paris Triumph, made contact with Hellie Missed. Hellie Missed then shifted out making contact with Saw Mill Sally. Shortly after Crazy Joe and Hellie Missed were taken in marginally by Saw Mill Sally, which was taken in by Truscan. Hello Pumpkin had trouble obtaining clear running from the 300 meters until approaching the 50 meters. A Veterinary inspection of Crazy Joe, which raced disappointingly, failed to reveal any abnormalities. Time off 5.45 PM.

Up The Bid, which shifted in to avoid the heels of Master Medes made heavy contact with the running rail. Over the concluding stages Oakey Jewel shifted in behind Carcory. When questioned why Midnight Moon was so far out of its ground in the early and middle stages Jockey G Lynch stated that his mount was reluctant to stretch out in the early and middle stages, explanation noted. Trainer E Ropiha advised Stewards that Midnight Moon would be sent for a spell. When questioned about the disappointing performance of Sunken Jockey C Small stated that he had discussed with connections the idea of starting to go forward earlier than normal as Sunken has proven that he can not sprint when the pace quickens quickly. C Small also stated that once he quickened on his mount he only went for 50 meters and weakened badly, explanation noted. A Subsequent Veterinary inspection of the gelding revealed that he had signs of a respiratory infection coming on. A Veterinary inspection of Peroxide, which weakened badly, failed to reveal any abnormality. A Veterinary inspection of Mifobia, which weakened badly, revealed that the Filly might have a palate problem. Trainer L Ross was advised that a Veterinary Certificate was required for the Filly prior to her next start. Time off 7.38 PM.
RACE: 7. Stewards amended the starting time to 8.23 PM due to some of the lights on the course losing power due to a storm which was active. The race was subsequently run in very heavy rain. Luskin Warrior was slowly away. Driving Rein laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned about the disappointing performance of Luskin Warrior Jockey R Goltz stated that he had his mount under the whip at the 800 meters and could offer no excuse apart from maybe the heavy rain. Time off 8.23 PM.
All winners were swabbed.
