RACE 1: BATTLE OF MILNE BAY 60TH ANNIVERSARY MAIDEN H'CAP – 900M.

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer M Currie why the rider of PRINCESS FIONA was not declared by the required time.

At the start HAREM NIGHTS was severely hampered by DON’T COMPLAIN, which was taken in by HIDDEN AMBITION, which jumped in.

RUNS LIKE BUCK was slowly away.

Near the 400m HIDDEN AMBITION was momentarily crowded for room by PRINCESS FIONA, which shifted in after being forced to race wide in the early stages.

Near the 350m SOLAR DANCER was tightened for room by DAY PASS, which was taken in by HIDDEN AMBITION (B Appo). B Appo was advised of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

PRINCESS FIONA, which raced greenly in the home straight, shifted in abruptly leaving the 200m.

DARAIN, which hung out throughout, finished very wide on the track. Trainer L Wheeler was advised that DARAIN is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

D Rewald (DON’T COMPLAIN) dropped his whip on the home turn.

Time off 4.22 pm.

RACE 2: HIGHFIELDS SEAFOODS & TAKEAWAYS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1520M.

Trainer R Maund was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for STELLAR SPECTRA by the required time.

BRANDY SUCCESS was steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room by CAWDOR SUNSET.

Approaching the 1200m MISS CANTHRILL and BRANDY SUCCESS were steadied when SPOT OF ALICE shifted out.

Time off 5.02 pm.

RACE 3: FM FUEL INJECTION & MECHANICAL CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1113M.

Trainer G Banks was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for ELEGANT CHOICE by the required time.

SPIRIT OF JACK and GOLD AMBER made contact on jumping.

SILVER BELLS was slowly away.

NIVEN jumped awkwardly.

Near the 850m THE BONDI EXPRESS was steadied when SPIRIT OF JACK shifted in marginally.

Approaching the 200m GOLD AMBER was momentarily held up for clear running.

CHRISTMAS HANDOUT was inclined to race ungenerously once placed under pressure in the home straight.

Time off 5.40 pm.

RACE 4: RW GROUP WILKE & CO REALTY CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1213M.

MAKIN’ TRACKS lost ground when it jump in the air as the gates opened.

VAIN AND HANDY and BOLD TYCOON were slowly away.

MAKIN’ TRACKS, which raced keenly in the early and middle stages, was eased from the heels of ALWAYS TRUMPS near the 550m.

A veterinary examination of RESTORATION, which weakened badly, failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 6.17 pm.





RACE 5: 25TH BATTALION ASSOCIATION FAREWELL CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1012M.

Due to a printer’s error in the racebook, L Robertson was shown as the rider for FRENCH MOVIE STAR, whereas L Morrison was the rider declared.

YOMBE and TRUSCAN were slowly away.

Leaving the 800m FRENCH MOVIE STAR was steadied when FLYING TAAN shifted out.

Time off 6.55 pm.

RACE 6: BRAKELAND TOOWOOMBA ENTIRES & GELDINGS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1313M.

Trainer T Tewes was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for BLAZING SHARI by the required time.

Trainer P Moncrieff was fined the sum of $50 for failing to enact the transfer of ownership of FRAME WORK.

On returning to scale jockey G Lynch rider of the third horse MAGIC GOLD lodged an objection against TARANA AVENUE (B Appo) being declared the winner for alleged interference shortly after the start. After hearing evidence from riders, connections and viewing of the patrol film, stewards dismissed the objection as they were of the opinion that horses to the inside of MAGIC GOLD contributed to the incident by shifting out.

At the start MAGIC GOLD was severely hampered between TARANA AVENUE, which jumped in making heavy contact and JEREZ, which was taken out by FRAME WORK.

Leaving the 800m FRAME WORK and TARANA AVENUE were crowded for room by SAMSUN.

Leaving the 800m MAGIC GOLD was steadied from the heels of LITTLE MATE, which was steadied from heels.

Leaving the 400m BLAZING SHARI was racing in restricted room to the inside of SAMSUN.

Leaving the 50m MAGIC GOLD was eased away from the heels of FRAME WORK when both shifted ground.

JEREZ, which bled during running, was retired from the event on the home turn. JEREZ, which bled previously, is now banned from racing for life.

Time off 7.37 pm.







RACE 7: RANGE HEALTH & VITALITY FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1313M.

EYES FOREVER was slowly away.

Shortly after the start INDIGO GOLD, which shifted out made contact with LA SEGRETA.

Leaving the 850m PLUSH SPLENDOUR, which shifted out made contact with BANGALOW BELLE.

Shortly after PLUSH SPLENDOUR got its head up whilst being eased.

Approaching the 100m YOU SEE A STAR shifted out and brushed KEEPETH.

Time off 8.12 pm.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.

24-08-02: Foreman P Dawson reported that MAGICAL MAN was lame in the near hind after competing at the Dalby Meeting on 15-08-02.
