RACE 1: OLEO TRADING PTY LTD MAIDEN H'CAP - 1021M.
K Banks (LORD SPARROW) replaced L Roberts who had commitments at the Bell meeting. Stewards accepted the explanation of L Roberts why he failed to fulfil his engagement.
L Karklis (RESIST TEMPTATION) replaced P Moodie who failed to arrive on course by the required time. Stewards accepted the explanation of P Moodie why he failed to fulfil his engagement.
Behind the barriers, K Banks (LORD SPARROW) was dislodged from her mount. LORD SPARROW was caught after going a short distance and was subsequently cleared to start.
DARAIN and SERA MODE jumped awkwardly.
At the start ALWAYS ED, RESIST TEMPTATION, BREN HELENA and LORD SPARROW were hampered by HELLO CHIEF, which jumped out. Shortly after BREN HELENA clipped heels and blundered when tightened for room between LORD SPARROW and RESIST TEMPTATION, which was taken out by ALWAYS ED, which continued to shift out after being taken out initially by HELLO CHIEF.
Leaving the 800m ALWAYS ED made contact with the running rail when tightened for room by RESIST TEMPTATION, which shifted in abruptly after being crowded for room by LORD SPARROW, which shifted in whilst racing greenly.
At the 550m ALWAYS ED brushed the running rail.
JUST A GOOD TIME was steadied over the concluding stages when crowded for room by EMMA JILL (B Appo), which shifted in whilst being ridden with the whip. B Appo was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
ALWAYS ED returned to scale with lacerations to the near fore, off fore and near hind leg.

RACE 2: MATARANKA GRAINS / CLIFTON SEED GRADER MAIDEN H'CAP - 1222M.
At the start BASKET jumped out taking SEND IN D'CAVALRY onto SPICY GAL.
At the start YELVERTON, KWIGEBO and REASONED were hampered by ROLLING DESTINY, which was taken out by BARAND'S BOY, which jumped out.
Leaving the 900m YELVERTON, which was racing greenly got its head up whilst being eased from heels.
Near the 850m YELVERTON was crowded for room by KWIGEBO, which was taken in by CAIMBEAL (K Banks). In this incident KWIGEBO appeared to knuckle. K Banks was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.
Near the 800m ROLLING DESTINTY, which was pulling hard shifted out to avoid the heels of PETE'S REVENGE.
Approaching the 700m ROLLING DESTINTY, which was pulling hard, shifted out coming into contact with CLASSY PRINCE.
Leaving the 400m ROLLING DESTINTY and CLASSY PRINCE made contact.

RACE 3: BRISBANE EXPORT CORPORATION CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1222M.
At the start TOP BOLT, which jumped awkwardly and out making contact with the gate, was hampered shortly after by TIMEO, which jumped in.
Near the 1100m GOLD HEART was steadied when cramped for room by BON VIVEUR, which shifted in.
Near the 550m TIMEO made contact with the running rail when crowded for room by FAIRYMAN (T Ono), which rolled in momentarily. T Ono was advised of his responsibilities when shifting ground.
Leaving the 200m ADAM'S CURSE shifted in and made contact with FAIRYMAN.
FAIRYMAN shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: FOX COMMODITIES CLASS 5 H'CAP - 1635M.
UP THE BID jumped in the air as the gates opened.
RANCH RHYTHM and MAHOGANY JET got their head up approaching the 1300m whilst pulling hard.
Leaving the 400m UP THE BID was held up for clear running.
MAHOGANY JET was held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

RACE 5: DOWNS GRAIN EXPORTERS CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1021M
At the start COSSEGO, CORRIDOR WHISPERS and JUST GUS were hampered by COUNT JESTER, which jumped out.
Time off: 6.30 pm.
RACE 6: PETER HENRY GRAINS CLASS 2 H'CAP -1122M.
TELLEM was slowly away.
At the start CLEAR STRATEGY jumped in making contact with GEORGE THOMAS.
Near the 600m SKI THE TIDE was momentarily cramped for room by MAGIC OF ROSIE, which rolled in.

RACE 7: UNCLE BEN’S OF AUSTRALIA CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1635M.
MISS CANTHRILL jumped out and across the running of SILK QUILT, which was slowly away.
KINGS' BISHOP and BROPHY made contact on jumping.
BROPHY raced wide throughout.
EYES FOREVER laid in over the concluding stages.
Time off 7.40 pm.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
20/03/03: Stewards resumed the inquiry into the reason E Simmons (UNATTAINABLE) was dislodged near the 700m, at the Toowoomba meeting on the 8/03/03. After taking further evidence from riders S Aizawa, J Warrington, A Parramore, B Appo and evidence from E Simmons, S Aizawa was subsequently found guilty of a careless riding charge in that near the 700m he permitted his mount PURSANCE to shift out when insufficiently clear of UNATTAINABLE, resulting in E Simmons being dislodged when her mount struck the heels of PURSANCE and blundered. SAINT YALTA, ROLLING DESTINY, THROW A HEART and KAWENDE were hampered in the incident. S Aizawa was suspended from riding in races for a period of 1 month to take affect as of mid - night 22/03/03 and to expire at mid - night 22/04/03.
