WEATHER - FNE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - TRUE POSITION


RACE 1: STOCK EXCHANGE HOTEL F&M MAIDEN H'CAP - 1200M.

MRS FAIRWEATHER broke through the barriers prior to the start being effected, however was quickly restrained by its rider. The mare was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

ALTAO and PARTY POOPER made contact on jumping away.

CANDY'S REPORT jumped outwards at the start and made contact with LITTLE PRETTY.

MRS FAIRWEATHER also jumped outwards as the gates were released and made contact with MISS DANTE.

At the 850m., CANDY'S REPORT got its head in the air whilst being eased away from the heels of LITTLE PRETTY.

At the same stage, WEDDING BAND, whilst being restrained, got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.

Near the 700m., CANDY'S REPORT made contact with the running rail of its own accord.

At approximately the 350m., BALLY BRIANNA shifted out and brushed LITTLE PRETTY, forcing LITTLE PRETTY wider on the track.

WEDDING BAND shifted in over the final 250m. whilst being ridden with the whip.

RACE 2: SPOTTED COW HOTEL E&G MAIDEN H'CAP - 1100M.

CLODBUSTER jumped inwards at the start, hampering PUNKY ERA.

GEE JAY BEE also jumped inwards at the start, hampering ILSOBAR and CHARIOT'S TIP.

DREAMERS DISEASE and UNATTAINABLE were both slowly away.

At the 750m., PUNKY ERA and CLODBUSTER made contact.

Near the 650m., UNATTAINABLE had to be steadied between BARTOK and DREAMER'S DISEASE, which shifted out. R. Kerwin, rider of DREAMER'S DISEASE, was reminded of her obligations to be fully clear when shifting ground.


Leaving the 300m., PURSUANCE shifted in slightly, hampering GEE JAY BEE. PURSUANCE continued to hang in for the remainder of the event.

RACE 3: FEDERAL HOTEL MOTEL CLASS 2 H'CAP - 900M.

On return to scale, a protest was lodged by D. Ballard, rider of the 3rd placegetter, DYNAMIC DANCING, against KISMA being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 650m.. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards dismissed the objection when they found that the degree of interference suffered by DYNAMIC DANCER in this incident did warrant a reversal of placings. At a subsequent inquiry, it was established that at approximately the 650m., DYNAMIC DANCING and JEMABELLE had to be steadied when KISMA shifted in. B. Stewart, rider of KISMA, was cautioned and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground.

KID CHARLEMAGNE jumped outwards at the start, making contact with FAIR RALEIGH.

At the 800m., JACK'S ROSE had to be steadied when tightened for room by JEMABELLE. S. Apthorpe, rider of JEMABELLE, was cautioned.

Near the 300m., S. Apthorpe, rider of JEMABELLE, was obliged to restrain his mount when tightened for room between SUAVE THOUGHT and JACK'S ROSE, which shifted out. A. Parramore, rider of JACK'S ROSE, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.

RACE 4: J J ATKINS DEBUTANTE STAKES QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP - 1200M.

MISS YUEN YUEN jumped awkwardly, and shortly after shifted in, making contact with PICADAY.

PICADAY raced greenly in the early stages.

Approaching the 800m., SAGAMORE had to be eased when cramped for room to the inside of ARCTIC FIRE.

Leaving the 800m., SAM'S FOLLY shifted in and made contact with the running rail. ARCTIC FIRE, CRAIGLEA HEAVEN, MISS YUEN YUEN, MIRACLE SOUND and PICADAY, which were following, were all hampered as a consequence.

Near the 400m., MIRACLE SOUND made heavy contact with the running rail when tightened for room by PICADAY, which shifted in abruptly away from ARCTIC FIRE despite the efforts of its rider.

P. Spry, rider of SAGAMORE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 200m. when insufficiently clear of FREE AS AIR, resulting in FREE AS AIR being checked. P. Spry was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 meetings, to commence at midnight, 29 March, and to expire at midnight, 12 April 2003.

RACE 5: BOC GASES QTIS 3YO CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1100M.

MR CHEVY and SPORTS CLASS were slow to begin.

TRUDOUGH blundered shortly after entering the straight.

Approaching the 800m., LEEARTO got its head up whilst being eased off heels.

SHOW BIZ KID raced wide throughout, and shifted out further over the concluding stages, hampering LEEARTO.

On time


RACE 6: HIGH COURT CAFÉ JAMES TAYLOR CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1100M.

At the start, STYLISH COSSACK, PISANI BAY and KEEP THE ACE were all hampered between ILLUMINAR, which jumped outwards, and GUNS ABLAZE, which jumped in.

Approaching the 100m., STYLISH COSSACK had to be eased when cramped for room between MIAMI DRIVE, which shifted out, and AFRICAN QUEEN, which shifted in whilst hanging in.

KEEP THE ACE was held up for clear running upon entering the straight.

RACE 7: CARLTON DRAUGHT WEETWOOD H'CAP - 1300M.

Prior to the start, AGGRAVTION reared up, resulting in the gelding's near fore leg being momentarily caught over the partition.

At the start, EL TEMPESTAD, SMART CHARIOT and OUT BREAK were all hampered between LAURINEL ARGIE, which jumped outwards, and FOXMORE, which jumped inwards.

Leaving the 1200m., SMART CHARIOT had to be eased when cramped for room by OUT BREAK, which was laying in.

Approaching the 800m., AGGRAVATION, which was pulling hard, had to be eased away from the heels of ALPINE EXPRESS.

Leaving the 600m., THONG AND PUSHBIKE was tightened on to the running rail by RAW INSTINCT, which was inclined to lay in.

At the 500m., the saddle on SMART CHARIOT shifted to the nearside, resulting in its rider, A. Robinson, being placed at a severe disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

Leaving the 400m., OUT BREAK had to be steadied when momentarily cramped for room between SMART CHARIOT and FOREST JIM, which shifted out.

Nearing the finish line, SLIPSTREAM shifted in under pressure, hampering AGGRAVATION.

RACE 8: FIBBER MAGEE IRISH PUB CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1300M.

Trainer T. Webb was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for TARANA AVENUE by the prescribed time.

RUSTY RANCH jumped outwards at the start and made contact with WILL RISK.

Shortly after the start, CHASSIS had to be steadied when DOUBLE JOKER shifted out.

Approaching the 800m., THE DRYDOCKER got its head up when being eased.

Leaving the 800m., INTERLINGO and WILL RISK were tightened for room to the inside of TARANA AVENUE, which shifted in to avoid the heels of ALFONSO, which shifted in. T. Ono, rider of ALFONSO, was reprimanded for shifting in when insufficiently clear to do so.

DOUBLE JOKER raced erratically when placed under pressure in the straight.

ZEMUS was forced to race wide throughout the race.
