RACE 1: K & R PLUMBING SUPPLIES MAIDEN H'CAP – 900M
Stewards granted permission to K. Fauser, the trainer of JATINAMEL JADE, to advise jockey Goltz not to use the whip on his mare.
Both STEAMBOAT and AVANITA were slow to begin.
JATINAMEL JADE jumped away awkwardly making contact with FAIRLY BROKE.
Shortly after the start LIFEINTHEFASTLANE was tightened for room and forced to ease when BLAZING SILVER shifted in.
Nearing the 550m STEAMBOAT, which was racing ungenerously, was forced to ease from heels.
Both BLAZING SILVER, which was inclined to hang out, and CEREMONIAL SON raced wide throughout the event.
Jockey C. Eaton (BONALIA) accidentally dropped her whip near the 250m.

RACE 2: TOOWOOMBA HOSPICE MAIDEN H'CAP – 900M
As Jockey S. Bayliss was ill D. Gill replaced him as the rider of MAIDO SHOORISHA.
Connections of MAIDO SHOORISHA were advised a warning was placed on the filly due to its pre-race behavior.
EASY CHARIOT, having its first race start, jumped away awkwardly and shifted out for the first 100m of the race.
TESTING TIME was slow to begin.
MISS TAMARA raced greenly in the early stages of the race.

RACE 3: TOOWOOMBA HOSPICE QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1000M
Stewards accepted the explanation of jockey P. Wolfgram who had been declared for two rides and took no further action
SHEZAWRAN reared as the gates opened and lost ground.
NEW SOUTH jumped away awkwardly.
DANISH MIST, SEMPENNY and CRAIGLEA PATH were all slow to begin.
Approaching the 750m CRAIGLEA PATH struck the fence and lost ground when shifting in and away from NEW SOUTH.
DANISH MIST forced to race wide until leaving the 500m.
TASMAN EXPRESS, which raced greenly hanging out.
FRONT DOOR inclined to hang out in the straight.
POTTERS MATE inclined to hang in over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: J J RICHARDS & SONS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M
Jockey W. Cook (TRAPPER JOHN) delayed arriving from another venue replaced by P. Spry.
JUDICIAL REPORT was slow to begin.
Jockey P. Wolfgram issued with a severe reprimanded for allowing his mount DRUKEN JOKER to shift in shortly after the start coming into contact with TRAPPER JOHN forcing that horse in onto CHAMPION STAR which was forced to ease and at the same time PRINCESS FIONA shifted out causing SNAPPETY to shift out resulting in BREAKER’S WELLS being forced to check and lose ground.
Jockey P. Wolfgram the rider of DRUNKEN JOKER was charged with careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 1000m when insufficiently clear of TOP RANGE resulting in the latter shifting in causing ARNAULT to check and shift out onto TOP RANGE which caused RUSTIC TREASURE to steady resulting in BANKA BUCK to ease. Jockey P Wolfgram was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) meetings commencing midnight, February 7, 2004 up to and including February 19, 2004.
Approaching the 750m KING JON JON hung in causing tightening to CHAMPION STAR, which shifted in causing tightening to SNAPPETY.

RACE 5: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT H'CAP – 1100M
JUST GUS was slow to begin.
Approaching the 550m THREATNER hung in hampering MIGHT AND GOLD.
SCENIC WELLS held up for clear running in the straight.

RACE 6: GRAND CENTRAL SHOPPING CENTRE CLASS 4 H'CAP – 2050M
Jockey G. Geran (BAG LADY) reported ill replaced by R. Morris.
EYE GEE AYE was slow to begin.
Passing the winning post first time around, EYE GEE AYE rolled in tightening TRENDY TIME.
Approaching the 1600m GENESIS shifted in tightening the running of TRENDY TIME forcing that horse to be steadied. Jockey N. Evans reprimanded for this incident.
ROLLING ALONG was forced to ease from heels approaching the 1400m when the pace slackened.

RACE 7: QRSE BARBARA TURLEY MEMORIAL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1500M
Jockey G. Geran (DOONAN DANCER) reported ill replaced by R. Morris.
HOT FOOTING and KITSCH were both slow to begin.
LOVE AND GOLD drifted out under pressure final 100m.

RACE 8: QRSE RAY WHITE TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
Jockey G. Geran (WINCHARIOT) reported ill replaced by C. Eaton.
Jockey P. Wolfgram (SNOW WORRIES) stood down acting on medical advice, replaced by M. Tarrant.
LADY DIABLO and MIESQUE’S MAGIQUE were both slow to begin.
Approaching the 1200m WAY TOO FAST was slightly inconvenienced when TOO RIGHT shifted out. as a result of this incident WAY TOO FAST raced ungenerously for a short distance.
Approaching the 900m OUR REGAL GREY, which was over racing, was further hampered by SNOW WORRIES, which shifted out.
BRIGALOW SCRUB was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight. Shortly afterwards BRIGALOW SCRUB was further hampered by FLIGHT OF FUN which was forced to shift out when FAIR MONARCH shifted out. Jockey M. Gray, the rider of FAIR MONARCH was reprimanded for this incident.
