RACE 1:RAY WHITE TOOWOOMBA 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M.

MISS PERIWINKLE and CASACO were slowly away.

At the start RETENTION was crowded for room between ROAD TO HONOURS and AZURA, which jumped in.

Near the 950m IT’S HOT was steadied when crowded for room by KINGSTON QUEEN.

Approaching the 800m PROTEST VOTE was steadied from the heels of ROAD TO HONOURS, which shifted in.

Approaching the 800m RETENTION was forced wider on the track by PIANO QUEEN.

IT’S HOT was held up for clear running from the 200m until leaving the 100m.

AZURA raced wide throughout.

Time off 3.53 PM.

RACE 2: IAN CUMMING MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M.

CERTAIN HARMONY and KHIRGIZ made contact on jumping away.

MY GAME jumped out coming into contact with the gate.

Shortly after the start I’M A SHOWGIRL, SUR LE BLOND, OBE WAN KENOBI and KHIRGIZ were crowded for room between BARBARIAN, which shifted out and CERTAIN HARMONY, which shifted in.

THE FITTER raced wide throughout.

Stewards inquired into the reason KHIRGIZ (C Bumstead) clipped the heels of SIR STYLE (C Kearney) and fell approaching the 250m. After taking evidence from riders C Kearney, C Bumstead, stewards and viewing of the patrol film it was established that KHIRTIZ shifted in and SIR STYLE shifted out. Stewards took no action against any rider as they were of the opinion that the initial and main shift came from KHIRGIZ.

Time off 4.33 PM.

RACE 3: QRSE CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1600M.

M Gray (MUKQUIN) replaced L Cook.

CLEOPATRA’S NEEDLE lost ground when it blundered on jumping.

RED OAKS was slowly away.

At the start EMILIANO jumped out making contact with TELTREE.

Near the 1400m MUKUIN was eased from the heels of ROLLING ALONG (W Cook), which shifted in. W Cook was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

Near the 1400m LAWSON HILL got its head up whilst being eased.

Leaving the 500m TELTREE and ZEMUS were forced wider on the track by EMILIANO, which shifted out abruptly.

Near the 200m THROW A HEART was taken in by RED OAKS, which shifted in abruptly whilst tiring.

TELTREE was held up for clear running for entire length of the home straight.

Time off 5.15 PM.

RACE 4: IAN CUMMING CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1300M.

K Banks (MOOKFREUX) replaced A Lane who was unable to ride the required weight. Stewards did not take any action against A Lane as they took into account that he was substituted as the rider mid – morning.

BIRUBI CHOSEN jumped away awkwardly.

STELLAR SPECTRA and MOOKFREUX were slowly away.

MOOKFREAUX raced wide from the 800m.

Time off 5.55 PM.

RACE 5: RAY WHITE TOOWOOMBA H'CAP – 1200M.

JUST GUS and MAKIN’ TRACKS were slowly away.

MAKIN’ TRACKS raced wide from the 800m.

Time off 6.30 PM.

RACE 6: QRSE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1100M.

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer K Doughty why the rider for TARATA BAY was not declared by the required time.

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer M Berlin why the rider for SOUTHBROOK KID was not declared by the required time.

SANDY STAR reared high as the gates opened losing considerable ground. Trainer S Wade was advised that SANDY STAR is required to barrier trail to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

SOUTHBROOK KID (M Gray) reared high as the gates opened, dislodging the rider. M Gray was not injured in the incident. Trainer M Berlin was advised that SOUTHBROOK KID is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction prior to its next start.

Stewards ruled that both SOUTHBROOK KID and SANDY STAR were given full opportunity to obtain a fair start.

Near the 550m DESTINY MAGIC was checked when it improved to the inside of the heels PYE where there was insufficient room.

When questioned about his lack of vigour in the home straight A Lane (JEN’S DELIGHT) stated that his mount work hard in the early stages and was tiring rounding the home turn. A Lane also stated that his mount failed to respond when he gave it two smacks with the whip in the early stages of the home straight. Stewards advised A Lane that they accept that his mount was tiring out of the race, but in similar circumstances stewards expect him to test his mount until it has no chance of finishing in the prize money.
Time off 7.05 PM.

RACE 7: QTIS 3-Y-O CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1300M

N Evans (RED MOUNTAIN) replaced A Lane who was unable to ride the required weight. A Lane was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ride the required weight.

MAIZCAY MISS and RED MOUNTAIN were slowly away.

Near the 900m CHAMPION STAR was eased when crowded for room by GENALTA, which shifted in momentarily.

Near the 850m RAJA PRINCE appeared to strike the near side heel of CHAMPION STAR, resulting in CHAMPION STAR, becoming unbalanced and shifting out making contact with CAMBOOYA.

RAJA PRINCE, which was following was eased from heels for a short distance.

Time off 7.42 PM.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
