REPLACEMENTS

Jockey P. Spry who was unable to fulfil his engagements due to unforseen circumstances was replaced by: S. Killen (COURT ADJOURNED) and L Roberts (DIAMONDANA).

RACE 1: TOOWOOMBA CITY FM CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1640M.

In the racebook, C Spry was shown as the rider of FATHER KNOWS BEST, whereas G Geran was the declared rider.

FATHER KNOWS BEST and VALLUGA made contact on jumping away.

Approaching the 1200m EDITOR IN CHIEF got its head up whilst being eased as the pace steadied.

ROLLING ALONG raced wide in the early and middle stages.

FATHER KNOWS BEST laid out from the 550m until the early stages of the home straight.

VALLUGA hung out from the 400m.

Near the 250m EDITOR IN CHIEF was steadied from the heels of VALLUGA, which shifted out.

GENERAL SAM shifted in over the concluding stages.

Time off 4.41 PM.

RACE 2: QRSE CLIFFORD PARK SPECIAL SCHOOL MAIDEN H'CAP – 1024M.

RARE PROSPECT jumped out coming into heavy contact with FINE DIAMOND DAY, which jumped away awkwardly.

BID TO WIN and BREATHE jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 950m SUNBBURNT SANTA, whilst hanging in, shifted in taking BID TO WIN onto GHATALIERI.

Near the 900m FINE DIAMOND DAY (Z. Landry) shifted in abruptly coming into heavy contact with BREATHE, which lost ground in the incident. Z. Landry was severely reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in so abruptly.

Near the 750m MISTER KNIGHT was eased from the heels of RARE PROSPECT.

Approaching the 600m MORINGA’S HOBO got its head up whilst being eased from heels.

Leaving the 550m BREATHE was eased when FINE DIAMOND DAY (Z. Landry) shifted in. Z. Landry was reminded of her obligations when her mount is shifting ground.

Leaving the 100m MORINGA’S HOBO was steadied from the heels of MISTER KNIGHT (H. Hamada), which shifted in. H. Hamada was reminded of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

BREATHE hung in throughout.

Time off 5.20 PM.

RACE 3: CROWS NEST FM CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1024M.

At the start LIGHTNING ANGEL jumped in taking FRISCO’S ROSE onto HALLUCE’S DEVOTION, which dwelt as the gates opened.

NEWSWORLD jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 350m SOUTHBROOK KID was momentarily cramped for room by ROAD TO HONOURS, which rolled in.

Approaching the 100m SOUTHBROOK KID was checked when disappointed for a run to the inside of FRISCO’S ROSE where there was questionable room.

HALLUCE’S DEVOTION raced wide throughout.

ROAD TO HONOURS laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of LIGHTNING ANGEL, Jockey J. Sharp stated that his mount did not perform at any stage of the race and he could offer no reasonable excuse for the performance. A Veterinary examination of LIGHTNING ANGEL failed to reveal any abnormality.
Time off 5.55 PM.

RACE 4: QRSE CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1226M.

Shortly after the start PALATASH shifted out and across the running of BIRUBI CHOSEN and RA RA RULENZA, which were slowly away.

PUBLIC EYE jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 400m COURT ADJOURNED shifted out making contact with CHIEF QUALO on two occasions. In this incident CHIEF QUALO became unbalanced.

PICKWORTH and CHIEF QUALO raced wide throughout.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of PICKWORTH, Jockey S. Apthorpe stated that his mount was obliged to race wide without cover throughout when he was unable to steadied him in the early stages. S Apthorpe also stated that PICWORTH has previously raced keenly with him when he was unable to get cover early, explanation noted. A Veterinary examination of PICWORTH failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 6.30 PM.

RACE 5: RANGE FM MAIDEN PLATE – 1226M.

RUNNING WARRIOR and SHADI were slowly away.

Leaving the 1000m CHOIKOV was reluctant to hold its position when crowded for room by DIAMONDANA, which was taken in marginally by CIVVY STREET.

Approaching the 800m DIAMONDANA whilst hanging out shifted out forcing CIVVY STREET and SHADI wider on the track.

Leaving the 500m RUNNING WARRIOR shifted in whilst racing greenly.

Approaching the 450m CHOIKOV blundered when it struck the heels of DIAMONDANA, which shifted out whilst lying out.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of CHOIKOV, Jockey K Yoshida stated that his mount did not perform at any stage. K Yoshida also stated that the performance might have been attributed to racing in blinkers and under lights for the first time, explanation noted. A subsequent Veterinary examination of CHOIKOV revealed that the gelding was very tied up after cooling down. Trainer J Atkins was advised that a Veterinary clearance is required for CHOIKOV prior to its next start.

Time off 7.05 PM.

RACE 6: HIGHFIELDS FM CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1326M.

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer P Blanch why the rider for ALMIGHTY AL was not declared by the required time.

ALMIGHTY AL, which bolted for some distance during the preliminary, was cleared by the Veterinary Surgeon to start.

EBONY SMILE lost ground when it jumped in the air as the gates opened.

MARALUMIE knuckled on jumping away.

Leaving the 1000m for some distance ALMIGHTY AL was eased from the heels of TEMPLE JACK (K Yoshida). K Yoshida was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

Approaching 850m SHEZAWRAN shifted out and made contact with TEMPLE JACK.

Leaving the 850m EBONY SMILE was eased from the heels ALMIGHTY AL.

Leaving the 850m SEQUALO GIRL was eased when it improved to the inside of the heels of SHEZAWRAN, where there was insufficient room.

Near the 750m SEQUALO GIRL was eased when crowded for room by TEMPLE JACK, which rolled in.

Approaching the 700m ALMIGHTY AL hung out onto the heels of REGAL CORINTO.

A Veterinary examination of ALMIGHTY AL, which performed disappointingly, revealed that the gelding sustained a cut to the outside of the near fore leg during running.

Time off 7.42 PM.
