RACE 1: JOE BRADY MEMORIAL 3 YR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1030MTS

Trainer P. Strong (LINDMARK STAR) fined $100.00 late declaration of rider under rule LR70

OUR NETTY jumped away awkwardly lost ground.

PALACE LOVER and DANCE FOR BINDY were both slowly away.

Jockey M. Dorrington (DANCE FOR BINDY) found guilty and charged with careless riding in terms of rule 137(a) for allowing his mount to shift in near the 550m when insufficiently clear of LINDMARK STAR which had to be checked and shifted in causing GEMSTONE PEAK to shift in and strike the fence and lose ground. Jockey M. Dorrington suspended from riding in races from midnight March 11, 2006 up to and including March 23, 2006, a period of seven (7) meetings.

Leaving the 550m SEMI IMPOSE shifted out coming into minor contact with ALLOWAY QUEEN.

RACE 2: WAGNERS CLASS 1 HANDCAP 1134MTS

Protest lodged by H. Hamada rider of second placegetter LEGAL PURSUIT against KING COLE being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference in the early stages of the home straight was dismissed and judges places to stand. Apprentice H. Hamada issued a warning for a frivolous protest.

WOTSAMATTY was slowly away.

Shortly after the start LEGAL PURSUIT which jumped awkwardly out continued out and at the same time PIPE DREAM jumped in making heavy contact with IRISH ADVICE which in turn made contact with STOLEN BEAUTY who became unbalanced momentarily and tightened the running of STUD POKER.

EL PECADOR and STUD POKER raced wide throughout.

PIPE DREAM hung in from 700m and near the 550m caused tightening to IRISH ADVICE who struck the fence. STOLEN BEAUTY which was following was also inconvenienced.

Over the concluding stages LEGAL PURSUIT rolled in crowding WOTSAMATTY.

WOTSAMATTY returned to scale lame in the near fore. Following a Veterinary examination connections were advised a Veterinary certificate is required prior to the filly next racing.

RACE 3: TOOWOOMBA HOLDEN CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1003MTS

IVORFRAAR jumped out as MCKENNY jumped in causing inconvenience to HURRICANE ANNIE which lost ground.

Approaching the 750m HURRICANE ANNIE eased from the heels of LAVINIA MARY and in doing so shifted out slightly hampering MR SPORTSMAN.

Apprentice S. Drake (MR SPORTSMAN) was cautioned on her use of the whip over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: QRSE HARVEY NORMAN ST PATRICK’S CUP CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1332MTS

BANKA BUCK jumped out and STAR SAUVAGE jumped in causing general crowding to HOODOO VOODOO and ROBERTS REWARD both of which lost ground.

ST NICCO raced wide in the early stages.

Approaching the 1100m SOUND WAVES, whilst over racing, shifted out abruptly making contact with ROBERTS REWARD.

Whilst hanging out THE BIG EASY raced wide throughout. Connections advised warning placed on the gelding.

Over the concluding stages whilst taking a narrow run HOODOO VOODOO made contact with JOEKEN.

RACE 5: HUTCHINSON BUILDERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1332MTS

CANDY APPLE ROSE jumped out and WORD HAS IT jumped in crowding DRESS CODE which was slow.

SPECIAL CELESTE and DARBY ROSER made contact at the start.

SPECIAL DAWN and DARBY ROSER raced wide in the middle stages.

WORD HAS IT held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

RIGHT SPICE forced to race wide on the home turn when DARBY ROSER shifted out to secure a clear passage.

Approaching the 150m DRESS CODE was held up for clear running and had to be checked off the heels of CANDY APPLE ROSE near the 100m.

Over the concluding stages RIGHT SPICE laid in on SPECIAL DAWN.

RACE 6: EUROKA KITCHENS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1332MTS

Apprentice H. Hamada (SPINNING MAGIC) replaced Apprentice P. Randall who was injured at another venue.

JAYEFFGEE and LORD SUNDRIDGE brushed on jumping.

LORD SUNDRIDGE dipped near the 1200m.

YESSAM NIL raced greenly throughout, climbing and getting its head in the air. Stewards placed a warning on the horse for its racing manners.

Time off 6.57 p.m.

RACE 7: IRISH CLUB HOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1650MTS

M. Dorrington (JEST AUREUS) replaced G. Geran who reported ill.

LITTLE DIMPLE and JEST AUREUS were slowly away.

MISTER BOOLA caught wide in the middle stages of the race.

STORM CITY held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

BIRALLEE BABE, which finished a distant last, inspected by the Veterinary officer who found no abnormalities.

SHEENA’S PRIDE raced greenly in the straight hampering MISTER BOOLA near the 100m then shifted in hampering STAR BOULEVARD which had to ease. Apprentice S. Drake was cautioned and advised to exercise more care when her mount is shifting ground.
