RACE 1: GEORGES WINE BAR THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1000 MTS

ME LORD CLANG slowly away.

TOUCAN DANCE slowly away.

PORT WAIKATO jumped awkwardly and out losing ground.

MARGUERITA jumped awkwardly then lost ground when hampered by KING ALI which was taken in by DANCE FOR BINDY.

DANCE FOR BINDY raced wide throughout.

Time off 3.07 p.m.

RACE 2: SSS BBQ MAIDEN PLATE 1600MTS

TEMANGUM BAY was slowly away.

SANDSTORM dwelt as the gates opened.

GUY’S GIFT jumped awkwardly and out, raced wide throughout.

LADY BEAUFORT raced keenly in the early stages of the race.

ALVALDI over-raced in the early stages of the race and had to come off the heels of HERDSMAN near the 1200m mark.

SANDSTORM held up for clear running rounding the home turn and got its head up in the air when it had to be eased from the heels of LADY BEAUFORT.

MINTO’S GOLD which was tiring, blundered near the 400m.

Trainer L Patton (MAD MOUSE) questioned concerning the mares improved performance. Trainer Patton felt the mares last run at the Sunshine Coast was disappointing and felt that that race was run at a very fast pace where she got well back in the field . Trainer Patton felt the mare lived up to her third at Toowoomba on March 25, 2006 where she got into a lot of trouble during the race but finished well. Explanation noted.

RACE 3: PAUL HANNANT MEMORIAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1600MTS

Apprentice H Hamada (AGENT EIGHTYSIX) replaced Apprentice I French who was unable to make it back from another venue by the appointed time. Stewards accepted Apprentice French’s explanation.

A Parramore (MR FAHRENHEIT) replaced C Kearney who was unable to make it back from another venue by the appointed time. Stewards accepted Kearney’s explanation.

SANSABA dwelt lost ground, raced keenly in the early stages of the race.

ZABLINK was slowly away.

UNATTAINABLE raced fiercely in the early and middle stages of the race.

Near the 250m RAMBLING ROSIE laid in under pressure crowding KENSFAIR LADY.

CAZZA’S LOTTERY inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: OPTUS BUSINESS DIRECT CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000MTS

BRAEBROOK withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 3.15 p.m. acting on Veterinary advice.

M Dorrington (OUR LORD) replaced P Wolfgram who was unable to make the allotted weight.

WATTOM TONY was slowly away.

KING COLES, which jumped out making heavy contact with OUR LORD, lost ground.

EXAMINER jumped awkwardly in causing rider B Appo to striking his right arm on the gate.

Leaving the 800m REGAL EVENT moved in and away from OUR LORD just crowding AIR COMMAND momentarily.

DUSTY ZEPHYR and DUSTY TAAN raced wide throughout.

EXAMINER and AIR COMMAND were held up for clear running for some distance rounding the home turn behind OUR LORD.

REGAL EVENT held up for clear running behind MANIC MONDAY rounding the home turn.

WATTOM TONY held up for clear running on entering the straight.

Both B Appo (EXAMINER) and Apprentice H Hamada (MANIC MONDAY) were both advised to exercise more care when shifting ground at the 250m when EXAMINER rolled in and MANIC MONDAY rolled out inconveniencing AIR COMMAND which had to steadied.

ROLLER DRUM rolled in at the finish making heavy contact with KING COLES.

On returning to scale MANIC MONDAY underwent a Veterinary examination due to its poor performance and was found to have a significantly elevated heart rate one hour after the race. Trainer P Nolan was advised a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to its next race start and to advise Stewards of any abnormalities found.

RACE 5: QRSE GED COSGROVE MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP 1200 MTS

FINLARIG jumped on terms, slow into stride.

SPINARDO jumped out at the start coming into contact with BELL PLACE which shifted out making contact with KANES CROSSING.

BELL PLACE pulled hard in the early stages of the race.

SPINARDO hung out from the 600m taking WINSOME DANCER and KANES CROSSING wider on the home turn.



Trainer M Kropp (LIGHTNING JOHANN) questioned regarding the geldings improved performance. Trainer Kropp stated he gave the gelding one run at Dalby in February and has had on going feet problems since with its last run being beaten only 5.8 lens on shifty going at Dalby. The connections thought it was a good run however there had been only minimal stable support today. Explanation noted.

RACE 6: THREE WAYS PHOTOS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200MTS

OZJURIA reluctant to load causing delay. Trainer J Dorrington advised final warning placed on gelding.

JACBRACKEN jumped awkwardly and in causing inconvenience to OZJURIA which was slow.

CALL ME MAL jumped awkwardly slow into stride.

TALK TO THE HAND over-raced in the early stages getting its head in the air hampering HONORARY which was also over-racing.

ALDA VALE raced wide throughout.

SELLE ADORE was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

Jockey R Goltz questioned regarding the disappointing performance of his mount NUCLEAR SUNRISE. Jockey Goltz stated he got a good run throughout, moved into the race stylishly and when asked for an effort the filly gave nothing. Explanation noted.

RACE 7: HIGGINS THOROUGHBRED HORSE TRANSPORT CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1) 1300MTS

GOLD IN MIND withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 1.55 p.m. acting on Veterinary advice.

J McKinnon (SEMI IMPOSE) replaced P Wolfgram who was unable to make the allotted weight.

HOBEAU was slowly away.

CANTIUS was slowly away.

STUD POKER was slowly away.

Apprentice A Taylor (MISTER MUSTANG) was advised to exercise more care when steadying the pace which caused ABBOTT to race ungenerously and to be eased which caused CANTIUS to be checked off the heels of ABBOTT at the 1100m.

GOWHEN raced wide throughout.

Over the concluding stages TINGOLION shifted out making contact with ROCK THE DAWN.

RACE 8: HIGGINS THOROUGHBRED HORSE TRANSPORT CLASS 1 HANDICAP (2) 1300MTS

JACK’S A RIPPER jumped outwards making heavy contact with NOTABLE VICTORY which shifted out making contact with CONDAMINE SILVER which were both slow into stride.

MULTI MILLIONS jumped awkwardly outwards.

PURCEDE raced wide in the early stages.

SEQUEL SCENE jumped awkwardly raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

Approaching the 500m CONDAMINE SILVER rolled in brushing the fence then held up for clear running rounding the home turn behind PURCEDE which rolled in.
