SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

21-08-06: Trainer D Gollan was fined the sum of $100 for failing to notify stewards of the change of riding instructions for SCRATCH AND DENT at the Toowoomba meeting on 19-08-06.

TOOWOOMBA OFFICES – TUESDAY 22 AUGUST 2006


Stewards held an inquiry into licensed stablehand Joe Ashton being escorted by security off Clifford Park for urinating in public in front of the Trainers bar during the race meeting held on Saturday the 19 August 2006.

Mr Joe Ashton pleaded guilty to a change under the terms of ARR 175A conduct prejudicial to the image of racing and was fined $1000 and suspended for 1 month. Stewards under the terms of LR 36(h) then suspended part there of the penalty, to a fine of $500 and the remaining $500 and the 1 month suspension to be suspended for a period of 12 months.

Mr Ashton was advised of his rights of appeal.

A number of trainers had problems obtaining riders by the required time for today’s meeting.

Due to a problem with stable assist the riders for ADD IT UP and ELANET were not shown in the race book.

Jockey P Spry who was indisposed was replaced as per steward’s summary sheet.

RACE 1: ARMSTRONG AUTO GROUP FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE – 1210M.

Trainer G Seabrook advised stewards he would be instructing Apprentice P Randall to ride FRENCH VENTURE hands and heels only as the mare resents being ridden with the whip.

CARMEL’S GEM jumped in the air as the gates opened losing ground.

CUDLEE CREEK jumped in the air as the gates opened losing ground.

PRANCY NANCY, which jumped away awkwardly shifted in shortly after coming into contact with IRISH LIPS, which was slow to begin.

Leaving the 1000m CUDLEE CREEK raced greenly for some distance.

PRANCY NANCY laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

LEBIKYL raced wide throughout out.

Time off 4.16 PM.

RACE 2: ELDERS REAL ESTATE TOOWOOMBA COLTS & GELDINGS MAIDEN PLATE – 1210M.

STAGE CRUSHER jumped away awkwardly.

ABBAFEST and RIVER BEND were very slowly away.

VICTORY IS SWEET, which was slow to begin, raced wide in the early and middle stages.

CLASSIC HAYIL was slow to begin.

BOB A JOB jumped with its head in the air.

CAPTAIN MAT jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 800m RAINBOW RAIDER got its head whilst being eased from the heels of CAPTAIN MAT, which was eased from the heels of AFLEET BOY (P Randall), which got its head up whilst being eased. P Randall was reprimanded for easing too quickly.

Near the 450m BOLSHEVIK BOY was eased when it laid in onto the heels of BOOMBALARDA.

GOFORUS laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

Leaving the 100m CLASSIC HAYIL, which shifted out to avoid the heels of GOFORUS, made contact with BOB A JOB.




CAPTAIN MAT and AFLEET BOY raced wide throughout.

Time off 4.55 PM.

RACE 3: QLD FARMERS WAREHOUSE CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1310M.

ECHO LAD was slowly away.

ROCK THE DAWN and SAAMAI KNIGHT were slow to begin.

Shortly after the start JERRYBUILT and DANELAND were momentarily crowded for room between GREY EXPECTATIONS and DODGE BALL, which both shifted ground.

Leaving the 800m IT’S OBVIOUS was eased when crowded for room between DANELAND, which shifted out and SAAMI KNIGHT, which shifted in.

SAAMI KNIGHT raced wide in the early and middle stages.

ADD IT UP, which was held up for clear running rounding the home turn, shifted out on the point of the home turn coming into contact with JERRYBUILT. ADD IT UP was again held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

Time off 5.35 PM.

RACE 4: RAILWAY HOTEL ALLORA CLASS 6 PLATE – 1615M.

SUPER FRIEND, DREAM OF YOU and FIL THE BILL were slowly away.

Near the 1500m BARITONE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room to the inside of GRAND SEMI.

Approaching the 1200m LADY OF COURAGE was eased when crowded for room by VIETNAM.

FIL THE BILL raced wide in the early and middle stages.

DREAM OF YOU raced wide from the 700m.

Time off 6.15 PM.

RACE 5: PRYDE’S EASIFEED QTIS 3-Y-O CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1009M.

OUR SPECIAL STAR jumped out taking ELANET onto FOOLED, which then made contact with FORTY EIGHT CRASH.

CLEVER CAT jumped out coming into contact with STIPULATION.

Near the 950m ELANET was eased when crowded for room whilst racing to the inside of FOOLED, which was lying in.

Approaching the 700m SEQUEDO was eased from the heels of OUR SPECIAL STAR.

Leaving the 100m FORTY EIGHT CRASH was steadied when it shifted out onto the heels of CLEVER CAT.

Jockey E Dredge (CLEVER CAT) was found guilty to a careless riding charge in that near the 250m she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of FOOLED (J McKinnon), which was checked and blundered. E Dredge was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 meetings as of mid – night 26-08-06 and to expire at mid-night 7-09-06.

Time off 6.55 PM.

RACE 6: CLUB HOTEL CLIFTON CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1009M.

NEPRO jumped in coming into heavy contact with PANAMA JACK.

Near the 900m MAJOR BOYINGTON and MULHOLLAND DRIVE were steadied when crowded for room by JEROME’S STAR, which shifted in.

Near the 550m NEPRO shifted out and made contact with JEROME’S STAR.

PANAMA JACK, which was held up for clear running rounding the home turn shifted in under pressure, approaching the 100m.

Approaching the 50m NEPRO shifted in avoid the heels of COAL BAY.

MIGHTY GRITTY raced wide throughout.

Time off 7.37 PM.

RACE 7: CLIFTON CUP RACE DAY OCTOBER 28 CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1310M.

BUT SAY jumped out and across the running of GOLD IN MIND, which was slowly away.

JUST A CLASSIC, TENABLE and FULLY PSYCHED were slow to begin.

Shortly after the start HAMINGJA, FIRST LIGHT, ONLY HERESAE and FULLY PSYCHED were taking out by RIN TIN, which shifted out for a short distance.

Leaving the 800m GOLD IN MIND was eased from the heels of ONLY HERESAE.

Near the 200m LADY’S OPINION shifted in and bumped SPECIAL DAWN.

Leaving the 100m ONLY HERESAE was accidentally struck across the nose by the whip of K Yoshida (DANTINA).

DANTINA and ONLY HERESAE raced in restricted room to the inside of CAWDOR BULLET over the last 50m.

RIN TIN laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

FULLY PSYSHED shifted out over the concluding stages coming into contact with FIRST LIGHT on two occasions.

Trainer A Ross was fined the sum of $100 for failing to make application to remove the winkers from MACQUARIE LAD.
