RACE 1: A&G Sheds QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1018m
1st – Bellegal 2nd – Saphira 3rd – Dodging Darcy 4th – Regal Castanea
Due to transport difficulties, B. El-Issa was unable to fulfil his engagement on BOSSIE BOY. C. Spry was substituted as the rider of that colt.
App. C. Pye was fined for $400 failing to claim her full allowance on SAPHIRA, SOPHIE’S TAN (Race 3) and RONSTADT (Race 8).
PAVISE was fractious in the barriers.
BOSSIE BOY (C. Spry), THE TOPPIE (P. Wolfgram) and TO FAST TO GOOD (A. Taylor) were all tightened for room at the start between SAPHIRA (C. Pye) and JUST FRED (R. Goltz) when both horses shifted ground.
Approaching the 900m, SASQUATCH ROCK (M. Price) and REGAL CASTANEA (K. Yoshida) were both tightened for room between PAVISE (J. Byrne) and LOST TARGET (K. Banks), which shifted in. K. Banks was advised to exercise more care.
C. Pye, rider of SAPHIRA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of JUST FRED (R. Goltz), resulting in JUST FRED being checked and taken in on to LOST TARGET (K. Banks), which in turn was taken in on to REGAL CASTANEA (K. Yoshida), causing that horse to be taken on to SASQUATCH ROCK (M. Price), which was also checked and PAVISE (J. Byrne), which was also tightened. C. Pye was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 12 meetings, to commence at midnight, 21 September, and to expire at midnight, 7 October 2007.
A post race veterinary examination of JUST FRED revealed the horse to have been galloped on on the near hind leg, resulting in irreparable damage to both tendons in that leg. The horse was subsequently enthanased on humane grounds by the race day veterinary surgeon.
Near the 600m, DODGING DARCY (G. Geran) was inclined to overrace.
At the 600m, THETOPPIE (P. Wolfgram) improved on to the heels of SAPHIRA (C. Pye), and when being eased off heels, shifted out abruptly, making contact with TO FAST TO GOOD (A. Taylor), causing that horse to blunder.
Rounding the home turn, REGAL CASTANEA (K. Yoshida) shifted out to improve and in doing so made heavy contact with TO FAST TO GOOD, which became unbalanced. K. Yoshida, rider of REGAL CASTANEA, was severely reprimanded.

CAT DAZZLE (S. Richardson) was slow to begin.

Byrne, rider of EARNSHAW, lost the use of his off side stirrup iron in this incident, and was then unable to regain the use of that iron for the entire race.
Approaching the 700m, IN A WHIRL (S. Drake) had to be steadied when tightened for room by HADEYAH (D. McMaster), which was taken in by EARNSHAW (J. Byrne), which shifted in.
At the 500m, SHOW STEALER (B. El-Issa) improved on to the heels of HADEYAH.
EARNSHAW (J. Byrne) made the home turn awkwardly.
K. Yoshida, rider of SHIRE GIRL, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift out making the home turn, taking MS MARJU (R. Goltz) wider on the track, and when being taken wider, R. Goltz was inconvenienced and obliged to stop riding. K. Yoshida was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 21 September, and to expire at midnight, 30 September 2007.
Near the 250m, CAT DAZZLE (S. Richardson) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SMILING GINO, which was inclined to lay in.
SMILING GINO (A. Best) raced wide throughout.
RACE 3: Clive Berghofer Group Class 3 Plate – 1119m
1st – Dance Girl Dance 2nd – Eye Max 3rd – Falconten 4th – Feline Hunter

RACE 6: Livestock Transport Group H’cap – 1219m
1st – King’s Clan 2nd – Foolish 3rd – Stood up 4th - Kutalo
P. Wolfgram was fined $400 for attempting to weight out without riding boots.
FOOLISH (J. Byrne) was slow to begin.
ENRIQUE (B. El-Issa) also missed the start. When questioned, B. El-Issa stated that on jumping away the horse was fractious and jumped inwards, making heavy contact with the inside barrier partition. He added that in this incident he injured his right hand.
KANES CROSSING (M. Speers) raced wide throughout.
When questioned as to his riding of ENRIQUE in the early stages, B. El-Issa stated that after the incident in the barriers, the horse seemed somewhat reluctant to race and this resulted in the horse having difficulty keeping in touch with the field. Trainer M. Webb stated that whilst it had been intended to ride ENRIQUE quietly and allow it to settle, he was of the opinion that something had to be amiss for the horse not to keep in touch with the field early in the race. B. El-issa dropped his whip on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of ENRIQUE revealed the gelding had an abrasion above its eyebrow which was consistent with it contacting the barrier partition. The explanation was noted.

MAJOR BOYINGTON (J. Byrne) was slow to begin.
N. Evans, rider of GIRLS JEUNEY, was severely reprimanded for shifting in to assume the lead near the 950m, resulting in MINI VIEW (M. Price) having to be steadied. In this incident, GIRLS JEUNEY made heavy contact with the running rail. Following this incident, MINI VIEW shifted out off the heels of GIRLS JEUNEY, taking NALA out on to CONSIDER YOURSELF (J. Sharp), which had to be steadied.
MAJOR BOYINGTON (J. Byrne) was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.
Leaving the 250m, LIPINSKI (B. El-Issa) had to be steadied when tightened for room between NALA and MONO MAC (A. Taylor).
CLASSIC ALIBI (R. Goltz) was held up for clear running in the straight and close to the finish line raced in restricted room between MONO MAC (A. Taylor) and GIRLS JEUNEY (N. Evans), which shifted out under pressure.
Also close to the finish line, LIPINSKI, which had been held up for clear running, attempted to take a tight run between MINI VIEW (M. Price) and NALA and raced in restricted room near the finish line.
