Race 1: TTC Racing Awards 13th September Maiden Plate – 1100m
PRINT OUT – began awkwardly.
PIMLICO GIRL – began awkwardly. Hung out at the 900m.
BATTLEBRIDGE – raced wide throughout.
LADYGETAGIRL – raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: Congratulations 2013/14 Trainer Ben Currie Class 4 H'cap – 1625m
CARLSON’S FELT – raced ungenerously whilst being restrained rounding the turn near the 1300m. Checked near the 900m and made contact with the running rail. At a subsequent inquiry, R. Ride (PRIVATE LABEL) was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CARLSON’S FELT.
OUTBACK PRIDE - held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
FIERY GIRL – laid in for the majority of the race.
BELWINA – the jockey reported after racing wide throughout, the mare weakened over the concluding stages, and as the horse was second up from a spell, in his opinion, it would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: Congratulations 2013/14 Jockey Sky Bogenhuber Class 2 H'cap – 1100m
WOMEN BE SHOPPING – began awkwardly.
CHILLS – steadied to avoid heels near the 100m.
ELIAZAR – momentarily forced to race in restricted room between WOMEN BE SHOPPING and RULING MISS approaching the finish when both horses shifted ground.
SMOOTH TALKER and ELIAZAR - raced wide throughout.
Race 4: Congratulations 2013/14 Owner Gary Stadler BM80 H'cap – 1200m
The start of this race was delayed when TISANI BOY became fractious in the barriers. The horse was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and deemed suitable to race.
MR ZOOLANDER, TINTS – made contact on jumping away.
TISANI BOY – slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of 3rd placegetter, FRENCH COMMAND, to view the photo finish print for 2nd. Subsequently, correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.
Apprentice J. Orman (TISANI BOY) was fined $100 for using his whip in 4 consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
Race 5: Congratulations 2013/14 Apprentice Brooke Stower Class 3 Plate – 1300m
DREAM WITH ME - late scratching at 5.30 pm due to being injured in transit to the course.
UP AND ABLAZE – steadied from heels of NATURE BITES approaching the 1200m. Apprentice E. Ljung (NATURE BITES), was advised to exercise more care when shifting in when not completely clear.
UP AND ABLAZE – after being forced wider on the track near the 1100m, the rider restrained and shifted in to obtain a trailing position closer to the running rail.
STORM PELOTARI – raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages.
ZIPS A DAISY - raced keenly for a short distance leaving the 800m. Held up and unable to improve from the 500m until approaching the 300m.
Race 6: National Jockeys Celebration Day Class 1 Plate – 1625m
JUST AS SWEET – tightened for room at the start.
LIDO – the saddle shifted forward passing the 1400m, placing the rider at a significant disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
EAT YOUR HEART OUT – trainer J. Hanna advised following the disappointing performance the horse would be sent for a spell.
CASTLEDALE LAD – apprentice M. McGillivray, rider of the 4th placegetter, was fined $200 for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the race.
Race 7: Become A TTC Member QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1050m
TRIPLE JEOPARDY – slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. Inquiry into the disappointing performance. Jockey S. Bogenhuber advised the colt was slow to begin and as a result after being caught wide, settled in the second half of the field. She added that whilst her mount travelled reasonably throughout the event, it did race greenly. Jockey Bogenhuber further stated that whilst she was disappointed with the performance tonight, she was of the view it would derive benefit from the race experience tonight as it was having its first race start.
SORORITY SISTER – hung in during the early stages.
PURE CHARM – tightened for room and eased leaving the 800m.
