Near the 500m, HEIRESS DE ANABAA was tightened for room when racing to the inside of TEN FLUTES and SHOT BAR (J. Letherby). After taking evidence from the riders concerned, it was considered that K. Ashton initially allowed TEN FLUTES to shift in, placing HEIRESS DE ANABAA in restricted room, however both HEIRESS DE ANABAA and TEN FLUTES were further tightened for room by SHOT BAR, which shifted in at that point. Apprentices K. Ashton, rider of TEN FLUTES, and J. Letherby, rider of SHOT BAR, were both advised to exercsese more care reminded of their obligations to allow sufficent racing room for other runners when shifting ground.

When questioned regarding the performance of BODY DOUBLE, K. Yoshida stated that the mare is one paced and because of the tempo of the race he was forced to ask the horse for an effort from the 700m and, in his opinion, the horse may have been a little underdone as it was havng its first start for 3 weeks.
