SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

FROM TTC – 22.05.10: Stewards questioned jockey C. Gilby at the Ipswich Turf Club meeting on Wednesday, 26 May 2010, regarding his failure to fulfil his riding engagement on WARREGO in Race 5 at the Toowoomba meeting. Jockey Gilby explained that due to transportation problems he was unable to fulfil his riding engagement. Stewards took no further action in the matter as they considered there were extenuating circumstances but did advise jockey Gilby that they were of the opinion there was sufficient time in this case to make alternative arrangements and in future it would be expected he would fulfil his riding engagements as per the requirements of the rules.

FROM GATTON 15.5.10 (Race 2): M. Abe, the rider of TENNIS BRACELET, was reprimanded under AR. 137(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SKYIELD (N. Evans) near the 900m, resulting in SKYIELD being tightened for room at that point.

Race 1: HAPPY RETIREMENT PHIL WILD CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Tycoon’s Pride 2nd – Markanyon 3rd – Convictor 4th – Leaping Leigh

Track temperature: 13 degrees celsius

LEAPING LEIGH (N. Tomizawa), which was initially slow to begin, was tightened for room shortly after the start between MARKANYON (S. Bogenhuber) and GENERAL IGLESIA (A. Best), which shifted out.

CONVICTOR (N. Yamada) was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

Near the 600m LEAPING LEIGH was momentarily cramped for room by STREETCAR DESIRE (N. Evans), which shifted in. STREETCAR DESIRE was again inclined to lay in rounding the home turn.

Rounding the home turn MARKANYON had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by LEAPING LEIGH which shifted in.

Race 2: XXXX GOLD CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Musashi Of Meiko 2nd – Mallory Park 3rd – Nova Chenka 4th – Lightning Jo

Track temperature: 13 degrees celsius

ZAKATO (S. Bogenhuber) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start LIGHTNING JO (A. Best) was crowded for room by EMMERTT (N. Yamada) which shifted in. A short distance later NEDALI (W. Clasohm) was crowded for room when racing to the inside of MUSASHI OF MIEKO (B. Wallace) which stepped in and away from LIGHTNING JO, which continued to shift down the track.

Near the 1100m LIGHTNING JO improved up on to the heels of EMMERTT and shifted out. LIGHTNING JO then raced wide for the remainder of the event.

MUSASHI OF MIEKO raced four wide for the entire event.

MALLORY PARK (N. Evans) raced wide for the majority of the event.

MUSASHI OF MIEKO cast its off hind plate leaving the 700m.

Race 3: SOUTHERN CROSS AUTOMOTIVE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1050M
1st – Teeyora 2nd – Dulbydilla 3rd – Pagoda 4th – Gothic Innocence

Track temperature: 12 degrees celsius.

THE GADGET MAN (R. Kerwin) began awkwardly.

GOLD LUCK (L. Cheshire) and EVENTUAL (P. Wolfgram) made contact on jumping away, as did DULBYDILLA (B. Thomson) and NERO'S FIRE (T. Huxham).

A short distance after the start NERO'S FIRE was tightened for room, causing the horse to lose ground when racing between DULBYDILLA, which was taken out by EVENTUAL, and PAGODA (N. Yamada), which had shifted in and away from GOTHIC INNOCENCE (B. Wallace).

PUNTERS CORNER (M. Abe) raced wide for the majority of the event.

NERO'S FIRE hung out rounding the home turn.

L. Cheshire reported that GOLD LUCK hung out throughout running.

Race 4: SNOOZE TOOWOOMBA QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Tycoon Cat 2nd – Starburst 3rd – Kilawoman 4th – Rosalita

Track temperature: 12 degrees celsius.

Trainer N. Petersen was reprimanded for the standard of presentation of WOODLAKE for this event.

EXQUISITE DIAMOND was a late scratching at 7.03 p.m., being withdrawn by the stewards acting on the advice of the starter after the horse refused to load. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on EXQUISITE DIAMOND be refunded, with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets to apply. Trainer B. Richardson was advised that he must obtain a further two barrier certificates before the horse is permitted to race again.

DRAGON STYLE (L. Cheshire) proved difficult to load.

DRAGON STYLE was slow to begin.

WOODLAKE (N. Yamada) was crowded for room shortly after the start when racing between KILAWOMAN (K. Banks) and BOLT FROM THE BLUE (W. Clasohm) which shifted in.

BOLT FROM THE BLUE raced greenly in the early stages.

Leaving the 1000m DRAGON STYLE had to be steadied off the heels of ROSALITA (A. Best), which shifted in.

RUSHLAND (A.Taylor) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 200m TYCOON CAT (P. Wolfgram) shifted out making contact with STARBURST (N. Tomizawa). A short distance later STARBURST shifted back in bumping BOLT FROM THE BLUE.

Race 5:7 NEWS CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1000M
1st – Tycoon Tattoo 2nd – Ulmarra 3rd – Don’t Tell Daddy 4th – Mayamac

Track temperature: 11 degrees celsius.

The start of this race was delayed as a result of MAYAMAC needing farrier attention after the horse sprung its nearside hind plate.

DON’T TELL DADDY (L. Cheshire) blundered on jumping away.

SWEET MARIE (M. Abe) and ECLAIR MAGIQUE (S. Galvin) made contact at the start.

SWEET MARIE was inclined to hang in for the majority of the event and near the 800m shifted in tightening the running of ECLAIR MAGIQUE.

L. Cheshire, the rider of DON’T TELL DADDY, was reprimanded under AR. 137A(5)(a)(i) for striking her mount in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

Race 6: PSP VIDEO FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
1st – Ting Tings 2nd – Swiss Strike 3rd – Bemuse 4th – The Enemy Within

Track temperature: 11 degrees celsius.

SKEYANA (B. Wallace) began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with JUSTASOANDSOACT (C. Gilby).

ELEGIDO (J. Letherby) was slow to begin.

ERIS (T. Fujinuma) began awkwardly.

Leaving the 800m TING TINGS (S. Bogenhuber) had to be steadied off the heels of BEMUSE (A. Best).

WATERFRONT TIGER (W. Clasohm) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 550m SWISS STRIKE (N. Yamada) was momentarily crowded for room by BENT PENNY (C. Priest) which shifted in.

SWISS STRIKE was held up rounding the home turn.

Stewards questioned jockey K. Banks regarding the seemingly improved performance of TING TINGS tonight compared to its unplaced performance at Gatton on 15 May as K. Banks was the rider of the filly in that race. Jockey Banks stated that after beginning well the horse was crossed by a number of runners approaching the first turn and after that it lost interest and despite her urgings failed to run on. When questioned regarding tonight’s performance of TING TINGS, apprentice S. Bogenhuber stated that TING TINGS is still green and learning to race, however tonight travelled better than at its previous starts. It was noted that blinkers were added to TING TINGS for tonight’s event. Stewards noted the explanations.

Race 7: XXXX BITTER COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
1st – Primed 2nd – Bomber Murphy 3rd – Lightning Flash 4th – Supertrooper

Track temperature: 11 degrees celsius.

The start of this race was delayed after the bridle of LIGHTNING FLASH (C. Priest) had to be replaced at the barriers.

COOPERS COMET (P. Wolfgram) was slow to begin.

SUPERTROOPER (A.Taylor) was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event.

Near the 400m LIGHTNING FLASH was tightened for room when racing to the inside of BOMBER MURPHY (R. Kerwin), which was taken in by ITSA PUNT (S. Richardson).
