Race 1: XXXX Gold Class 3 H'cap – 1300m
1st – Hardwick 2nd – Primed 3rd – Double Rise 4th – Mother Russia

Track temperature: 19 degrees celsius

SARISTA (A. Smith) jumped away awkwardly, losing ground.

Near the 900m, SARISTA, when being restained, raced with its head in the air and commenced to overrace in the middle stages of the event.

Leaving the 500m, PRIMED (A. Best) shifted out to improve and forced CRIMSON FIRE (M. Abe) wider on the track.

After leaving the 200m, MULGA BOB (I. Coombes) had to be eased when disappointed for a run between KUNNINKIK (J. Letherby) and LEAPING LEIGH (L. Roberts), which shifted in slightly.

LEAPNG LEIGH, ARTSECRETS (S. Guymer) and PRIMED raced wide for the majority of the race.

P. Wolfgram, rider of MOTHER RUSSIA, explained that the horse got back as was the intention. He said he did consider at one stage endeavouring to follow PRIMED when it went forward at about the 500m but it was not travelling well enough to do so and he was anxious not to cover unnecessary ground. He said after this he was then momentarily held up in the straight but when clear running did come MOTHER RUSSIA did not close off as expected and, in his opinion, was a little disappointing today.

Race 2: 7 News Class 1 H'cap – 1100m
1st – Seismic 2nd – Audiola 3rd – Etching 4th – Judges Verdict

Track temperature: 15 degrees celsius

The start of the race was delayed slightly when RED MOHICAN (J. Warrington) proved somewhat difficult to load.

QUALO TWO (S. Bogenhuber) was slow to begin.

Near the 1000m, DIVINE CASH (M. Abe) shifted in and away from AUDIOLA (P. Wolfgram), making contact with the hind quarters of GREY ENCOUNTER (I. Coombes).

Passing the 750m, DIVINE CASH shifted out taking THE GADGET MAN (B. Wallace) out on to the heels of CRÈME LATTE (M. O'Brien), resulting in THE GADGET MAN having to be steadied.

ETCHING (S. Guymer) was held up for clear running from the 150m until near the 50m.

THE GADGET MAN and BRUNCHER (A. Smith) raced wide for the majority of the race.

K. Banks, rider of DANE’S WORLD, explained she was instructed not to put the horse under too much pressure in the early and middle stages as it was going up in distance and there was some doubt about the gelding getting the 1100m. She said she was pressured somewhat in the middle stages and on the home turn DANE’S WORLD commenced to give ground and she did not ride it out in the straight as she normally would. A post race veterinary examination of DANE’S WORLD failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 3: Ewels Of The Rang QTIS Three-Year-Old H'cap – 1000m
1st – Tycoon Tattoo 2nd – Agent Blue 3rd – Dulbydilla 4th - Ulmarra

Track temperature: 15 degrees celsius.

Near the 800m, MYSOO (J. Warrington) was tightened for room and forced to ease when racing between STREET SIGN (M. O'Brien) and DULBYDILLA (S. Guymer), which shifted in.

On the point of the home turn, PORTON BAY (J. Letherby), which was tiring, shifted out, coming into contact with SHOW RULER (M. Radecker).

PORTON BAY raced in a handy position in the early stages of the event, then compounded badly over the concluding stages to finish last after hanging out for most of the race. A post race veterinary examination of PORTON BAY failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards, in light of the unsatisfactory performance, advised the stable representative for trainer M. Nolan that PORTON BAY would be required to undergo an endoscopic examination on Monday, the results of which to be forwarded to stewards. He was further advised that PORTON BAY must trial satisfactorily, however before trialing, the trainer must provide a veterinary clearance for the filly. Stewards further ruled that following the trial PORTON BAY must undergo a further endoscopic examination, with the results forwarded to stewards.

Race 4: 7 Sunrise Class 5 H'cap – 1100m
1st – Hyde Park 2nd – Just A Touch 3rd – Heza Flashman 4th - Wooroorooka

Track temperature: 14 degrees celsius.

WOOROOROOKA (J. Letherby) began awkwardly.

Leaving the 800m, LIGER (S. Guymer), when being restrained, raced with its head in the air for a short distance.

Near the 500m, LIGER shifted out to improve, forcing JUST A TOUCH (B. Wallace) wider on the track.

Passing the 100m, LIGER was forced to ease from the heels of HYDE PARK (A. Best) and JUST A TOUCH (B. Wallace), both of which shifted ground.

Leaving the 200m, and again at the 100m, B. Wallace, rider of JUST A TOUCH, was obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount when it shifted in under pressure.

WOOROOROOKA had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.

HEZA FLASHMAN (P. Wolfgram) and JUST A TOUCH raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Snooze Toowoomba Class 2 H'cap – 1625m
1st – Spinada 2nd – Mallory Park 3rd – Sir Knight 4th -

Track temperature: 14 degrees celsius.

Stewards accepted trainer R. Lipp’s explanation for the late declaration of J. Warrington as the rider of MONSOON REIGN.

INTERALIA (K. Banks) was slow to begin.

EQUAL SIGN (W. Clasohm) and SHOT BAR (S. Guymer) overraced in the early and middle stages of the race.

FAT HENRY (M. O'Brien) was held up for clear running from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight.

EQUAL SIGN (W. Clasohm) had a tendency to lay in in the middle stages of the event.

Near the 500m, EQUAL SIGN, which was tiring, was forced to ease when SHOT BAR (S. Guymer) shifted in. S. Guymer, rider of SHOT BAR, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

ELIMINATION (A. Smith), DORADO BEACH (J. Kropp) and MALLORY PARK (B. Wallace) raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 6: Southern Cross Automative Two-Years-Old Maiden H'cap – 1100m
1st – Dark Secrets 2nd – Backstage Tycoon 3rd – Langreo 4th – Aside

Track temperature: 12 degrees celsius.

Aftr the running of race 1 at Eagle Farm today, Mr John Hackett, a steward officiating at that meeting, telephoned Toowoomba Turf Club stewards advising them that DARK SECRETS, trained by Mr Tony Sears, and which had been declared to run at Toowoomba this evening, had been taken to Eagle Farm today instead of DON VITO, which was a declared runner for Eagle Farm. DARK SECRETS was brought back to Toowoomba. Before being allowed to start DARK SECRETS was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon, who advised that, in his opinion, he could see no reason for it not being allowed to take its place in the field. An inquiry into this matter will be conducted by Queensland Racing stewards.

PASADA (M. O'Brien), which was slow to begin, was further hampered at the start by COOINDA (P. Wolfgram), which shifted out. As a consequence of this, PASADA raced well back in the field.

CATS ARE FLYING (B. Wallace) and LANGREO (A. Best) jumped away awkwardly, losing ground.

ASIDE (K. Ashton) improved onto heels near the 550m and was forced to ease. ASIDE was then held up for clear running until leaving the 300m.

Leaving the 300m, LANGREO (A. Best) shifted out to improve, forcing COOINDA (P. Wolfgram) and CATS ARE FLYING (B. Wallace) wider on the track.

W. Clasohm, rider of the 5th placegetter, GREENWOOD GAL, was reprimanded for failing to present himself at scale to be weighed. Stewards were satisfied that he weighed out at the proper weight and accordingly declared correct weight in his absence.

A post race veterinary examination of COOINDA which performed poorly, revealed the gelding to be shin in both forelegs. Trainer M. Nolan’s representative was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for COOINDA prior to its next race start.

Race 7: XXXX Bitter Maiden Plate – 1000m
1st – Uphebobs 2nd –Don’t Call me Crazy 3rd – Golden Hut 4th – I Don’t Remember

Track temperature: 10 degrees celsius.

WHISPRIAN (S. Bogenhuber) began awkwardly, losing ground.

RICHMOND LAD (J. Letherby), which began awkwardly, had to be steadied from the heels of GOLDEN HUT (B. Wallace) shortly after the start.

Near the 850m, GOLDEN HUT (B. Wallace) was forced to ease from the heels of DON’T CALL ME CRAZY (S. Guymer), which shifted out.

Leaving the 800m, HAYIL KING DAYL (K. Ashton) hung out across the heels of UPHEBOBS (P. Wolfgram). HAYIL KING DAYL continued to hang out for the remanider of the race.

Near the 550m, DON’T CALL ME CRAZY improved on to the heels of MY MOLLIE MIA (M. O’Brien) and was forced to shift in. DON’T CALL ME CRAZY was then held up for clear running near the 400m.

M. O’Brien, rider of MY MOLLIE MIA, was questioned regarding the boots she had worn in the race. Concerns were raised as to whether she had changed her boots after weighing out. On inquiry it could not be established to the requisite standard that a breach of the rules had occurred and no action was taken.
