SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

As A. Taylor was injured, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: BRAZIL FAMILY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Sir Knight 2nd – Grain Trader 3rd – Agent Blue 4th – Heart To Fear

Track temperature: 17 degrees celsius

As no other suitable senior rider was available, stewards permitted apprentice K. Mizobe to replace the injured A. Taylor as the rider of ISTAAR.

Stewards approved the replacement for FAT HENRY from apprentice T. Fujinuma to apprentice M. O’Brien due to T. Fujinuma’s non-arrival at the course on time. At a subsequent inquiry T. Fujinuma was fined $100 under AR. 85B for failing to fulfil his engagement.

FAT HENRY (M. O'Brien) jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 1000m CHAMPAGNE PINK (M. Radecker), when being eased, got its head in the air and raced ungenerously.

An inquiry was opened into the reasons for SEISMIC (A. Best) and SILVERSMITH (R. Goltz) falling at the 900m. After taking evidence from J. Murphy (TIGGEROO), K. Mizobe (ISTAAR), M. Radecker (CHAMPAGNE PINK) and P. Wolfgram (SIR KNIGHT), the inquiry was adjourned to enable jockeys A. Best and R. Goltz to attend as they had been transported to hospital for further medical attention.

TIGGEROO (J. Murphy) was found to be lame in the near hind leg after the event. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced before the gelding again races.

Race 2: C.U.A. CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Moon Chaser 2nd – Norse Code 3rd – Olanal 4th – Channel Crossing

Track temperature: 16 degrees celsius

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer R. Murray regarding the late declaration of C. Kearney as the rider of HOT FLUSHES.

WOOROOROOKA (M. Radecker) and MY FLIGHT (M. O'Brien) were slow to begin.

CHANNEL CROSSING (M. Abe) began awkwardly.

LOADED TYCOON (P. Wolfgram), which was inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages, raced wide for the majority of the event.

BREAKING THE RULES (J. Kropp) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

Near the 350m BEARHART GOLD (J. Stanley) was checked when tightened for room between BURNETT DANCER (K. Mizobe), which shifted out, and LOADED TYCOON which shifted in.

Race 3: ARTSHOP FINE CUSTOM PICTURE FRAMING CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Mallory Park 2nd – I’myourhuckleberry 3rd – Rem’e’can 4th – Get Jazz

Track temperature: 16 degrees celsius.

DORADO BEACH (J. Kropp) and RIVER PERFUME (S. Drake) made contact on jumping away.

I’MYOURHUCKLEBERRY (J. Stanley) began awkwardly.

BRUNCHER (B. Richardson) overraced in the early stages.

DORADO BEACH was caught wide for the majority of the event.

OCEAN OUTLAW (N. Evans) was held up for clear running over the final 150m.

Race 4: USQ ARTSWORX CLASS 4 H’CAP – 850M
1st – Silver Scholar 2nd – Night Escort 3rd – Adventurous Angel 4th – Mayamac

Track temperature: 15 degrees celsius.

POCKET BATTLESHIP (S. Gaffaney) was inspected by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers after the horse reared over in the enclosure and after examination passed fit to start.

SWEET MARIE (B. Richardson), ALLOWAY KING (S. Richardson) and CAMPHOR (S. Drake) were tightened on jumping away between RED WINE BWANA (J. Letherby) and MAYAMAC (S. Egan), which shifted out after blundering, resulting in CAMPHOR losing ground.

EAGLE JESTER (M. Radecker) and TAKE A STAND (P. Wolfgram) were slow to begin.

SILVER SCHOLAR (G. Geran) raced wide for the majority of the event.

LETHAL INTENT (K. Mizobe) had a tendency to lay in in the middle stages of the event.

Near the 400m NIGHT ESCORT (K. Yoshida) had to be steadied off the heels of SILVER SCHOLAR, which shifted in.

Race 5: XXXX GOLD QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE – 850M
1st – Daydreamer 2nd – Spring Rose 3rd – Falisaty 4th – Craiglea Mac

Track temperature: 15 degrees celsius.

TISANI STAR (T. Fujinuma) began awkwardly and shifted in.

KASALUCK (K. Mizobe) began awkwardly.

JACK’S BACK (K. Yoshida) was slow to begin.

SPRING ROSE (S. Egan) hung out rounding the first turn.

JACK'S BACK hung out for the majority of the event.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SILVAKINI, J. Stanley said he was concerned with the horse’s action, particularly when placed under pressure. A veterinary examination of the filly found the horse to be sore in the off foreleg. Trainer J. Wallace’s representative was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced before the filly again races.

Race 6: SEVEN NEWS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M
1st – Bernadecio 2nd – Queenofbeaudesert 3rd – Tycoon Angel 4th – Go Dan Go

Track temperature: 13 degrees celsius.

QUALO TWO (M. Radecker) was slow to begin.

MANEROO CRUISE (K. Mizobe), which was initially slow to begin, was crowded for room between TYCOON ANGEL (B. Richardson) and BERNADECIO (K. Yoshida), both of which shifted ground.

TYCOON ANGEL and BERNADECIO raced wide for the majority of the event.


Race 7: JEWELS OF THE RANGE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Tiny Secret 2nd – Skytana 3rd – Brigalow Babe 4th – Grey Mambo

Track temperature: 13 degrees celsius.

As no suitable senior riders were available, stewards permitted apprentice J. Letherby to replace the injured A. Best on FRILLY and apprentice T. Fujinuma to replace the injured R. Goltz on TINY SECRET.

Stewards questioned trainer M. Nolan’s representative regarding the presentation of KITZASEQUALO without blinkers. After taking evidence, the inquiry was adjourned to enable further investigations regarding the matter.

LORRIE’S FAVOURITE (B. Doyle) began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with TIZ COREY (K. Banks)

ROCKNABIL (B. Abbey) and LESS IS MORE (J. Stanley) raced wide throughout.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FRILLY, J. Letherby said that the horse when restrained in the early stages got its head up and after that raced ungenerously throughout the event. Stewards noted the explanation.
