SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

As K. Mizobe was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary
Sheet.

Race 1: Colliers International Toowoomba Class 3 Plate – 1500m
1st – Dusty’s Felt 2nd – Paper Weight 3rd – Mother Russia 4th – Bellavonane

Track temperature: 29 degrees celsius

GRAIN TRADER (G. Geran), OFTEN WRONG (K. Yoshida) and SIR KNIGHT (C. Priest) were slow to begin.

WINGER IN (C. Eaton) got its head up and overraced for some distance leaving the 1400m.

BELLAVONANE (S. Drake) overraced in the early stages of the race, which resulted in the horse taking up the leading position, which was contrary to the normal tactics adopted on the horse.

Near the 900m, GRAIN TRADER (G. Geran) had to be steadied from the heels of PAPER WEIGHT (A.Taylor).

ROBSON (J. Letherby) raced wide for the majority of the race.

A post race veterinary examination of OFTEN WRONG, which yielded ground to finish at the rear of the field, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities at the time of examination.
Race 2: A 1 Fire & Safety Toowoomba Class 6 H'cap - 1000m
1st – Tycoon Tatto 2nd – Hyde Park 3rd – Fidakat 4th – Verridon

Track temperature: 29 degrees celsius

The start of this race was delayed after DIASCO got away from its handlers. After an examination by the veterinary surgeon, DIASCO was cleared to start.

HYDE PARK (N. Tomizawa) and FIDAKAT (K. Banks) were slow to begin.

VERRIDON (T. Fujinuma) began awkwardly, losing ground.

TYCOON TATTOO (B. Richardson) began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with MAID READY (N. Yamada).

Leaving the 100m, WHAT A SUCCESS (C. Priest) improved up on to the heels of the tiring TENESSEE BLUE (R. Goltz) and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.


Race 3: M3 Property CG&E Class 1 H'cap – 1200m
1st – Red Hot Briefs 2nd – No Shackles 3rd – The Gadget Man 4th - Honoured

Track temperature: 24 degrees celsius.

THE GADGET MAN (B. Richardson) was slow to begin.

RESONATING (M. Abe) began awkwardly.

Near the 900m, LUNAR CHIMES (N. Yamada) was tightened for room when racing to the inside of JONDY IGGY (R. Goltz), which shifted in. As a result of this incident, LUNAR CHIMES made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. R. Goltz, rider of JONDY IGGY, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

NO SHACKLES (G. Geran) was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.

Near the 100m, JONDY IGGY was tightened for room when racing to the inside of MANEROO CRUISE (C. Eaton), which was taken in by LUNAR CHIMES (N. Yamada). N. Yamada, rider of LUNAR CHIMES, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

HONOURED (N. Tomizawa) had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

HONOURED raced wide for the majority of the race.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of RED HOT BRIEFS in comparison to its 2 most recent starts, trainer I. Savins stated that the gelding was caught wide in running in its last 2 races, resulting in the horse yeilding ground on both occasions. He added that RED HOT BRIEFS was having its first start on the Toowoomba track which may also have been a factor in the improved performance.



Race 4: Vision Accountants Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st – Lonaro 2nd – Pukekura Boy 3rd – Yo’s Selection 4th - Blitzed

Track temperature: 22 degrees celsius.

The start of this race was delayed after a number of runners proved difficult to load. Those runners included BLITZED, COUNT DRACULA and PUKEKURA BOY. Trainer E. Ropiha was advised that a warning was being placed on PUKEKURA BOY regarding its barrier manners.

COUNT DRACULA (B. Richardson) and EASE ON BY (J. Letherby) were slow to begin.

BLITZED (N. Tomizawa) shifted out at the start and made contact with ASIDE (K. Ashton).

SAY NOTHIN (S. Bogenhuber) had to be steadied off the heels of LONARO (K. Banks), whch shifted in shortly after the start.

EASE ON BY (J. Letherby) was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.

PUKEKURA BOY (T. Fujinuma) was caught wide for the majority of the race and had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 300m.

YO’S SELECTION (R. Goltz) was inclined in lay in when placed under pressure over the final 200m.


Race 5: XXXX Gold Open H'cap – 1300m
1st – Red Ferments 2nd – Three Swallows 3rd – Flying Along 4th - Rocklet

Track temperature: 20 degrees celsius.

FLYING ALONG (R. Goltz) and ROCKLET (K. Yoshida) were both slow to begin.

FOOLISH (N. Tomizawa) shifted out shortly after the start, making contact with YASS RIVER (M. Dolendo).

YASS RIVER raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 6: 7pm News QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1050m
1st – Jetlag 2nd – Forever Gentle 3rd – Saluting 4th – Skytana

Track temperature: 20 degrees celsius.

FOREVER GENTLE (T. Fujinuma) shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with ANGELUS BELLE (N. Tomizawa).

KILAWOMAN (K. Ashton) and LADY CON (B. Evans) were slow to begin.

Near the 750m, ANGELUS BELLE was momentarily tightened for room when racing to the inside of SALUTING (W. Clasohm), which shifted in. W. Clasohm, rider of SALUTING, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

ARTISTS IMPRESSION (S. Bogenhuber) and SKYTANA (N. Yamada) raced wide throughout.


Race 7: Southern Cross Automotive Fillies & Mares Class 1 H'cap – 1200m
1st – Daneready 2nd – Brigalow Babe 3rd – Maid Of Sevens 4th – Yveline

Track temperature: 18 degrees celsius.

SNIPERTY (B. Evans) was slow to begin, resulting in the horse losing valuable ground.

CHINSKY (M. Dolendo) appeared to lose its footing just after the start of the race. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CHINSKY, jockey M. Dolendo stated that the horse, after stumbling at the start, never travelled welll and was under pressure for the majority of the event.

SEASIDE DANCER (M. O’Brien) had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 300m.

DANEREADY (B. Richardson) raced wide throughout.
